This was the very first song I heard written by Paul Simon. I've been in love him ever since then. That was in 1969. I have collected all of his song up to now.
I'm a 19 year old Japanese.
"Sound Of Silence" is the first song I can play when I buy a guitar! I decided that the first song I would play was the song of my favorite artist.

Paul Simon is my favorite songwriter and this song is one of the best songs written of all time. The lyrics are more poigniant now than ever.
everything this guy did was and still a serious influence on what I do. a totally underrated guitar player.
This was the first solo album made by Paul Simon in the UK in 1965. Art joined him the following year. 1966. I have this album up in the loft.

Listening to this version again after many years of listening to Simon & Art's version is a tremendous joy.
It has made me look for parallel versions like the one by Disturbed, or Pentatonix, or the recent one by Tom Ball (this version is amazing), on America's Got Talent... But like the original and the first ones in conjunction with Art Garfunkel, none...

@jyork5004 This is just Paul's acoustic guitar and voice. It is so pure and Raw. He puts so much into it. The disturbed version is solid. But it can't touch this version or the original.
