Observe the construction of the Andalusian village architecture behind the port restaurants and shops. Affordable apartments. Yes this is alot of luxury brands and yachts, local ownerships, but mainly because set up for yacht stops from elsewhere in the world, yet it's also very affordable for everyone else, for all types of people. They're getting pretty old, but people remodel it all, and the outside is well upkept. This is ALWAYS hopping at night, but it's also families. Think that those with the super mansion vacation or permanent homes, yachts can be brought or sailed with them to Marbella. People just love to see it all, and basically quite safe. The food is very good, but have to be careful about the waterfront restaurants tourist trap type of places. Better to go to the Andalusian ones that have been around for a long time, Others can be eclectic contemporary, usually sought by young people, and the yacht crowd. It happens. Personally I usually have eaten elsewhere and then have drinks there. Get over it all soon. I love the beachfront hotels and the restaurants, unless buy a place, and with friends make day and weekend dinner plans with each other. La Costa del Sol has over thirty golf courses. Used to, if not less or more. Lot's of nice peaceful neighborhoods up in the mountains behind, with beautiful sea views, and some with membership golf clubs up there. The mountains behind Marbella, and Africa below, is why has a microclimate. Great mild weather almost all year round. No heated swimming pool necessary. Spanish beaches don't have anything like the hot humidity in The United States of America. Seville is the worse for that one, because of the big river and The Atlantic Ocean. I just don't do Atlantic Ocean in Spain, even if have white sand beaches in Cadiz Andalucia. Mediterranean Sea for me, and also feel safer swimming anywhere in the water, especially the east coast of Spain.
