In this film we explore the revolutions of the remarkable decade that was the 1990’s.
The music, television, technology, and how one photographer in particular almost single handedly changed our concept of ‘ideal’ masculinity.
And we witness how the rise of the female Supermodels in the late 80’s and early 90’s paved the way for male Supermodels.
The blossoming of gym culture in the early ’80s meant middle American manhood was primed for self improvement, by the 90’s we were putting in work to get those six packs and ‘guns’.
Many experts say it was photographer Bruce Weber and his work in the 90’s with Jeff Aquilon, Marcus Schenkenberg, Alex Lundqvist, Mark Vanderloo, and Tyson Beckford: who lit the spark for a cultural revolution
Whew! Credit Carrie Otis for being such an informative, insightful spokesperson of the subject. I wasn't expecting it. Bravo Carri!
Carre is an amazing person inside and out
@Fashionindustrybroadcast her name is Carré
So bad a Genius like Bruce Weber don't work anymore for Vogue... Now is full of photographers with no Idea what people really like!!
We agree, this unfettered power of 'cancel culture' is a blight on humanity. If someone is guilty of a crime, the courts should decide if there is guilt and administer the penalty.
A lot of the time these genius’s are absolute monsters. Sexual assault is no joke.
@@Fashionindustrybroadcast if the courts should decide he shouldn’t have settled.
@@geeunit831you're right SA is no joke but what is not joke is lies that are told in the industry that ruin careers. And as someone that works in the industry and worked with some of the top clients in the industry I can confidently say a lot of male photographers and designers have been wrongly accused. The only fault of the industry is instead of coming forward and speaking up we instead keep quite because we dont want to look like we're not supporting a victim when we know full well they're not a victim at all. And the reason why these top male clients get accused is because people would like nothing better then to tear down the industry its elitist not everyone can be apart of it so anything negative your regular person jumps at the chance to agree. Most of the negative things you hear about the industry isnt true
@@acetrap Oh please, sexual assault is rampant in the fashion industry and has been since it's inception. When you have powerful older rich men in control of beautiful young and impressionable models you tell me who is more likely to be sexually exploited out of the two.... The fashion industry has been littered with sexual predators from the top all the way to the bottom and I know this because I've worked in the fashion industry from a teen til now (I'm 39) the horror stories are endless and the sad thing is people like you who downplay the dark side of fashion and try and sweep under the rug all the disgusting shit that goes on. I'm sorry but I'm not like you. I'm not in denial and I will not ignore it or keep quiet about it.
What about Jack Scalia?
Camo was fashionably in during the Vietnam War ,because Veterans had no other pants , or money to buy others . Also Army Navy Stores were everywhere and they were affordable fashion hip fashion the 60's -80's.. Fashion always comes from the street .
Yes
All the fuzz about women earning less than men. So, shouldn't men earn the same as female models? Equal rights just for one side?
Tell the men to fight for it.

Trump! 2024!
As if Kurt Cobain was the only influence in Grunge movement. 😤
Kurt was the coolest looking, the most high profile, and he brought the style to the masses. He became a pop culture icon like Marilyn and Elvis before him. He transcended mere music and 'grunge'.
very entertaining
