The 1960s and 1970's were a booming time for the Strasburg Railroad. The line had cemented its reputation as a railfan's destination, with tourists from all over the country traveling to see what the scenic 4-mile line had to offer. During this time, the locomotives and rolling stock wore vibrant liveries of reds and golds, and even brandished the "egg" logo that the railroad used in its early years. Strasburg's ex-Great Western 2-10-0 "Decapod" #90 arrived on the property in 1967, and wore this iconic livery for decades. Fast forward to 2020, when the railroad is now celebrating its 60th anniversary, and the iconic "egg" scheme has made a return to the flagship decapod in a grand fashion. In conjunction with Christopher Pollock, Steve Barry, and Lerro Photography, the Strasburg Railroad ran a series of three photo sessions with the gaudy 2-10-0 to celebrate. Now, please enjoy this exciting video brought to you by Blue Comet Productions!
This video was filmed on October 17th and 18th, 2020.
When you hear 90s whistle blowing loud and clearly it sends a shiver down your spine. Those reading 6 Chimes are magic embodied in Brass and Steel castings. And they need to be blown just right for that perfect sound 👍
That’s me at 6.17 with the pipe! That was a really fun day!

Number 90 to me is one thing. From the way it looks, sounds, and even moves. Number 90 is the iconic image of a american steam locomotive. powerful yet graceful. She is the biggest on her line yet has a oddly simple qualiry to her. She reminds me of number 18 here in washington sate. A simple engine but a beautiful one.
Me and my wife just rode the strausburg railroad yesterday. Pulled by number 90 on the tour. Absolutely amazing.
Good video 1960's #90 🚂🚃🚃🚃🚃🚃🚃🎬📹💯✔🇺🇸
Absolutely amazing! Great work! Hopefully 90 is kept like this for a while so everyone who couldn't make it to the charter can see her
That'd be nice. I mean, 475 still has the centered-headlight look from last year, so it wouldn't be too far off to assume Strasburg will keep 90 looking like this for a good while.

It wasn’t lol
The camerawork is stunning 🤩
A very, very nice video. My maternal grandmother (God rest her soul) used to live out in Lancaster County, and would take me on the Strasburg Railroad when I was much younger. As a result, I credit that little short line (and a certain blue tank engine) for instilling within me a deep passion for trains and railroads that I still hold today.
Outstanding job! 90 looked beautiful in it’s egg logo livery, we’re going to regret not going to this for a long time, oh well maybe there’ll be another time in the future.
Amazing shots! I was there for the sessions on the 17th and it was an awesome first charter for me.
This Was uploaded on My Birthday Yesterday, Sweet!
This is great! Especially at 5:41 how you focus on the drivers instead of zooming out. Clever!
Great Job with this! I like the different combination of locations that were different from where the photo lines were.
In my opinion 90 should kept like this, The colors and pinstriping on it make it pop, and makes it look a lot more vibrant and lively
Super outstanding! I love #90 in its egg logo livery! It is so beautiful!
Awesome Job.
Amazing video!
Fantastic job on the shot at 2:49. Turned out a lot better than mine did. Great meeting you there!
Great video!👍
Feel like I’m on repeat here, but another stunner. You set the bar real high man...
OMG simply awesome video really enjoyed it. Very well done. I want to take a trip out to Gettysburg one of these days and The Strasburg railroad will definitely be on the itinerary Keep the videos coming. Have a great day everyone.

Great video once again! Wished I could make it but you sure made this event look so professional!
Outstanding work!
In All Honesty, I Really Love #90's Phase 1 Strasburg Paint Scheme. I Really Wish They Had Kept It Like That.
Man, 90 looks dope
Everyone gangster til’ 90 be flexing the egg logo...
Awesome Video Man!
omg i wish i was there!
Imagine mainline steam excursion operations coming back to life under steam again on the mainline in the future. It's upsetting how they aren't like this anymore! Who agrees with me?
Great steam train! Well done!👍
90 is a 2-10-0 decopad built for the GW in 1924.
It’s now operating excursions on the Strasburg railroad.
I should pay you to write descriptions for me
Ok. What if I told you the history of Canadian national 89. 89 was built for the Grand trunk western in 1910 originally as a GTW 2-6-0 Mogul. It served the GTW system before being renumbered to 89 and being sold to the Canadian national. 89 served the Canadian national and hauled trains until retirement.
89 was restored into operating condition and
was sold to the Strasburg railroad. Today, 89 is operating with 2 other Strasburg steam locomotives. Those being number 90 (Seen in the video) and number 475.
@@BlueCometProductions haha
54 years this locomotive has been at Strasburg
Nice one Chad! That framing with the couple and the car at Cherry Hill was perfect! Wish I could've been there for Saturday too. Guess it's my own fault for counting on 425 this year. You always know how to deliver my friend!
Awesome video! Btw I think I met you a few times I was the younger one there on the 18th
This is the fastest I've ever seen #90 go.
2:43 anyone know what kind of car that is?
Is there a way to sign up to be notified when events like this happen?!? I always seem to miss out on these awesome photo opportunities with railroads!
Yeah me to is there a way
Strasburg should leave the 90 in this logo. It's the best overall logo she has worn.
Next time you need to Point the camera at the locomotive! Cuz at 5:07 I HATE how you didn’t Point the camera at 90
I’ll remember that next time, once they clear all the trees, brush, and get rid of the hill that the 300+ year old cemetery is on, as well as tear down the brick wall of said cemetery
No, that is like, the best shot to get of the trains at Strasburg
Wow that was a nice coat of paint but now that is not a nice coat of paint now cousin 2022 that coat of paint is not gonna be there anymore that’s why I was answering oh also um 475 Like had a Southern pacific whistle

I know this is pollution but it’s badass pollution!
