Liking the 2 min series. I so appreciate brevity and getting to the point. This info on wedges helped hugely. My gun is printing on the slide side. I now i how to place the wedge. Much Gratitude!
Holy cow...amazing. Been carrying for many years and never knew wedge placement can help with grip rotation. Great camera work too. Was really easy to see how wedge was working.
The concept of a wedge is awesome, especially for men/women who are smaller in stature and have difficulty concealing even the smallest handguns. I was in a Bass Pro Shop and the guy at the counter had no idea what a "wedge" was, and my local gun shop scoffed and gave me a funny look when I asked if they carried them or had any recommendations on them. Thank you for introducing the idea, it's definitely on my list to add to my set up soon!
GIRL. This is awesome information. I'd been wondering what exactly the deal was with wedges. This was very articulate and easy to understand. And as a small business person who is constantly feeling pressure to produce more content, I'm inspired to use 'Two Minute Tuesdays' as a way to share info. LOVE IT. !
Very well done content without fluff. Videos like this are a great bite-sized resource to help us guide new gun-carriers without intimidating them due to a video length, depth and nomenclature beyond their experience, or a host's appearance or attitude.
That layer between skin and holster is crucial. I wear a 32 Degree under/t-shirt beneath whatever outer shirt. It wicks moisture and allows my thumb to slide smoothly down as I grip & draw. “Don’t leave home without it.”
That was very informative. I honestly have never heard of the wedge so thank you👊. I just have to remember to Keep my stomach tight that much more to keep from printing as I carry AIWB. I have also noticed that the proper belt will also make a world of difference. Great 2minTuesday😃
Foam Clay is an air cure foam for sculpting that you can use to make a custom wedge. It's usually used for Cosplay type things. It sets up pretty hard eventually so not a soft spongy wedge but more of a custom molded soft plastic. Velco doesn't stick to that well however. But definitely a way to make a wedge that is custom to your body shape and the holster.
Thank you for that short video on wedges. I learned quite a bit about them. I didn't realize moving the wedge side to side was useful. Now I know more. Where can I buy wedges? Is there more than one supplier?
Just ordered that variety pack Mastermind pillow wedges let's see if they're as effective as firmer wedges and hopefully more comfy sitting for long periods of time lol.
Welp.. Those Mastermind pillow pads aren't workin out so far at all, going to take a loong time for them to conform to the body after 5 days of wearing the smallest one (I ordered the multi pack) it's still so fluffy it looks like I have a chubby so awkward I can't even wear it outta the house just at home to break it in and even have weights on it at night to smash it down a bit.. I'll be sticking to the standard tear drop foam or a clinger flat pad.
Thank you, it was excellent. Yesterday I was attempting to figure out placement on my new holster that attaches to my PHLster Enigma. Have you tried other style wedges? Did the tear drop style seem to work best?
I have tried other wedges! Although, personally, when I'm wearing the enigma, I don't need one as much. There are so many options out there, you can even DIY them with a yoga block or even a Dr. Scholls heel insert (Melody Lauer Mod). Dark Star Gear even sells a number of differently shaped wedges you can check out. The amount of wedge, shape of wedge and location of the wedge is going to look different for each person, so don't be afraid to play around with it :)
The only time I've noticed discomfort with a wedge is if it is too narrow, while also being tall. A tall and thin wedge can create an uncomfortable hot spot, it should have enough surface area to disperse the pressure appropriately.
How exactly do you know when to use a wedge VS tightening the enigma/ holster ? If using the enigma, I use it and felt my pistol is very flat against me already? Is it smart to get a wedge Anyways? To hang onto? I’m 5ft 10in 210lbs, just saying I feel that my body~ meets my holster just fine,,,,, but I’ve never used a wedge. I have a Wing on my holster? Does that work enough?
Not everyone needs a wedge :) If you don't need more grip tuck or slide tuck then you probably don't need a wedge! A good way to figure that out could be taking a picture of your set up from the sideview. If the top of your gun is tipping further away from your body than the muzzle, you'll probably want to try a wedge :)
@@tessahbooth my Iwb holster came with a flat wedge and zero instructions and nothing to tell where and how to attach the flat wedge it came with. And I still don’t know where to attach it
I have used yoga blocks, shoe insoles and yoga mats for years to make wedges and holsters more comfortable for as many years as you have been alive. No way I'd advise people to pay for company made wedges when instead you can save tons of money and make your own. Maybe take more than two minutes and if that is problematic sorry.
Yep! There are tons of awesome ways to DIY wedges, but many people don't want to take the time to DIY something, and would rather purchase something already put together. The tear drop wedge has been a crowd favorite, so I feel very confident recommending it. It too can be changed and customized. Two minute Tuesdays serve a very real purpose, so I'm happy to keep certain topics to 2 minutes. Nothing problematic about being brief here :)
That's funny, because men tend to need and use them more often than women... it doesn't sit on your junk. It can actually make appendix carry much more comfortable depending on your gun, holster, and body shape.
Not really, you just have to place it on your holster in the right spot! Try to get it set on your holster in a place that ends up off to the side of the boys.

Good idea on the 2 minute videos for the simple stuff. Good tips on the wedges as well.
Never heard of or seen this addition before! Thank you for the great introduction and explanation.
Love this! Thanks for getting to the point and choosing your words wisely which means no excess talking.
I thought it looked like a big nose at first, but I'm sold. Very good presentation.
Would love it if you could list the other gear you are wearing, such as the belt, holster, etc.. Love the quick info. sessions!
Love the 2 minute sessions. Can u touch base on cross-eye dominant shooting, and ways to practice
Great info! Always appreciate you sharing your experience!
Loved this!!!! So helpful... definitely think this is what I need to help with printing !
Thank you! Finally got a wedge to try and needed a quick confirmation on where to place it.
Like the 2 minute video format and the wedge one specifically.
The concept that there is more to CC than drop it on you pants and deal deal with the unconfortableness is ...great. thanks for sharing
Thank you, this was EXACTLY what I needed. Couldn’t find any good holsters that came with a wedge. But I am going to buy one now
I like the 2 minute Tuesday series.
Thank you !!!!
I was having some issues with printing and the holster flipping foward.
Great demonstration.
I ordered this and its terrific. Besides helping with printing, it also adds more comfort to the kydex holster cushioning it against my body as well.
Where did you order it from?
Oooh really like this short and to the point video
Bam! Perfectly said in a timely manner!

Can you talk about optics? When One should get them and what to look for. Also weapon mounted lights.
great video. clear and informative
Great info on the wedge... will be getting one... Thanks!

I think I'm going to look into these! I always have trouble with my gun printing.
I like the wedge video. Thanks
I like it. I think I'm going to move my wedge over to the optic side after watching this video.
Very cool, very swag; I like it.
Another awesome video, honestly 1st cat I've seen breakdown wedge placement so precisely.. Know who's videos I'll be binge watchin today 😂 👍 💪

That depends entirely on the person, lots of people use wedges with their enigmas :) I don't, but my husband does.

Same general concept 🙂

I have a belly, do I need the wedge?
I find that people who have more of a “tactical muffin top” gain the most benefits from using a wedge 👍🏻
Where can I buy a wedge?
Most major holster company’s sell wedges these days! You can also DIY a wedge. PHLster has a DIY wedge video on their channel that might be helpful 🙂
