Most people don’t realize that the average winning BJ hand is a little over 18. That’s why I always hit a 14 15 16 vs dealer 7 or higher.

Other players will always affect your hand. That’s 2+ cards potential changing yours and the dealers hands.

@@drww2x995 The idea is over the long run, players will hurt your hand just as much as they will help it. So while in the short term, it may seem like the player to your left took the "bust card", they could have just as easily taken a good card from the dealer. Over the long run, you'll lose the exact same amount of cash, regardless of whether the players at your table are expert counters or total morons.

Also, consistency has no affect on the player, though basic strategy with proper playing deviations if you're counting should be followed to a T. No exceptions for "gut feelings".

You tell one story of a guy playing against the book that hurt you but I’m sure there were instances that night that helped you too. In the long run it doesn’t matter how others play their hand just how you play your own hand. Don’t be the gambler who blames people for your losses.

Of course others affect the hand good or bad I don’t ever hit 16 but you need to stay consistent on that. You should never lose more than 3 hands in a row. If that happens switch to three hands. The house wants you to hit every time the dealer shows a ten you have to look at the table and what’s out. If everyone has a ten and a shit card you know for a fact the dealer has a ten and a shit card. Let him bust also if the dealer delt a bunch of tens in a row you can assume he has a low card under so the ten up means he’s gonna have to hit. The days I win tons of money is when the dealer busts and he’s showing a ten. Then you have days you have to hit because the dealer always has 20. You have to adjust your game to how the cards and how you play to how the cards are falling. If a dealer isn’t busting you know you have to hit more to make better hands so you have a better chance. I can win having a hand no better than 5 just as easy as you can push with twenty one. Great example I have a 2,4 and the dealer shows a six pretty good chance the dealer has a ten under. If I hit I know I’m most likely getting a 10 and then staying. So I will stay on my 6 and let the dealer bust. I have found doubling down a soft 18,19,20 you will make more money than doubling down 11’s you lose most days doubling down 11’s more times than you win. Also if I’m playing multiple hands and I have two back to back doubles downs I will see if I hit 21 on the first one. If I do I won’t double down the second one, if I miss on the first one I will double down the second one looking for a push. It’s like splitting aces I usually don’t split aces unless it’s early in a shoe because your most likely only pushing instead of Winning one hand. I usually win 4 or 5 times out of seven i have never lost three days in a row ever the most I have won is 11 times in a row. I have started out with 100 dollars and cashing out 5-7 thousand dollars so many times I can’t count. If your starting out and your down 300 dollars or more get off the table and find another one because if your play 25 to 50 dollars a hand. That means you lost 6 to 12 hands way too many. Just like if I win 2-4 hands in a row and a double down opportunity comes up I never double down that’s just the chance for the house to get most it back. Win more hands then you lose you win money I play my hands in sets of ten I need to win 7/8 out of ten hands to hang around. If I’m winning 5-6 hands I leave because I know when it gets real bad you can be down to winning 2-3 hands then you know you will be losing more money than you win. Last don’t drink ever it’s a business you need clear thinking

statistically if you are playing like that, the math will catch up to you, hitting on 16 against a dealer's 7 or higher is meant to just make you lose less, as it is the worst hand you could really have, you may be up now, but if you aren't counting and playing perfect basic strategy, the house edge will catch up to you
