a good addition to this lesson would be to talk about how many hours one would have to work at various different wages to pay for those things - minimum wage, with a college degree, with a trade, on youtube, etc. That would encourage and incentivize them to strive for an education and ultimately a good job. you don't really know the value of a dollar until you have to work for it.
As much as I love you guys so much, I'm not sure the kids fully understand the gravity of what you were trying to teach them or maybe the reality check of what you were trying to show what they (like most kids) take for granted. It seemed like they were more focused on winning a game than grasping the fact it costs $60 for your family to JUST get a lemonade. I could never fathom the figures you're dealing with, and those amounts were for the basic necessities. Not any of the extras in life. Bravo to you Jared and Shelley that's alot to balance every month. I hope as the kids get older they can more understand the value of money, ways to save and maybe sacrifice in areas, and how much they would have to work a minimum wage job just to pay for your water bill.
They will understand the value of money as they grow and have their own jobs but the values in this video are completely unrealistic to a normal average family. Even for these kids they will never had to pay this amount when they move out. More about content than proper life lessons
I dont think it should cost how much they are spending for groceries because i feed 6 ppl and we spend about 340 a month on food so i feel like they should only be spending around 800-1k a month on food. This is a budget issue and like maybe they need to use store brand items. I only shop at winco now.
Oh my I would have never pay for that much for a power bill my highest is no more then 220.00 in the summer and we have it set at 75. I live in Indiana in the winter is like 140.00 my grocery are so high here for just three people we send like 500.00 a month on are power we live in the county so my water is on the power bill. Are cell bill is 206.00 for 5 phones on consumer cellular with a aarp discount.
The best way for the kids to get a full grasp of money is to give them a monthly budget for all the extras they enjoy. Give them cash, not a card. Actual, physical notes and coins, have much more meaning. Older kids should have a budget (credit card loaded with their budget ) to spend on themselves. And when that money's gone, it's gone' til next season.
maybe next you should invite cynthia or lizzy or harlan or spencer to talk about exactly how much they make working the service-industry jobs they do, and how difficult it is to budget! they need a sense of how many hours of standard work goes into making money, youtube is so different than those jobs! :)
I'd have some reminder signs around the house for the kids. A big one next to the garage door. Some on the fridge door, a laminated one - and a timer in each shower. Education is key, and giving them tools to succeed, is so important .
Maybe you should have days where the kids shop and pay for their own lunch or dinner and prepare their own meal. That would give them an idea how much groceries cost for a single person and also teach them how to cook in smaller portions (which is something I remember Lacey saying she hadn't been prepared for when she first moved out).
I’m highly disappointed in the comments section. They had a fun game that will ultimately have the kids thinking about prices the next time they do something. Yes the video was loud and chaotic, but they’re a big family that is vocal and everyone feels free to voice their own opinions. They’re kids. They’re learning. I’m sure they had a more serious conversation off camera as they don’t need to show the internet everything they do. Crazy middles you’re doing a great job, and keep teaching them valuable lessons!
Aubrey keeps her lights off, so she contributes to the lesser light bill. As for the silverware, I had a system. Buying sets for each child, therefore that is the dish set that belongs to them. Also, the dishwasher and putting them up. Easy finds on who's responsible. Also, old school cloth napkins and washing them. Kitchen wash duties.
Not sure the kids got it but this needs to be a reality check for the parents. Your kids throw away silverware and plates and won't eat leftovers, you guys! Please teach them because while you parents can afford a more lavish lifestyle than most, all your kids likely won't be able to afford the same lifestyle when they grow up. They can learn now about being smart with their money and respectful in their spending. I learned so much from my mom about how to manage household finances, like what to spend money on and where it's okay to skimp. Money management is a life skill and a necessary one in today's economy and more so in the future.
I don't want to be negative but I got the impression Addison didn't care about any of it and the price that your paying for her to have a good life.. I came from a childhood of having dry cereal and having pasta and gravy (uk gravy granuals) because we didn't have enough money for food my mum worked 3 jobs.. I would love to have a childhood like your kids do.. much love from uk
They've addressed many times that Addison comes off as bratty on the video but she is actually one of the most grateful kids in the house, personally I think it's because of Addison's type of humour.
I love this family. I love the lessons you teach. Is however, Could you go back and watch this video and see what kind of chaos it sounds like to us on the other end. It just seems like everybody's constantly overtaken everybody and yelling and we can't hear anything that's really going on LOL. Maybe when you have a family meeting they could raise their hands so everybody's not talking at the same time and we can understand what's happening. Don't get mad I'm just stating a fact.
agree. it is difficult to watch with everyone overtalking each other. fine for your every day, but when you are filming , please be aware of what that sounds like to a viewer. Anaveah had the right idea to raise your hand and speak one at a time. This would allow more time for parents to give the 'takeaway' for each category. (ex. how much does food cost= only take what you can eat, and we will be having 'left over nights' for dinner). Also, I was wondering , do the children get an allowance, or any kind of pay for video time? it seems like some of the snack budget could be cut down if children were expected to buy their own snacks (of course this only works if they have access to money somehow)
These kids are clueless about money and cost of expenses. And to hear that they don't eat leftovers was astonishing. Not leading by example is part of the problem. Going out to eat on top of that monthly bill is wasteful in itself.
You should make leftovers into a competition or game for a video - everyone has to make the leftovers more exciting, maybe by adding some fresh veggies, or baking something with cheese that was previously done on the hob. Not eating leftovers isn’t something that should be accepted, if some kids don’t find it appetising the next day, teach them how to make it interesting again. I feel like that would make a fun video and would help teach them imported life lessons! When they move out, they likely won’t be able to afford to just throw away leftovers, and it’s so bad for the planet! ❤
Very aware some of the kids may have had issues with food because of their past, so no shame, just meaning it’s important to teach them that it’s not okay just to waste food ❤
I think it's hard because I remember hearing in the past that a few of the kids (I think it was Anavaeh & Braxton and a couple others) due to their past have a really difficult time with food that's been left out, if you go back and watch some of the adoptions stories (I think it was Aubrey & Addison's or Lacey's) they were fed like spoilt food most of the time which is understandable as to why they might not find it an option. I think in this case it's okay for them not to eat leftovers just more about them taking less at the start and only coming back if they want more afterwards.
I worked in childcare for over 20 yrs and have worked with many foster children and foster parents. I have seen some awesome foster parents and some that were not so great. I believe that your family did the best thing by putting that child’s needs above your own. I applaud you for talking about the hard things and for opening up on a topic that was not easy for you to talk about. This is one of the big reasons why I love following your channel, as well as crazy pieces. I have always wanted to adopt/ foster for various reasons it’s just not in the cards for me. It brings me so much joy to follow your family. It is obvious to me that those children are loved and cared for.
I love that you treat the kids, especially because clearly you can afford to, but I do think some of the kids are getting a bit complacent about money, I know videos don’t show everything, but often when you go to the grocery store, or to get something specific, a lot of the kids end up getting something else just because (eg a toy, some candy, drinks etc) and I wonder if just knowing they can kind of always get things, doesn’t make them understand the value of money. I wonder if having a budget (even if you don’t need one - congrats!!) or saying if I buy you XYZ, that is the same as 3 hours working at a minimum wage job in a restaurant or something, is that worth it?
Try doing a left overs night! I work for a nutrition service and food is still good for one week after you make it. Example: if you make a meal on a Friday it is good until the following Thursday. Many don't count the day it was prepared and you need to. You can get those little round stickers and date the left overs. When I was younger I actually loved left overs night. You got a little but of everything that was made that week. You might be surprised that if you heat it up and set it out...they will eat it. If they don't want it, a sandwich is the only other option. Nothing "fresh" is made that night. Might be surprised as some things are better in leftovers!
@@lisameyers6497 Aware. Just thought they should try it!! Often the reason kids don't is no one fixes/warms them and they don't know how! You might be surprised when done!!
this is a great idea. I used to do this with my family once a week(when my kids were home) We called it, Smorgasboard !!! We would line everything up on the counter and then people could choose what they wanted and then heat their plate in the microwave Cut down a lot of food waste
Yes also leftovers always taste better reheated in the air fryer or stove or oven! Never use a microwave!! Just another tip! I would love them to create a video doing this for a couple of meals 🥰 love from Toronto ❤️
I don’t have kids but my nieces and nephews were the same way. I remember being like that as well when I was their age. I think you’re doing a wonderful thing to teach them the value of things. I would have loved for someone to teach me when I was younger. I learned when I moved out on my own.
All the money in the world could not pay for the smiles on these kids faces and I’m a fan for last five years and what ye have done for these children your place in heaven is solidified thank you
Fun video but the kids really didn't take this serious at all so we can't tell if they really learned anything or cared We do love this family no matter what!
I am a frequenter of the movies and I have the AMC A-List Stubs. $25 a month and it's unlimited screenings essentially (3 per week). I think that having the teens have something like this for themselves that they can either contribute to or have as a part of an allowance would be a great thing for you guys! I can't imagine having two or three kids in this economy, let alone 10 to 21!
Great lesson! Kids have no idea what things cost until they have to pay for it. Asking them for ideas on how money can be saved/stretched is much better than telling them what they need to do. It seems to stick better when they come up with the solutions themselves.
Something you should teach them also is the prices of these things in your family but also the average wage of people! Here in Canada I make about $2030 american dollars, so if I paid your power bill I would have about $400 left for rent, food, necessities, car bill & everything else! I heard a few say that the power bill wasn’t that bad, but it definitely is haha. Money is not easy to make.
i think they meant not that bad for a house of 12 people but they are clearly trying to teach them about money, they said at the start they think they're being wasteful as well.
@@madeleine2830 I get that (but that much for 12 people still is a lot a lot), but I’m saying when they move out and get regular jobs and regular 1-2 person bills it will be different - so thinking that $1000+ isn’t much because they are well off in the family they’re in, they should also be taught about the financial situations they may be in in the future based on what their salaries may be and the bills for a regular family. For example in the crazy pieces you can clearly tell that when Alex moved out, he was struggling financially and wanted to move home
I found a good way for my kids to eat leftovers. Put them in individual servings. You can put them in the fridge for a few days or most things in the freezer for up to 3 months. You could even do a fend for yourself dinner night and they can pick a meal out of the freezer.
Hello Crazy Middles Hope your doing great 😸 ! I have a tip for your Silverware. You should give everyone their own personal one and laser inscript them with everyone's name this also can be done with dishes. Everyone is responsible of his or her own silverware and it helps to take better care of them. Hope this helps.😊
For starters, I could never live in Arizona. secondly this video is pure Caio’s. Everyone talking over everyone. Loudness galore. Speak one at a time….Thanks.
Wow that's alot . I cut cable I stream only free stuff ... Cut off lights when not in the room. Eat out less I save around $300 a month . Minor changes can make a big difference
I am so glad you had this...I have thought for a while that y'all must have an ever ending source of money, and maybe you do. I stopped watching your sister's channel when it seemed the kids got everything they wanted...all of the time and were not thankful for what they had. That's not the reality of things I hope. I do think that maybe you should have a challenge (with only one winner) that for one week you saw who could not waste money...catching them turning off a light that was left on (that they did not turn on themselves); not asking for food, or special snack, drink, etc. when going to the store; figuring out which streaming service you really aren't using and getting rid of it; not complaining about asking them to drink water when you go out to eat; closing the garage door when someone else opened it; etc. I am sure you can come up with your own. I am not trying to be critical...but you probably need to do something more than just have a meeting that not all took seriously. Give them a budget for the day when you go out to eat (drink included) and see if you can make it in that budget...if so and they are under the budget set aside that amount in a "jar" and see how much you are saving. You can do that with everything and then use that "saved" money for helping someone in need. Y'all are very fortunate that you can afford the luxuries that you do have. I have always admired your family, but lately it always seems like it is out of control. If you really want them to not waste stuff give them an allowance for all of the extras (even if they go to the store with you) except for movies (not once a week though). And you may give them an allowance but we are always seeing you giving in at Walmart and other grocery stores. Gosh, it sound like I am being critical and maybe I am but I am trying not to be critical. I love you guys, just think y'all could DO Better. Thanks for putting yourselves out there.
Jared and Shelley you are amazing for helping the kids understand how much it costs to survive these days and also sharing tips with them that can help save money I hope.my kids pay attention when they get home and see you posted one thing that saves me in bama is our utilities have water sewer gas and garbage includes
Good afternoon Crazy Middles.. So good to see you.. ❤❤ One thing my mother use to do and I did as well Wednesday was left over night. You could not make something different you had to have a leftovers. I stop every streaming service but Amazon. I watch mostly You Tube.
@abcdefg216 we cook extra and then the next day we don't cook we only eat leftovers I.e. curry and rice and next day we take the curry and make snackwiches/toasted sandwiches 😋 saves time and gas.
Here's an idea my mom would do this every Thursday we would take all the leftovers from all week and heat everything up and that's what we had for supper. My mom called smorgasbord Thursday.
They got to help the kids get over whatever they feel about leftovers lol , maybe they think it goes bad but if its properly stored you can eat it for 3-4 days
A good game is the allowance game. You set an allowance for the week and have cards with all the expenses for the week. A list like a shopping list with prices where they have to meal plan and buy the food they need from the budgeted amount. You make sure there is a little left for a small treat. But add into the pile extravagant things like meals out, clothes, trainers. Put them all on cards like a card game with the amounts on them. So if they pick a meal out the cost gets deducted from the total. In the end go through what they didn't pay like no electricity means no phones, no food, no air conditioning etc. not paying rent no house. Have they managed to set meals for the week or wasted money on treats. It really drives it home.
I feel like a few of the kids understood what your going to try and teach them, but felt there was an entitlement behind it and they simply did not understand the point of this. Sadly teaching them is making them understand by them having to earn certain things instead of expect it.
Im very glad to see parents really teaching the kids on fiances and spending. Because when you move out and you're alone. It gets harder and you have to take what your parents say and really use the techniques that they were shown.
You should see if you can find a class where you can learn to make Mexican food and have Aubrey go with you. Nothing tastes better than home made Mexican food!
Great idea but I am not sure it really sank in. Maybe you could try to get the kids to put up their hands when they want to speak so everyone is not speaking over each other and everyone gets the chance to be heard. Maybe you could give each child at the beginning of the month play money that has to be use to help pay for the expenses that where discussed so they can actually see the reality of the amounts.
Other ways to save: don’t be afraid to buy generic brands of food, they are often packaged by name brands and taste just as good. Also I found paying for streaming services annually upfront saved money over paying monthly.
I have $100.- a week for 4 persons. (Included snacks and so on!) So in your case that would $300.- Maybe the kids try for one week to do that? I felt of my chair when I heard $60.- isn't bad for one drink each.
I'm 🤯 how much is spent on bills. Than again you have twelve people living in the home. Our monthly food budget is three hundred dollars, (without any outside help) for a family of three. We buy alot of fresh items. Our expenses are low alot because I'm on a lifetime 98% liquid diet. My go to drink is Carnation Breakfast with Protein. I'm so impressed how you handle so many things at once. Have you guys tried a whole house HVAC system? I don't recall if you've covered this before. We had to buy a whole house generator. We had a polar vortex (-20F to -40F) that we went through for two weeks. Luckily at that time we were on a hospital grid. Because of that when we moved, that was a must. I'd love to see each of the older kids living in your home to individually do a weekly meal plan and grocery shopping haul!
So respect you both for showing how much things cost monthly and then asking how they could save money. Would be interesting for you all to redo this one in say 6months time, and seeing if there is any difference over that period. Blessings.
Remember this is what we see. Someone makes supper, but then you have those that eat someplace else or the kids (not all) snack too much or make themselves something else. On water you also have a pool and with the heat there. Electric, while you were recording the light in the hall was on. I know you just changed out some light fixtures. Perhaps change to those that come on when you walk in and then shut off when no one is out there. When buying lunch meat I put that in a Tupperware container after purchase. I also paid the older kids cell phone just until 25 years. On another note. I loved seeing Landon on crazy pies vacation. He was out there doing things just heck yes let's do this. Loved this so much. Love you all. Stop going out to eat soo much. What happened to the family trip?
Great video. Give each child money ( not a lot), have them shop for dinner to feed all of you. They have to get everything needed with the money they are given.
We were told to use less, turn off electric after finish and with water . Don’t stand there running the water. We were given 10 minutes for showers . We were 4 . Telephone was also hard 1 phone 6 people .
I used to not think that leftovers sounded good, but after living alone and cooking a big pot of something with the intention of eating it for a few days and freezing some portions, I realised that they're generally just as good and very convenient. I think cooking a meal with the intention of having it over two days, and not calling it leftovers, might make it appeal more? And if you have some meals that lend themselves to it, you can always freeze leftovers in portions and might be handy for a different day when one kid doesn't like what is on the menu - they can still have a homecooked tasty meal, rather than just a basic alternative. One thing I do when baking to save money, is not pre-heating the oven right at the start. So often the recipe tells me to preheat the oven, and then do all the prep, and by the time I have the thing ready to go in the oven, its been on pointlessly for about an hour. Usually I put my oven on just before putting the cake mix in the tin, or portioning up the cookies onto the baking trays, because it only needs about 10 minutes to heat.
This was an awesome video, love that the kids can actually see how much os spent and understanding it, especially with y'alls large family i know is very expensive.....Everything is thru the roof...so they need to know ❤❤❤
Leftover macaroni and cheese can be recooked in scrambled eggs as a new food. Then it isn't like eating leftovers. Reinventing leftover food can help a lot on the budget. Ikea has silverware reasonable. A set of service for 4 for $4.99.
Another idea would be to use one of the adult kids monthly costs to show how much their single or at least smaller family needs to make it through an average month since a lot of families aren't as large/don't live in such big houses (re: electric, water, food costs etc.). That said, it was so great that you sat everyone down to go over costs. I have always thought there should be a mandatory class in high school about budgeting and all lifes expenses that exist from rent to food to insurance etc.
I would say that if they can eat leftovers then the reward should be eating out but wasting that much food and money is wild. A thing that might put things in better perspective for them is having them volunteer at a homeless shelter or kitchen to see what kind of privilege they live in. I would say hearing Addison talk about eating out and not paying likely means she has very little concept of money. Hard to say if they're all like that but I wouldn't be surprised.
Place your leftovers on top of the garbage cans in the restaurant district or outside the strip mall or whatever. There are hungry people living outside that will happily eat them while they are still fresh.
I was a little surprised at some of the costs for your family. The one thing that popped into my mind was the meals that are having the most leftovers, need to be reduced when cooked! If all of the meals prepared start running out then increase the amount. Try to NOT cook LEFTOVERS or Learn how to do a "Clean the Fridge Meals" a couple times a week.
You have amazing family. Living in California our groceries are expensive. About $350-400 month for us. We don't go out as much we watch movies on Netflix.
I love that make the kids aware of how much things are costing and starting them young I wish my parents had done that .... 1600 power bill is crazy but yall do have a big house with a large family and also maybe its different in Arizona 🤷♀️ I'm in Georgia in a 2 bedroom and my power bill is around 200$ right now
one idea is have one meal just left overs and what's left to throw out and not cook a meal for that dinner. Make that as no exceptions to substitute something else and use up the leftovers. I usually do leftovers for lunch anyways. but everyone has different tastes so it may not work for your family but that's what we did when my kids were growing up. We usually do this on Friday or Saturday dinner and start fresh for the week on Sunday.
Wow that’s a lot, not sure the kids took much of this in! But also, leftovers are so good usually for lunch the next day, they need to start eating them :)
IKR blew my mind they don't like leftovers ...& that's ok🤔 Then "they like to eat out a lot". They might like it doesn't mean they have too. Imagine a month or two of not eating out anywhere, no movies (or those with jobs paying for their own phones). Who throws away silverware!? I think revisit this in 6mths to see if any of it sank in. At least I also learnt from this is I need to start a youtube channel if they can afford all these expenses.
@@bonniepearson5709 I’m lucky that someone pays for my phone(business phone). Technically I’m homeless at the moment and can’t afford firsts let alone left overs.
There is absolutely no way I would have survived if my mom and I didn't eat leftovers, we had to it was just my mom and I and we could not afford not to eat leftovers a day or two after we had the food.
I live in mid Michigan and there are people here it will take any food they have left over that are still like in the containers pans or whatever and make little servings out for people and take them to homeless at the end of the meal, I don't know if they still have it they even had an app at one time where you could post that you have food and have somebody who might want it come pick it up.
Please don't take this as a rude comment as I definitely don't mean it that way, but maybe you could also do this activity with your older kids too since they're over alot. I know they would understand the concept since they live on their own but it would help them realize your expenses so that they can help conserve while they're over.
Your high school kids need to truly understand!!! Sorry but your kids aren’t living in the real world ! The no Nike world. No Stanley tumbler world! No Dutch Bros. for the week! Have those older kids be held accountable and responsible more. This vlog was very upsetting for me to watch.
It bothered me too, throwing these numbers around not recognizing they spend for groceries more than some people make in a month is a bit annoying. These kids have a rude awakening coming when this gravy train ends.
Living is expensive after dinner I always check the trash can for silverware someone was always throwing it away.I even found a plate in the trash it gets expensive. Since my husband passed away 3 of my 4 children live with me. I have 3 daughters and 1 son. We generally only eat out once a week. Sometimes things come up and we eat out other times . There was a water leak down the street and the water had to be shut off. We went and bought dinner . Another time the transformer blew . It's in the next door neighbors yard they weren't home and there gate was locked I had bolt cutters . The man cut the lock off and thanked me for the use of my bolt cutters . He said they would have to buy them a new lock . I told him I had lots of locks and I would give them a new one. Luckily it was the spring and the weather was nice so we opened our windows and used solar powered fans . Prayers 🙏 and Love 🤟 From Oklahoma

That's a good suggestion. Though the youngest ones would probably not understand completely.
I think that is a great idea for more of an understanding of how different people might live and how they might live once they move out!

I learned so much from my mom about how to manage household finances, like what to spend money on and where it's okay to skimp. Money management is a life skill and a necessary one in today's economy and more so in the future.
The value of money and not being wasteful, Aubrey turns and looks at Addison. lol
Saw that too 🤣🤣
@@pambrown2133you only see a partial. They address this issue. She does actually doesn’t. When you pay their bills you can tell them what do to do.
Well Shelly you did tell them there’s more at the store 😂 all jokes but I totally understand your point
I had the same thought. I don't love how they use that saying.
@@emmamendoza725 it’s coming back ten fold I do love how they teach them tho
I love this family. I love the lessons you teach. Is however, Could you go back and watch this video and see what kind of chaos it sounds like to us on the other end. It just seems like everybody's constantly overtaken everybody and yelling and we can't hear anything that's really going on LOL. Maybe when you have a family meeting they could raise their hands so everybody's not talking at the same time and we can understand what's happening. Don't get mad I'm just stating a fact.
Love them but agreed. I have a headache now😂
Also when the camera moves so fast. But LOVE this family.
Agree
@@chickpea734 me too
agree. it is difficult to watch with everyone overtalking each other. fine for your every day, but when you are filming , please be aware of what that sounds like to a viewer.
Lol, you learned how expensive it is to go out. Now lets all go get some ice cream.😂
Thanks for supporting us dairy farmers!
They mentioned none of them eat leftovers
We ate what was for dinner like it or not
@@lisameyers6497 Aware. Just thought they should try it!! Often the reason kids don't is no one fixes/warms them and they don't know how! You might be surprised when done!!
this is a great idea. I used to do this with my family once a week(when my kids were home)
We called it, Smorgasboard !!!
We would line everything up on the counter and then people could choose what they wanted and then heat their plate in the microwave
Cut down a lot of food waste
Yes also leftovers always taste better reheated in the air fryer or stove or oven! Never use a microwave!! Just another tip! I would love them to create a video doing this for a couple of meals 🥰 love from Toronto ❤️
I don’t have kids but my nieces and nephews were the same way. I remember being like that as well when I was their age. I think you’re doing a wonderful thing to teach them the value of things. I would have loved for someone to teach me when I was younger. I learned when I moved out on my own.
All the money in the world could not pay for the smiles on these kids faces and I’m a fan for last five years and what ye have done for these children your place in heaven is solidified thank you
That power bill is insane. Ours is less than$1000 for 3 months here in Australia
TEA TOWELS 🥰 best thing ever!! We only use kitchen roll (paper towels) in my home for greasy things or to cover up spills etc
OMG! And I’m crying about my power bill being $105.00 this month 😭
Great to see Bishop back in your video..
He was helping Kylie for a while but he was in a couple videos not too long ago
Fun video but the kids really didn't take this serious at all so we can't tell if they really learned anything or cared We do love this family no matter what!
eveyone talking at the same time made it so hard to understand lol!! love yalll x1000
Hey guys, instead of blaming the kids, maybe you could turn the thermostat up a degree or 2. You would be surprised! 😊
I love how they all support each other if there in trouble or not just Amazing siblings ❤Crazy middles
Lots of ice cream in the freezers, so you don’t have to go out for it.
The power bill is crazy high, my bill is usually 40-60 in the winter but 80-100 in the summer and that is expensive
i think they meant not that bad for a house of 12 people but they are clearly trying to teach them about money, they said at the start they think they're being wasteful as well.
Unplugging appliances actually helps with hydro. Power is still going into the appliance. Like toasters or coffee makers .
@@Missouri_Outlaw_1276 lol don’t watch them if you can’t handle it. I thought they were fine
@@aliciabellante6643 if you read through the comments you will see that I’m not the only one who thinks this.
Very interesting! The young folk learned a lot!
Have a smorgasbord night, heat up all your leftovers and let everyone pick what they wanna eat. Make old meals into new ones 💜
Good afternoon Crazy Middles.. So good to see you.. ❤❤ One thing my mother use to do and I did as well Wednesday was left over night. You could not make something different you had to have a leftovers. I stop every streaming service but Amazon. I watch mostly You Tube.
What a good idea I will start have left over days planed!
@abcdefg216 we cook extra and then the next day we don't cook we only eat leftovers I.e. curry and rice and next day we take the curry and make snackwiches/toasted sandwiches 😋 saves time and gas.
Happy Labor Day! 💖❤💘💝💓I love watching your videos. Thank you for sharing a part of your day with us!!! Have a great day!!!
Thanks so much!! Same to you!! thank you for watching!!
Love them so much ! My favorite channel! The most down to earth family vlog ever ❤
Here's an idea my mom would do this every Thursday we would take all the leftovers from all week and heat everything up and that's what we had for supper. My mom called smorgasbord Thursday.
I just commented almost the same thing.
We do this on Monday, because trash day is Tuesday (we do not have a garbage disposal). Anything not eaten gets pitched out.
They got to help the kids get over whatever they feel about leftovers lol , maybe they think it goes bad but if its properly stored you can eat it for 3-4 days
How much do you spend on dog food/treats, toys? Do the kids that have the dogs help with the upkeep?
What an amazing topic! This was one of my favorite videos. ❤❤❤
I love leftovers!! Things are often better the next day. More time for flavour development!!
Especially pizza, mac and cheese and spaghetti
I’m glad they are teaching them this.
U can put clothes line outside seen gets so hot there like jeans towels can put line dry out dry faster
Im very glad to see parents really teaching the kids on fiances and spending. Because when you move out and you're alone. It gets harder and you have to take what your parents say and really use the techniques that they were shown.
You should see if you can find a class where you can learn to make Mexican food and have Aubrey go with you. Nothing tastes better than home made Mexican food!
get some solar panels and the batteries to bank the overage power
Was thinking same. Especially if so hot they need 7 aircon units 24/7 😳
Love you guys, so inspired by what you do! Love from Ireland xxx
I loved how anavaeh kept raising her hand
Let's save money and go get ice cream! LOL
I haven’t been to a movie theatre in years(over ten years).
Me either...prices are outrageous.
You can save money on fruits and vegetables if you grown your own.
They used to have lemon trees but the storms took them out.
At the moment we growing a few things in pots , potatoes, green onions, and radishes. If these are a success I will be growing some more
This was an awesome video, love that the kids can actually see how much os spent and understanding it, especially with y'alls large family i know is very expensive.....Everything is thru the roof...so they need to know ❤❤❤
No eating in the room , maybe stop cutlery and that going missing
Wow I learned something too. Thanks for the heads up. Hugs.💕💕
Good morning all happy Saturday morning to you and I enjoy your channel and you are amazing supporter
Leftover macaroni and cheese can be recooked in scrambled eggs as a new food. Then it isn't like eating leftovers. Reinventing leftover food can help a lot on the budget. Ikea has silverware reasonable. A set of service for 4 for $4.99.
Love the game . However, when all the kids talk at once it makes it extremely hard to hear
I had to take my hearing aids out! Jared/Shelly, how do you cope with the noise? Jen 🇬🇧 😂😮😅
1600 power bill is crazy but yall do have a big house with a large family and also maybe its different in Arizona 🤷♀️
I'm in Georgia in a 2 bedroom and my power bill is around 200$ right now
one idea is have one meal just left overs and what's left to throw out and not cook a meal for that dinner.
That’s a good lesson for the kids. Kids don’t understand money and they’re very very peaceful..❤️🥰
That's great you teaching them right!!
Wow that’s a lot, not sure the kids took much of this in! But also, leftovers are so good usually for lunch the next day, they need to start eating them :)
Us poor people have to use leftovers
IKR blew my mind they don't like leftovers ...& that's ok🤔
Then "they like to eat out a lot".
When we shop we always compare the prices of groceries, clothing, shoes etc. We never just take off the shelf. It saves a lot of money.
I know at least Anevaeh and Braxton both learned about streaming services and cell phones costing money!
Another great vlog! Love you all❤
Do you use clothes' dryers routinely ? Those this use so much power. Or, is it just too hot in Arizona to dry clothes on a washing line?
I haven't seen a clothesline and was wondering same if hot enough to need 7 aircon units 24/7
Or do a left over night say on a Saturday using all the left overs for the week up xx
🙄 then don’t watch and scroll on by!
