This video has been requested by a lot of you for quite some time now. I have been putting it off because even though my story had a wonderful outcome, it was still a very upsetting time for me and I wasn't sure how to explain it. But with Marlene's situation, I wanted to tell this story and offer a bit of hope and motivation.

What a great story, i recently lost and found both of my rainbow lorikeets one was only missing a couple of hours but one was missing for 5 days before they landed on someones head a suburb over. Healthy and happy.

I lost mine before 4 days.....she used to come back everytime but this time my uncle took at his home at my absence and she flew out from there... Probably she was just want to fly back to me... But she lost the way back... I just got hope after watching your video... Prayer for my DRAGO (parot)... I really miss him too much 😢......
I lost my lineolate parakeet who decided to fly away on and found him after 22 hours. Here are the things that helped: Post on every social media and group at least 150kms away (yes I kid you not). Right away scan every single street and play the sounds of the bird's favourite person sounds.
In our case, we scanned every single street on rotation during daylight but one street that we thought he was least likely to be at. Turned out that he was in a tree all night. The next morning he decided to fly to a family who contacted their daughter who was 150km away to help find the owner. The first thing she found was a facebook post about him in her city. My bird was home within an hour once he was found. Good luck.

I lost my parakeet this morning. 😢😢 she can't fly properly since her primary wing feathers are cut and she was left on a tree in my backyard for a short while and she disappeared I checked all my neighbors and everywhere in my house but still couldn't find her I miss her so much

I have a 3 year male ring neck parrot who is very friendly and loves attention. My wife and I just had a baby and keeping him is unrealistic in out one bedroom apartment. We really want to find a good loving home for him. He deserves more attention than what we can give to him right now. I would greatly appreciate your help. We live in Los Angeles

I lost tina(conure) 3 years ago because i gave her to my mums friend coz they didn't have a bird and i had school so ye.Her son opened the cage door and took her out (their windows were open)she bit him he though her against the wall then she saw the window and went for it i know all this a my mums friend witnessed it all.I will always love you

I had a bugie named Blinky. He was a blue one, couple years ago in January he wasn't doing his tricks! (Fly through a hoop and say his name)
Anyway! Late January, my dad found him lifeless in the corner of his cage... Few hours later my dad dug him a hole and it was sad to see him go...😭😭😭

I have a question please answer if you can, I recently got a macaw and I already have a another bird she’s really tiny (she’s a ornate lorikeet) and I spend an equal amount of time with the both of them but my ornate lorikeet is picking her feathers because of my new bird, my dad won’t let me take her to the vet so, I don’t know what to do!
Hi Maddie! Sorry for the late reply, I am just seeing this comment now. For feather picking, there can be a number of reasons for that! The bird can be stressed out, or bored, or have feather mites. Seeing a vet is very crucial to any animal's health. I hope your dad changes his mind because it's so important. And when birds pluck out their feathers and aren't treated for it, theres a chance they will lose that feather altogether because it won't grow back!! Have you tried separating the birds? Keeping them in different rooms may help reduce the stress level. Not all birds get along, unfortunately!

I lost 1 cockatiel i was at school and he was so sweet with my he would alway be with my mom but one day he open his cage and got out he flew so high but after that my mom din't see him again and when i got home i got the bad news that he flew away and my heart brake because i knew i wasen't gonna him again 😔😔

Loved your video and I’m sooo glad that you found you beloved companion but if you are actually talking about the exact bird in the video then he is not a Ringneck Parakeet,he is actually a Alexadrine parakeet! They look alike to most people but there actually a LOT of differences!!
There are a few different ringnecks. Theres Indian Ringneck, Alexandrine Ringneck, and theres also an African Ringneck. This bird is an Alexandrine ringneck and I've had him 20 years now. Thanks for the comment I'm glad you enjoyed the video!!

Any tips to find him?
Each situation is different. In my case he was very close to home and within eyesight for awhile. If that's the case, then you can always put the birds cage and some food out and see if they will climb/fly down when they get hungry. But this doesn't always work. A lot of times the bird is too scared and isn't focusing on food. Another tip would be just as I explained in my story, about how we utilized a fire truck ladder to try and get to him. Its so heart breaking to lose a pet. Especially a bird because they get so high and so far in a short period of time.

There's no way to force a parrot to talk. Keep talking to them and hopefully one day they will talk! :) Sir William here used to talk when he was a baby, then now as a an adult he doesn't want to. It's literally up to the bird!!

I am so sorry to hear you lost your bird! Never lose hope. Theres always a chance of getting him back. Stay positive. Post ads in newspapers. Post ads online and social media websites. Call around to all the nearby vets and let everyone know you are missing a parrot. Give as much details as possible! Just dont ever give up!!!
