Chana dal - 1 cup
Ginger (grated)- 1 tbsp
Green chilli - 5
Black cardamom - 1
Cinnamon stick -1 inch
Cumin seeds -1 tsp
Bay leaf -1
Dry red chilli -1
Kasuri methi -1 tbsp
Ghee -1 tbsp
Turmeric powder -1/2 tsp
Coriander powder -1 tsp
Cumin powder - 1/2 tsp
Garam masala - 1/2 tsp
Roasted cumin powder -1 tsp
Fresh coconut - 4 tbsp
Mustard oil - 4 tbsp
Water - 4 cups
Salt to taste

Jab bhi chutti aata hu me biwi baccho ke liye khana banata hu abhi halat ye hai ki teeno time ka khana mujhe hi banana parta hai . . kitchen se bahar aane ka mouka hi nhi milta ..Ghar se bahar sirf sabji ya ration ke liye hi nikalta hu ....😢😢😢😢. ....sabhi bolte hai ki bohot tasty khana banata hu ...😅

Traditionally es recipe me aloo ka use nahi hota hai, per mere ghar per hamesha aloo ke sath banta hai aur ye sabko bahut pasand aata hai..to aap aloo esme optional rakh sakte hai ..aur agar aap esme 1 tsp sugar add karenge to eska taste aur badh jayega :)

We bengali love this dal like anything.. we call it cholar dal and it is meant to be sweet and spicy.. u didn't put sugar but that's of course up to ur choice.. anyway it is a famous street food in bengal we love to have cholar dal with luchi/poori.
