Thank you! The video ran longer than I wanted it to but I didn't want to cut out too much. Sometimes the experiences of conventions are every aspect. The guests, the autographs, but also the friend time. And also the pizza and beer. lol
Thank you so much Tim! I definitely needed the time away from "normal life" and it was just what I wanted. So much fun. And also happy I got the video for it done. The one I made after last year's show was never finished. I think I might still have the raw video. lol
This is so cool. I never went to a convention. Has your friends ever came to your house to hang for a week? That way you guys can see each other at least twice a year.
If you can ever get out to a convention, even just for a day, it is worth it. It is so much fun. I should have people come visit me but the thing is - I usually like to visit others a lot more than having people visit me. Haha But yeah, I need to make efforts to see them more often in any way.
Hey Richard that was a pretty neat flashback weekend a couple weeks ago wasn't it? I was there Friday night I believe I did see you hopefully next time if you're at days of the Dead in November but I see you I'll say something. I finally got to meet Adrienne barbeau and Nancy Stephens. Of course I didn't get a picture with them because they were charging extra.
That is so cool you were there! Definitely feel free to say hi next time. Friday nights are always fun since they feel more laid back. And hopefully you saw sober me and not after hours me. lol I wish the charging extra for pictures wasn't such a thing now but it seems to be becoming the norm with conventions.
@@RichardDiaz I was here Friday that's all I was there for I used to go one day a week and spend on Fridays the last couple years. I've been noticing that as well that most of the celebrities now are charging for the selfies at the table which is a shame. But I'll tell you one thing if it's some of that I really want to meet I might get the selfie particularly if I ever meet Neve Campbell when it happens then I'll pay extra for the selfie. I heard there's rumors going around that there's going to be a scream 4 4K release happening
It really was! And I needed it too. Been a stressful year so it was a much needed break from everything. Plus I finally got the Halloween III 8 x 10. How did I not already have that?! lol
Thank you a ton! I was a bit cautious since the video was as long as it is but I didn't want to cut out too much (I did cut out a little lol) but conventions and weekends like this are fun and deserve a little extra time. I definitely needed last weekend!
Great video Richard! The photos are so amazing. It's always so much fun to just hook up with friends and do stuff like that. Tom Adkins calling your name is a cool thing. I would have been thrilled as well. Wow.
Thank you so much! It was needed and I missed my friends a lot so hanging out with them was just what the doctor ordered. Maybe not a doctor. More like a bartender but still. lol The Tom Atkins moment literally made me freeze. One of my favorite moments of the whole weekend for sure.
Thank you! I actually filmed but never finished a video after last year's show so I made sure I did one this year. I love sharing these moments with everyone. Plus it is a nice way for me to relive it. I needed the trip for sure.
that is a cool photo with "The Thing" actors. I feel old -- I was 16 years old when that movie came out. I'm glad those guys are getting out to the conventions and experiencing all the love for that movie.
Thank you! I was happy to get the idea at the last moment to point to each other. A little silly but now I love the photo even more. And I am also glad those guys are getting out there and doing conventions. I think they were all happy to see so many fans. I don't think any of their tables were ever empty.
Keith is great. I wanted his and Adrienne Barbeau. I hope I get to go next year. I should be able to. The coolest person I got to meet at a convention was Lisa Wilcox from Nightmare on Elm Street 4 and 5. She has always been my favorite final girl. I'm so glad that she was so sweet to me and listened to me ramble and fawn over her. Christine Elise from Child's Play was really cool too. I really want to meet Tuesday Knight. She gets so much hate for absolutely no reason. I'd also really love to meet Don Mancini some day too but seems like his always really busy with the Chucky films/series
I totally agree on Lisa Wilcox, such a sweetheart. So happy you had a special time with her. It's always great when we meet people and they turn out to be cool. I've been lucky that way. I don't think I've ever had a bad experience with anyone. A few people you could tell were tired and not as talkative but I never held that against them. Hope you can go next year!
@@RichardDiaz I'm hoping to make it to Flashback or Monsterpalooza next year. I really need to stop buying so many movies and start saving so I can go. lol
Hi Richard, sounds like you had a great time! The autos look great-and that Keith David quote is hilarious 😂 I feel the same about picking out photos to get signed. Usually try to get the person by themself over a group type photo. I've never really wanted a cast signed piece. Few years back we met the kids cast from the original IT and we picked out all diferent photos to sign. Been trying to cut down on con spending here as well-so I know where you are coming from. Once in a while I still like to get multiple from a celeb depending on the photo or item, etc. Thanks for sharing the weekend with us!
Thank you! When my buddy recommended that They Live quote for Keith David it was an immediate yes from me. lol That is so col you met the cast from the original IT! I would love to meet them. Trying to cut back in spending at conventions is hard with everything going up. It has been a few years since I went to any convention and actually got every autograph I wanted. Budgeting is getting harder with everyone charging more now.
Fantastic stuff! So happy you had a great time with your friends! That is great news! Sounds like a blast! Atkins always seems like he'd be cool and laid back. Back when I used to go to conventions I met some really nice celebrities. I had a friend who'd always buy a table to sell comics. It's better as you get dealer passes and can sell some merch. Only drawback is you have to watch for shoplifters. :( Still it's not horrible.
Thank you! I really needed the weekend too. I think after the first half of the year I needed a break from things and it was everything I wanted. That is so true about the dealer passes. I have actually debated getting a table at a local show or two to sell a few things. I'll have to weigh the pros and cons of that but I think I should try it at least once.
@@RichardDiaz If you can get your friends to go in on the cost it's totally worth doing. You all get in earlier than the crowds, and can stay after the crowds are forced outside (for a little time). Only drawback is having to keep someone at the table. Happy birthday! I have three cousins who just had birthdays! Hope your weekend goes great!
It sounds you had a lot of fun in that convention. I've never been to a convention before but want to. That photo with Tom Atkins was awesome!😱 You should frame it.🤗 Those other photos with the autographs are so neat it's great that a lot are of Tom Atkins. Thanks for sharing your adventures at the convention Richard!👉🏼🙂👈
Thank you Hector! If you can ever get to a convention it is worth it. Something so special about being at one even just for a day. I am definitely framing the Tom Atkins picture! I'm glad I got those extra autographs from him too. I didn't get any from him the last time I saw him and I regretted not grabbing more outside of what I already had. Now I have and I am happy!
Dude, you are so lucky you get to meet all these awesome celebrities. I would so love to meet Tom Atkins and what an amazing moment that he knew your name and called you out. That was bad ass. I would’ve been totally nerding out as well lol that’s a special moment for sure. It must be wild, running into people that know you I imagine it’s certainly humbling lol Love the fluffy outfit in the crate that’s so awesome. Great video, hope all is well.
Thank you so much Matt! You have been having some amazing convention experiences too. I hope you can meet Tom Atkins. He is so awesome. And yeah, that moment when he called me out definitely made me feel like a kid. In a good way. lol
The original Terminator audio track is mono, not stereo. I think you probably have a dual-channel mono track, not actual stereo. There was a Hemdale Home Entertainment stereo remix at some point, though. I remember my first laserdisc of the film was mono and I think most VHS copies were as well.
Good point! I'll have to see what the audio is on the disc. Maybe it is just dual mono. I really hope the upcoming 4K release has the original mono track. I'm sure it'll have a new Atmos remix which I'll enjoy but I really want the original mix on there as well. Here's hoping!
@@RichardDiaz Unfortunately there's a surround mix with a lot of the original effects replaced. It stood out really bad. I remember the first Sarah Conner that's killed at her home had the sound from Arnold's gun replaced with something totally different. It's really distracting and takes you out of the film.
Oh right! Been awhile since I watched that but I completely remember that now. That's what I'm worried about that will be on the 4K. Just the same remix and nothing else.
@@RichardDiaz You know, I'm thinking the most recent Blu Ray release had the original sound effects put back. I could be wrong about that, though. They did the same thing with Hitchcock's Vertigo for the Harris/Katz restoration (back in the 90s?). At the beginning of the film where a cop is chasing someone on a rooftop and he fires on the suspect, they inserted a completely different-sounding gun fire effect. It caused a bit of an uproar with fans so the original effects were restored for the film's Blu Ray release.
13:09 The third channel, it's still on. Please, take off the third channel. The third channel, it's still running. Stop it, please, for God's sake, please stop it. There's no more time! Please stop it. Stop it now. Turn it off! Stop it! Stop it! Stop it! Stop it! STOP IT! 😂😂😂
