6:33 autosmooth is not adding smoothness to your strokes (i'm 99% sure). what it does is gives you an average of the line that you've drawn, e.g. if you draw a zigzag pattern, it will essentially become a sine wave, which is to say it's smoothing out the *path* of the stroke, not the stroke itself, if that makes sense. This actually is why there is lag when there's autosmooth, because Blender needs to interpret the path, so you need to create the path first. the smooth brush smooths things out in real time because it has nothing to do with the path of the stroke.

You are the sole reason I got into Blender. Absolutely wonderful work and I LOVE the condensed quick guides without the fluff. My next big hurdle is animating a face but I'm not sure what to do. Do I use some sort of armature? Is there a weight/node option? I'll probably figure it out when I need to get to that step. But, again, thank you for the clean and tidy tutorials and guides. Very helpful for people that don't speak Blender (or have no prior experience with any engine this deep).

Found it!!! Well, I think I found it... What I was talking about (or what I understood from the video between Constant and Relative detail) can be chosen in Brush/Options/Radius Unit. If Radius Unit is on "View" the red circle representing the size of the brush stays the same when you zoom in or out of the object and then the size of the stroke is small when you're close and bigger when you're far from the object. If Radius Unit in on "Scene", the size of the circles follows the in or out zooms and get bigger or smaller, and then the size of the stroke stays the same whether you're close or far from the object.
