As a kid I didn't have internet or access to any car magazines, but then I got a hand me down magazine of the XC90 from my uncle. It looked really cool before and now it's cooler. It's like really cool now that it's now a hybrid and I hope in the future there would be a pure EV version.
This is one of the best reviews i have ever seen, the scenery, presentation and ambiance you give this beast of a machine :) Excelent content is what i see here sir ! Thank you, and you got a new sub right here !
Damn, the drone footage is amazing. The nature is so beautiful and the Volvo looks stunning. It is unbelievable how agile this car looks, they really did a great job. As the lease of my little french car expires next year, I am already looking for a new car, and damn, Volvo and Polestar is very tempting. My favourite still is a Tesla Model 3 because of the autopilot and the content software update. But Volvo with the XC40 Recharge Pure Electric and the Polestar 2 are very tempting as well because of their leasing conditions. We will see what it will be in the future.
We are a Volvo for life family. And I have a 6 year old model S and a 6 year old v60. It is tempting to move to a one car family but both our cars are paid for. The v60 has R specs and polestar upgrade the seats in the volvo are amazing. We bought the very first, off the showroom floor test car. It is Specced with some cool features. Like the cross country chrome and awesome wheels. We love it The Tesla is just beautiful to drive. The Volvo is more fun If we didn’t want to save money forever we would jump at a new Volvo. You can’t beat the seats and comfort in a Volvo
Kyle! Wow amazing production on this review.... 👍 next level production! Did not know the XC90 was so good, would be nice to see how it stacks up to the Audi Q7
I pre-ordered a Mach E GT and my wife got the new car bug (on top of how good the used car sales prices are right now) and bought an XC60 T5 Inscription with the advanced package, got an amazing deal on it since it was a demo unit and she got a crazy deal on her trade in. I'm in LOVE with the Volvo, if the Mach E GT comes in and for some reason I don't want it, I'll be looking at the Volvo's next. It's unbelievably comfortable riding in her car. She doesn't even have the Bowers & Wilkens sound system and it still sounds really good.
Thanks for your review. I agree with your comments and can confirm your comparison with the Range Rover. I actually had a 2019 Range Rover Sport p400e plug in hybrid and went back to a 2021 xc90 recharge T8. Everything in the Volvo is better. From the seats, size, sound system, power, safety, autopilot, vision, handling and ride comfort on air suspension also. My Range Rover was 50% more but definitely not worth it. Numerous glitches ....Screen powered off numerous times, charger got stuck which needed to be manually unlocked under the bonnet. One other thing, to be picky, the cup holders are rubbish. They cannot even hold a soft coffee cup, the cannot hold a bottle of water in the door due to square bottle holders. Then you cannot get anything out of the door when the door is shut, due to the seat tight up against the door. Just poorly designed ergonomics. I love the recharge r design in all black.
Good comparison! We are considering tgr T8, Aviator GT, and on the back burner is the 400e. The XC90 is still tops not unless Lincoln gets way better and the discounting is good. We currently have a 2018 Cadillac CT6 2.0E plug-in with 40 miles of battery range and it is more than enough for daily tasks. So the plug-in at 20 miles would still work for us.
It'd be really cool to see an in-depth comparison of different cars/manufacturers driver assistance tech. You describe Pilot Assist as one of the best systems you've used, but I've heard people say the same thing about Autopilot, Supercruise, etc. as well as the system in the Mach E. I'd expect this to be really difficult to put together but it would be great to have a back-to-back-to-back comparison in controlled conditions and see how the lane centering, ACC, collision avoidance, etc. compare.
As a T6 XC90 owner in the past and X5 now, surely the big Volvo was impressive driving in the twisties, countless trip in WV and Alleghenies…. Almost matches the X5 in handling. Precise steering, but a little more feedback would have made this a BMW beater.
This is the first time that I’ve heard an engine’s sound described as fruity or agricultural and I’m honestly still not sure what that means. Excellent review, though. It sounds fantastic for the segment. I think it would be nice if the driver assistance segments had a little more depth in order to get a detailed comparison to other implementations within the segment. Specifically, I’d really like to see details on how the visualization works and how smoothly it handles transitions in lane markings. That would really help me to understand the strengths and weaknesses of each implementation.
Well, in the lower revs, the engine can sound a little bit like a diesel. Not always though, only sometimes. It caught my attention after a couple of weeks since I had the car. When you really rev it, it actually sounds pretty nice. Fruity is not an adjective I would choose for that. I'd call it sporty.
Great video sir! I've got a 2019 Inscription T6 that we absolutely love. Looking at the T8 Recharge next year, it's a tough call; just like you said. I certainly have loved our first foray into the Volvo brand.
Maybe set the camera facing forward in the middle of the cabin or on the passenger eye level, it might be better for viewers to get a better feel when you're driving
Watching this in 2024 now that you can get one of these used for closer to $40k. We’ve been Tesla exclusive for 4 years now but our growing family needs more space and I’m thinking the T8 Recharge makes the most sense for us.
Amazing review! This was a major influencer for me getting an XC90 (albeit a T6, not a T8 Recharge). Could you PLEASE cite the music selections in this video? At minimum, the intro/outro song. Probably would sound awesome through the B&W system!
Beautiful review. Probably the best I have seen of the xc90 TB Inscription Recharge and I am an owner of one. (along with a VW ID3). And yes more range on the battery and that is it really! Driving anything else feels like a demotion to me
I am now in the process of purchasing my 4th Volvo (2021 XC90 T8 inscription). My last a 2020 XC() T6 inscription was deemed a total loss last week due to an encounter with a very big black bear. The reason I have loved my Volvo was just because of this ,car a total right off ($46,500.00 +airbags) driver nary even a bruise. You talk of the Volvo not sounding a sweet as the Range Rover and I think the Porsh but when you look at the MPG (l/100 KMs Canadian) may change your mind when you do not pass the gas station

@@laloajuria4678 no sometimes you just want to talk to someone. Why do you think so many people ask simple questions in the tesla forums? I had a strange issue on my v60. Out of warranty he will bring the car in check it out and let me know if there is an issue or in one case it just needed a reset. No charge. Compare that with tesla. At Volvo Judd will call me. He will save me a loaner or offer to have someone drive me home and pick me up. Or since he knew I was coming he can get my car in the back right away and see if I may be able to wait. J would rather have a person. Even when I had a volt. Chevy had better service
On a reveal I just saw for the XC60 2022 model it noted there will be a significantly upgraded infotainment system that includes Google Assistant and Google Maps incorporated into it. Since the XC90 shares the same platform can it be confirmed that by waiting a few months for the 2020 version it will have this upgrade as well? Also anyone know when order for the 2022 model can be placed/delivered on European Delivery? ( I am guessing 2022 will be the last model year of the XC90 that will be built in Sweeden before the all new model is built in the U.S.)
Amazing review! You've got a new subscriber! Just one question. How luxurious is the ride quality (with air suspension) vs. say a full Range Rover, Range Rover Sport, Lexus RX450h. Anybody know? Thank you!
Well, sorry Lexus. I was waiting for your GX redesign and hybrid model for too long. You lost me. I'm coming back to Volvo after 20 years break, as they are listening their customers ))
Is there regenerative braking to recharge the battery? Or, when the battery is depleted, it's done until you plug it in? When the battery is depleted, that means you'll no longer get awd since it's the only thing powering the rear wheels?
It does have engine charge, meaning the car engine can charge the batteries but never to full charge. You just have to turn that on though. Guess it may take more gas to do that.
@@Sir_Gizmo91 You can charge it to 100% with the engine, no problem. It's not wise to do so because it takes a lot of gas.
