  • Raised with a strong sense of right and wrong but no sense of Catholicism, Jeffrey Kirby’s faith caught fire. His search for a closer relationship with Jesus led to the priesthood.

    Thank you from the bottom of my heart Fr. Kirby. Your wisdom resonates with me and your journey is remarkably touching.
    I feel that I too have been Christ haunted. I want to serve the poor and bring everyone to Christ. The personal decision for Jesus Christ is all that is all about. ❤❤❤❤❤❤

    Fr. Kirby should have a class for parish priests to teach them what and how to say and deliver their homilies. Show them how not to be afraid to say the truth. And, how to guide their parishioners behavior in the Church, etc. Father Kirby, you are excellent in these and many other areas in which we learn from you, thank you!!

      Same here my friend in Catholicism also retired! I wish Fr Kirby were my Parish priest instead I have to put up with a lot of mediocre and watered down malarkey sorry to be so critical I'm just a newer Catholic and I'm somewhat disappointed in what I have to listen to in masses and the general behavior of this particular Parish I expected to listen to a lot of serious homilies but instead having to tolerate a lot of mediocre watered down narrative

    I found Father Kirby during the first months of the plandemic. He's one of my online priests I've been highly blessed by. He also is one of my priests that are included in my daily prayer for priests. After watching this I have even more respect and love for him.
    Of course I jumped on to the Morning Offering as soon as it was created. It's a great part of the start of my morning.
    I hope his Parish knows just how incredibly blessed they are to have him as their Shepard. 🙏🙌🙏💝

    Once again, another good conversion-story episode, that entertains as well as strengthens in the Faith.
    Without intentionally going against the Magisterium, I have a tendency to feel and think that since Vatican II, we have gone perhaps too much in the direction of Sacred Scripture, and that we ought to try to regain something of the catechetics we had in the Church prior to Vatican II. Catechesis seems to be pretty much dead in the Church, with people instead thinking we can replace catechesis with bible study.
    Probably in large parts of the third world, Catholics generally don't have access to a bible. How are they going to fulfill the supposed moral obligation to read the bible? There is also the issue of illiteracy: people need to know how to read, to read the bible.
    The great thing about the Catechism, is that it distills Christian teaching with clarity and precision, without obfuscation, with modern sensibilities, using the rich heritage of Catholicism from the past two thousand years. The bible doesn't do that so much (it is already a weakened source because of it being two thousand years old), and appears often at times like a puzzle to be solved, which explains partly why there are so many different biblical interpretations within Protestantism. For these reasons, I say that the Catechism is generally more important for individual Catholics than the bible. And Church history seems to weigh in my favour, in the sense that in the past, pastors and parents sought to give good high-quality Catholic catechesis to their flocks and children, but not to make them experts in bible literacy. As for Catholic formation, I tend to think you can get away without having a bible, but you can't so much get away without having the Catechism, or at least the catechesis that comes from the Catechism.
    I think there's a danger that we are too influenced by the 'bible bashing' of Protestants, especially in the Anglo world. We have to be careful not to become too bookish, escaping into heavenly realities regaled to us through reading Sacred Scripture, turning our Faith into something intellectual, high brow, and elitist, where we become 'ghetto like' and insular, not venturing out into the world where though there is muck and messiness, it is also where we can better keep the commandments, and so where G-d really wants us to be.
    Pope Francis has said something like there's been a collapse in catechetics....

    When you've abandoned yourself into His hands, you see more how you disapoint Him rather than how He disapoints us. I'm 71 and have lived my life as if I was spiritually bipolar, and am trying by His grace to be faithful. So I know that I have to put everything in God's hands and on his heart, especially my familly. My youngest son is now prison, and when he told me he was about to go, I prayed with him and I know God is using this to pull him to himself. About a week after he went, he phone me and in the conversation, told:me he read the Bible from cover to cover in 4 days and night. My son had never read anything but recipes. Never read a whole book in his life. And although I didn't actually doubt him, he proved it to me when he said laghingly: " Mom, that's one violent book!" and after this, more seriously: " There's:a lot of repetition!" If I had any doubt, they flew out the window.

      Catholics are born again based on the 2000 years of correct teaching of the church Jesus founded

    • @atgred
      @atgred 6 місяців тому +5

      Oh yes, the “have to be born again” Protestant argument. Look, for us Catholics “to be born again” means to be baptized. So, that is a done deal! Now, if what I think you are referring to is a “daily conversion to Christ”? Well. All Christians must do this every day. But if what you mean is “catholics are not christian and most certainly not saved”, you’ve come to the wrong comment section and you won’t convince no one with this type of comments. Yet I wish on you all of God’s blessings in your life!!

    • @richardcastro1276
      @richardcastro1276 6 місяців тому

      Seems like you didn't even watch the video. So you went directly to the comment section.
      If you only saw the beauty of Catholic Church.
      All Catholics have to be baptized if that is what you mean. Or not sure if you mean First Communion, Confession or Confirmation. Those are the 3 sacraments you might be missing.
      Join the OCIA and become Catholic. You have time, there must have been a reason you came to a Catholic UA-cam channel?
      Let's all pray that Ted converts to Catholicism, since he has come to ask us for his attention.
      Our Father who are in heaven hallowed be thy name, thy kingdom come, thy will be done on earth as it is in heaven; Give us our daily bread. Forgive us our tresspasses as we forgive those who trespass against us. And lead us not into temptation, but deliver us from evil. Amen.
      Lord, please help Ted see the truth so he can experience the full truth of the church. Amen.
      Folks please quick prayer for Ted our brother that came knocking at our door.
      3x HM's. 3x GB's. Prayed.
