Certain places have better conditions for not having to use certain treatments. Where there can be bad humidity, mold and mildews can form. Where it doesn’t rain, and is really dry, like Sicily, it’s easier. It definitely depends a bit where you are. But many times it could be done but winemakers want ‘insurance’ it’ll all be ok and they won’t have problems (aka lose money).

The weather factor is a key in that kind of approach. In rainy regions it's not that easy. But solutions exist
