Your mouse might be zooming in because the scroll wheel is not locked. Usually there is a button to lock it so small hand shakes doesn't actually cause the scroll wheel to move.

No, wireless is still way worse on input delay and can bug out like yours, due to failed command recognition. But each to their own with that one. If you say the delay is worth not having a wire to work around, all good too :D
