That's crazy Ed, mad how this setup is that old already. I had a mate that had one and it always fascinated me. I'd have to look if you can still buy this. Nice review after several years!!!
I’ve got an inflatable pillow with a thin foam casing. Inside the casing I put a magnet, and I put another one inside the pad sleep, so the pillow stays in place. Works well for the most part, especially with the 5.0 version where you’ve got a little hole in the top of the sleeve to deflate the pad. I just reach in and place the magnet. Then I can adjust it easily by moving the pillow manually. Also my sleeping bag I tuck it in between the side tissue and the straps. Otherwise it’ll fall down and I don’t want my down bag wet or dirty
Brilliant video, mate! Just got my 5.0, and it seems there are just minor changes. And I thought about it: It is pricey... !!! BUT... if you look at it differently, it's only 2-4 nights in a regular european hotel, and these lasts for many years.. not just one night.. 🙂 At least that's what I told my wife 🙂Had my first try-out night at my terrace last night, and I haven't slept this good in years!! Even if it was 2 degrees outside!! Can't wait to use it on motorcycle trips around Norway this summer, and the years to come!! Brilliant hammock!! And brilliant video!
@@ECWoodlandCrafts yeah I’m forever hopeful mate, the full set up with tarp, hammock, air mat and small poles to hold ends out comes in around £500 with postage, one day maybe
@simongeorge3643 I believe that sticks can be used instead of the poles and any mat the right size with ridges running lengthways can be used, which can help reduce costs. It's still very pricy for what it is.
Great stuff. You should get years of enjoyment out of it. I didn't like ground sleeping very much but there's some great air pads out there now and I love it again.
@@ECWoodlandCrafts my almost 60 year old husband can still do it with ease BUT he too is now looking at hammock camping!!! Can’t wait to get out and explore again.
Cool to se a Draumr 3.0 still going strong after 7 years! Nice video 🌲😀
Cheers. 7 years is certainly a good testing period and its been used in all seasons 👍
Draumr is my dream camping solution! I don’t have one but I’m falling asleep just looking at it 😊
Good thing about the 3.0 is the footbox stops the sleeping bag falling out unlike the new one. Great Hammock.
I've been grateful for it on a number of occasions. Thanks for watching.
Have you experienced that with the later versions? Just curious. Thinking of getting the 5.0. Cheers!

Yeah, the times gone fast. They still sell updated versions but I don't think they still do this one.
Already laughing out loud to you to the thought of you flipping out the back....😂😂
I managed to catch my foot on the ridgeline so I was suspended upside down making it even more comedic 😂

Great idea with the magnet 👍
Thanks! Have a great one
Great ad for Amok 👍🏻
I'd certainly get another when it eventually fails.

Thanks mate, you make a good point about the price. It's a good way of looking at it. Enjoy your amok, I hope you get many years' usage from it 👍
Saving! Love that Hammock!
I'm sure you'll love it and you already have a suitable airpad that'll fit 👍
Looks like a nice bit of kit, everything has its ros and cons
Yep, one day someone will invent the perfect set up 😁
Great vid! Where in Scotland do you camp?
Thanks. This was just above the Cairngorms near Elgin.
Great review👏🏼 You got a sub🍺
Thank you 😊
I’d love a Amok, keep looking at the website and dreaming but can’t bring myself to pull the trigger on it, big investment but so want one
They occasionally come up on ebay or Facebook, its worth keeping an eye out for one, good luck 👍

Thanks for sharing, I can’t decide what size I should get. How tall are you?
I'm around 5' 8" and have room to spare with my older model. Thanks for watching.
Thanks a lot for sharing your thoughts and experience. May I ask you how tall you are?
Thanks a lot, greetings from Germany,
Paul
I'm around 5'8 and I know taller people who fit in fine. They do an extra large version now as well.
What kind of pad do you use ? I have a NeoAoir sleeping pad and wonder if it could suit ? BR
I use an exped pad. I believe any pad with straight baffles is suitable, but you're probably best to check the amok website.
Just ordered my 5.0. At age 50 I’m gonna start camping again, I stopped cuz even in my 20s I disliked ground sleeping.

Is it comfortable when sleeping on your side?
Very, and it's good for front sleepers as well.
