I really never thought I would be at a stage of my life when I would say "this housing estate used to be all fields where we used to build our dens". But here we are! This video has brought back so much nostalgia for me up here in Manchester. Thanks for uploading
Yeh your correct that was indeed open fields and once called the vale. You could cut across to the old railway station where my brother and I spent many happy days exploring the old buildings while our father was at the old drill hall now called Franklin hall.We even tried walking along the old track bed towards Firsby but didn’t get far because there was no bridge across the river only a pipe of some sort which we didn’t fancy clambering over.
Lee! I remember coming round your house on the corner and playing Master System down Woodlands ... i guess two nostalgic people fancied a trip down memory lane ;) Isnt it weird how its changed and yet somehow not?
In the opening part of the video I used to walk to school and back every day for 5 years on my own or with my younger brother from woodlands avenue to Holton road before my parents moved to Louth. Can you imagine that today no chance but in those care free days you could go anywhere and no one would bother you.Great memories of growing up in a great little town where everyone knew each other.
Thank you Robert for sharing your memories, 😀 like you say no chance of walking that way now 🙈 pleased you enjoyed watching, have a lovely weekend 🌞 CMW 🚶🚶🚶
Hi, thank you for a nice guided tour of Spilsby, I fell in love with Spilsby & the decency of the locals, the historic buildings & life there after visiting a few times with someone who's parents lived 3 miles down the road from the town centre. I'm not in a position to pop up there as I'd done since 2016, so appreciate your UA-cam video for a virtual walk & visit to somewhere I enjoyed spending time at. Thank you and with kind regards.
Really beautiful and relaxing walk, I love your footage and I have to thank you because it is the first time I visit Spilsby and it is a really beautiful place 👍
Hi lovely walk around the town although very informative you forgot to mention the old railway station and line that ran through its was were the Bush garage is did you not know about it my boyfriend lives in hundleby lovely little place x
Thank you for watching and commenting, pleased you enjoyed the tour. ☀️Thank you very much for the information, I knew Spilsby had a station and line from Firsby but didn't know where the station was in the town. Hundleby is a lovely area to walk around too, must film there one day. Have a wonderful weekend ☀️ CMW 🚶♀️🚶♂️🚶♀️
That was a very informative and interesting walk, thank you, its very near to where I have lived for the last 5 years almost, its good to learn things about your home town, well done ...
Clean nature and classic buildings Your video is really impressive. Everything is beautiful. I enjoyed watching your video Thanks for sharing I also create a channel that introduces Korean landscapes, food, and lifestyle. I hope to encourage and support each other and develop
Ambridges Chip shop is the ONLY ONE in the area sadly so no competition. And the quality is not as good as it was up to 10 years ago. Dont bother either with the Kebab shop opposite (to the right)as they have also gone downhill in Quality but up in Price.
As a local of spilsby it is a beautiful quiet town, love the wander around.
Thank you for the lovely comment, pleased you enjoyed my wander round your town, 🙂, have a great weekend 🚶🚶🚶

Would you recommend living there? What about secondary schools? Was there only one grammar school that you say is now closed?
