  • In this rather dry video, I discuss what ownership of a Tesla without a home charger is like, the inconveniences, as well as how we as a family are able to own a Tesla without being able to charge up the battery each evening.
    If you want to buy a Tesla as well, please support the channel by using our referral code! This will give both of us supercharger miles, and I'll put them to good use when we go on road trips and camping.

    Thank you for this POV, I’m in the same boat. Buying a house in the modern day full of inflation is not not easy. The apartment life with little charging is very challenging but you called it, work offices and public places are the way to go

    I'd imagine if you live in those co-ops in Oakland Gardens without having a work place charger, then owning a EV would suck. Most superchargers are in paid parking garages here.

    nice video as always brudda, was wondering does MYP have 3 modes for Chill, Standard and Sport or just Chill and Sport? I'm confused b/c i know in some updates things got changed up and i recall on the LR AWD there's no sport just chill and standard. Also is your wifes parking for staff only or visitors?

      Only have chill and sport. No more standard. Parking is available to all, but gated for building hours only

    If you don't have charging at home but you can charge it at work then it's not really a ptoblem, is it? I think you missed your own point.

    I live in Florida and it's hot all the time. I found that the use of A/C is really good. Don't pull much off the car. Now in winter time I do see the heating system draw 2 to 3 times more. Thanks for the info.

    First comment! I almost forgot about this channel. I watched it for Golf R content. I still own and love my 2017 R.
    My next new car will be electric. Gonna wait for someone to make a proper electric wagon (come on VW, bring us the ID Vizzion wagon here in the US!)

    @zed4me How is it during the winter and snow storms. How much battery do you lose?

    • @zed4me
      @zed4me  2 роки тому

      Tesla is the best when it comes to cold weather efficiency. I lose about 20% range in the wintertime here.

    @zed4me Are you in the NY area? I am in the NY area and how is it during the winter when it is 20 degrees, heated steering wheel, seats on.. Would you recommend if this is someones only car in the NY area..

      If you have access to level 2 charging at work then yes it's easily doable but not if you don't have access to a charger while at a location you have to stay at for a few hours a day

      @@zed4me I now work from home, also in healthcare however, there are TONS of superchargers within 2-3 minute drive near my building. I have to look for level 2 charging stations and see which ones are free. I am not sure how to find that out, maybe I will google.

    So you can afford an expansive Tesla but cant even afford to put down on atleast a townhome with a garage? Maybe its just me but priority is a little off here?

    • @zed4me

      Everyone's situation is different. I'm living where I am currently with a clear timeline for moving out due to my work situation. If I lived in a nicer townhome with a garage I'd have less money to buy a Tesla so I guess thanks but I like to choose how I spend my money?
