Love spending my break time with you. Your laid back attitude is so refreshing, especially when you have a boo boo. Life is life, it is to be enjoyed, not fretting over simple mistakes we all make. Thanks for sharing your cute baby quilts, they will make some precious baby very happy.
Thank you so much Merry😊😊 yes, I’m all about enjoying life 😄 and thanks for watching 😊❤️🐥
The quilt tops turned out adorable. I loved how you said "Oh well!" about the blocks being turned differently. I would have said the same. Great price!!
Isn’t acceptance the third step to quilting?😂🤣 TFW Maryam😊❤️🐥
Think these quilts are delightful! Don't get too upset about the directional fabric; the little people won't care. ❤👍from Somerset, UK
It was defiantely a "DOH!" moment for sure. 😳 THanks for watching from Somerset, UK. Thanks
to you from Boise, ID, USA ☺❤🐥
I learned the directional print lesson the hard way as well. It was the cutest tiny red pick up truck print for a 3 yard quilt for a family member's 90th birthday. I explained that he was always driving his red truck all "around" town, hence the trucks going in all directions. He thinks it's great and so do his friends! I do buy an extra 1/2 to a full yard of directional print fabric now. Your quilts are adorable!
Good Save :)
Cute quilts! I really like the second one. Looks like it would make a great quilt with Christmas fabrics. Speaking of…. Looking forward to next week’s video. Thank you for sharing!
My d is racing with fabric choices for the second pattern. It’s going to be one I make more than once. Thanks for watching😊❤️🐥
I ❤watching your videos you are so genuine. You share your mistakes along with your wins.
Your quilts are beautiful!! ❤
Thank you so very much quilt, queen😍. 😊❤️🐥
I have gotten caught by the directional fabric challenge before. The good thing about yours, the quilt itself is not directional. The lucky kiddo can use it however they want. Well done!
Good points! And thank you for watching my channel😊❤️🐥
I really liked both of your quilts today! I like the idea of using two 1/2 yards in place of one yard for a bit more visual interest.
Thanks Sherri, that was a happy mistake I’ll use again. TFW😊❤️🐥
I love the topsy turvy quilt I think it looks more topsy turvy like you have it than the pattern does! And that is great! Love all your videos and tell the Engineer to keep up all the good work with the music and video work he does! Thank you both for sharing with us all!❤❤
You’re so welcome Lori. Thanks for loving out videos and watching.
I love how you used 2 half yards to make the 3 yard 4 patch. You opened my eyes to so many possibilities!
Thanks for the great videos 😘
That’s wonderful Gail. Happy mistakes are some of the best 😍. Thanks for watching😊❤️🐥
Super cute fabric and quilts! Thanks for sharing😊
Thank you Ellie😁 and thank you for watching my channel 😊❤️🐥
Any child will have fun finding all the heavy equipment in the quilt, love it!
Just like an Eye Spy quilt 😊! I’m with you and thanks for watching😊❤️🐥
These two quilts turned out just ADORABLE! Any small one will fall in love for sure.
Oh, thank you for not being PERFECT! YOU make it so much easier to feel confident and to allow for human foibles. I needed that. I am a newer quilter and I am learning so much. The pin idea with counting the block lines, is BRILLIANT!
YOU explain and demonstrate very well. That is helpful for me.😊 Thank you for sharing this with us 🙏❤🎉
Oh thank you very much 😊❤️🐥
So cute, the littles will not care which way the fabric is turned, they will only see the equipment. Love the price!!
I think so too Gloria 😜! Thanks for watching😊❤️🐥
Hello, I have been enjoying your UA-cam videos very much!❤
I watch them on tv so I don't have a way to comment to them all.
You keep it real and I can relate to you and your quilt projects very much.
I have several health issues and quilting has been a Godsend to me. I love making quilts for my family and QOV.
I live in Southern Illinois and would enjoy a quilting get together you have a nice circle of friends. Thanks for all your information❤
Hi Barbara 👋🏼 over in Illinois👋🏼! I’m glad you have quilting to keep your mind off your health issues. QOV are fun and the best to make, thanks for supporting veterans😊❤️🤍💙
Thank you for watching my channel on any device. 😊❤️🐥
@@sisterchicksquilting thanks for your response. Who knows maybe you will have a retreat in the Midwest some day ! I have never went to a quilting retreat but I would love to someday but closer to my home area, Idaho is pretty far from me here.
I love those quilts and they're just the right size to quilt at home rather than sending to a longarmer
Yes, but since I know a Longarmer, 😂🤣😂, I’ll send them out to be Longarm ‼️ Thanks for watching😊❤️🐥
I love those quilts.....don't worry directional fabrics can also go topsy-turvy 😁....mine do sometimes lol....I would also love to see more longarming. Thank you Di for another great tutorial.
These actually look OK turned about. I’ll work on showing the longarming. Thank you for watching😊❤️🐥
So funny at your surprise of topsy-turvy directional print. All came out cute!
I’m happy you could laugh at my surprise😊❤️🐥
Great quilts! I am going to definitely make the topsy turvy with some big print focal fabric I have! Thank you for sharing! ❤😁👍❤
You are so welcome Tracy Ruth😊‼️ Thank you for watching my channel😊❤️🐥
Thank you for this tutorial! My brother asked me to make a quilt for him using dish towels my mom had made for him. The Topsy-Turvy quilt will showcase those dish towel motifs and go together really quickly for him. ❤. I had already purchased material for the quilt but couldn’t figure out how to put it together. I am working on it right now and it is coming together so fun. I may even have enough to make a couple more 3 yard quilts with what I already purchased for this one. 😊. Thank you!!
Is it the topsy-turvy pattern? Amazing Cheryl? I’ll be using it again for sure. Plus it’s so easy to make a little bigger. Thanks for watching my videos.😊❤️🐥
Thanks, Di! I love the way you “roll” with any miscalculation or “oopsie”. It gives me more confidence that maybe I really can do it. Christmas in July? Yes, please!
I’m working on a Christmas quilt right now. I’ll post the video on Saturday, see you then Marti😊❤️🐥
Your mistake taught me something. Thank you for sharing. Nice quilts!
Glad it helped you 😉. Thanks for watching Charlotte😊❤️🐥
Love your quilts.I am working on the same quilt but I am making one with cats and one with dogs for a charity quilt.
Awesome, we must have great minds since we think and quilt alike 😊❤️🐥
I like the borders all around the first one too. Great job as usual Di.
I’m going to email you this week about quilting my quilt top. I’ve actually got it out of the closet. Lol
Great minds like a nice border, right 😳 I’ll watch for your email Jo. TFW😊❤️🐥
Thank you for being human and having sew much fun!
You are so welcome! That’s why the engineer married me, he was basically boring😂🤣😊❤️🐥
Thank you for the pattern links. I have some fabric that I wasn't sure what to do with and both of these would be great. I have been wanting to go to Hancock fabrics again but just haven't made it there and I only love about two hours away. I just need to find someone to go with me. Thank you for your videos,I really enjoy them
I’ll go to Hancocks with you‼️ I’m jealous that you’re so close. They’re my favorite online store. Thanks for watching my channel Jeri😊❤️🐥
Love your 3 yard quilts! $27, WOW!!!
Every once in a while a good deal comes along, I just had to share it with all of you. TFW😊❤️🐥
What a great idea for marking the sewing rows with the pins. Thanks for your continual sharing.
And thanks to you for your continual watching. At least I hope you are.😬,🤣😊❤️🐥
The construction fabric is just lovely. I am supposed to be finishing a baby quilt, but needed a distraction. Thank you for the distraction and inspiration. The topsy turvy quilt is definitely on my "to make" list now. ❤
Omgoodness- my BFF did the exact same thing using this pattern! Seriously, this is our Christmas in July sew-in and her focal are bees. Oh well! She modified it a bit, but of course the pattern was busted. Still a pretty quilt. LOL- lesson learned!❤
I feel your pain 🤣❣️ I’m struggling to find a good “focal” pattern with lots of points and HST’s for a project. And my focal has big cone flowers and huge bees🤣😂
Thanks for watching😊❤️🐥
I love those prints and your oops makes it even more fun. When did a little person ever look at a quilt with fabric and say “this isn’t going the right way”? Never! ❤
So true! And Im glad you love the prints and oops too😃❤ Thanks for watching!
When I find I’ve made a mistake like that, I usually do just what you did… lean into it, spread your “mistakes” around so they look intentional! Lol. Nice quilts!
I love the way you say that, lean into it and spread your mistakes.😊❤️🐥
Would you put the name of fabric line for Topsy turvy quilt in reply? Also, is there a picture of completed quilt top? I searched your Facebook and Instagram but didn’t see. Thank you for this tutorial.
This one is still hanging in my shop waiting to be quilted Marilyn. I don’t remember the name of the fabric, I bought it on closeout from Hancocks of Paducah. I do know it was a Riley Blake that’s all I know about it. Thanks for watching, when I finish the quilts, I’ll show them.
Thank you! Since I wrote you, I went back and rewatched your video and got the name of the fabric line. I was able to find some yardage on Etsy. I wanted the same fabric you chose because it’s so cute the way you combined patterns, something at which I am not gifted. Thank you again. I’m anxious to see your finished quilt.
Hancock's is my go-to. When I buy fabric, I always shop their clearance and pair with neutrals. And you hit the jackpot when you get clearance + buy more and save + 20% coupon. All of my baby quilts I make from these charming prints. These values add up for quilt backs etc in addition to the top.
Directional fabrics: show us in spades that we are mere mortals. Will note too that you can use you light fabric scraps to mark row numbers and attach with safety pin to reduce pricks.
WHAT⁉️ I’m a mere mortal😳⁉️ So that’s my issue🤣😂🤣. Love your comments, esp. learning about combining sales at Hancocks😊🐥❤️ Thanks Leisa.
These are so cute. I love the 3yd quilts for the wee'uns. Hugs, Chel 🌸
I baste all the edges from the top through the batting to the backing. I trim after taking it off and it's ready to bind. Thanks for watching!!!
The quilt with all the constructions vehicles is so cute the blue makes me think of roads, for hot wheel cars to travel on. 😂
That’s what I thought of too 😱. Thanks for watching my😊❤️🐥
Thank You ‼️ 😊 Appreciate all of your help & videos- tutorials!! Love how you make it work, and are still happy with the results. 😊 So happy found your channel! Thank you also for the links for patterns. You are very inspiring!!❤
I’m happy you found me too😀😊😍 Thank you for watching 😊❤️🐥
You can use directional prints for this quilt, you would have to lay out the blocks before adding the frames, ask me how I know! Been there and done that. Lol. Love the quilt.
We should have talked before Carol! 🤣😂. Thanks for watching😊❤️🐥
Just gotta love a good learning experience! They look great!
Thanks a ton Victoria, also thanks for watching😊❤️🐥
Happy accidents! Bob Ross for the win!
🤣🧑🎨🖌️🤣 I love Bob Ross😊❤️🐥
Just love your videos !! Looking forward to Christmas is July ! As a new quilter , your explanations are fantastic and help me to understand better !
Thank you so very much 😊❣️ Welcome to the quilting world 😍 and thanks for watching my channel 😊❤️🐥
Fun video! Love the changes you made to both patterns.
Thanks, and thanks for watching my channel Susan😊❤️🐥
Another fabulous video!
I can't wait for your Xmas in July video :)
Perfect timing!
Awesome🎄🎅 TFW!😊❤️🐥
You kept those strips going through perfectly. Even topsy turvey good job. I’d mess them up no matter what just sewing them. 😮😢😊
The key was setting them up in sewing order before I sold them. Thanks for watching my channel.😊❤️🐥
I agree with you on the first one, the borders on four sides looks much better & I love the 2 color squares in it. Topsy Turvy is super cute with the construction fabric and you never have to worry about which is the top & bottom. I've been making crumb blocks and I think the Topsy Turvy pattern would be a great way to display them using a couple of neutral solids. Thanks for sharing another great tutorial.
Thanks Linda 😊 and I love your idea about using the Topsy Turvey pattern with crumb blocks, awesome 😊😊
Thanks for always watching😍🐥
Both quilts are beautiful 😍. I always enjoy watching your videos because I always learn something. The topsy turvy quilt is so cute, some little one will adore it.
Thank you Lori, I appreciate you watching big and commenting 😊❤️🐥
Can you do more simple quilt like these love this
Shoot, the ones I have on my schedule to film are a little bit fussy. But I need to get them done. Please bear with me. thanks for watching my channel.😊❤️🐥
I am so grateful that you share your mistakes with us! It makes me feel better about my mistakes !
If I didn’t I wouldn’t have much to share 🤣😂🤣😂. Thanks for watching😊❤️🐥
Those are super cute quilts! Love the fabric on both!
Thanks, it proves they that the quilt is all about the fabric. TFW❣️😊🐥
Thank you for including the links to the free patterns.
You’re welcome 😊 Thank you for watching 😊❤️🐥
How do I find the links?
@@keriknight3148 click on the ‘more’ button under the title of this video. Scroll down near the end of her description and you will find the links for the quilt patterns.
Lovely quilt tops. I have used your pin system for keeping track of which block matches to the next - it's brilliant!
Thank you Bev 😊❤️🐥
Since it’s topsy Turvey, why don’t you just put the vehicles right side up? Who would know the difference?
I that was my big DOH moment, when I realized I could’ve just done them that way. Thanks for watching.😊❤️🐥
Adorable quilts! Those are great patterns! Thank you. ❤️
Thanks and thanks for watching 😊❤️🐥
I am glad I'm no the only one that does this. I did the same thing with this pattern! I took the focal fabric out of the square and fixed the direction of it but one of my strips prints was directional too. I didn't take them apart again. I just left the strips the way they were. Next time I will know that when the pattern says Topsy Turvy it means just that.
I’m with you ! I will definitely make this pattern again and will purposely select non directional fabric. Thanks for watching😊❤️🐥
I always wondered on lap quilt why people are worried if fabrics are upside down. Whe cuddled under the quilt you can see the "upside down " blocks are suddenly right side up. 😂
That a good point Carolyn, 😂. Thanks for watching my channel 😊❤️🐥
I just used Topsy Turvy as inspiration for a quilt i just made with wildlife panels. Great pattern!
Awesome! It’s definitely going to be one of my go to patterns for something quick😊❤️🐥
Those quilts are adorable. Thank you for sharing the patterns.
Thank you and thanks for watching and commenting Karin with an “I” 😊❤️🐥
Beautiful quilts! Thank you for sharing
You bet! Thanks for watching Patty😊❤️🐥
Beautiful quilts! I like the idea of 3-yard quilts, but in general, I'm not a fan. An extra 1/4 or 1/2 yard would allow for nicer borders and/or double-fold binding, and I will not be crushed if I make a mistake in the cutting. 3.5/4-yard quilts, anyone? 😂 That being said, I've seen some really fabulous fabric and colour combinations on 3-yard quilts that I will try to emulate... with a bit more fabric!
I’m with you however they are the perfect size for the Littles in my life. I a always say that a quilt is all about the fabric. Thank you for watching my channel😊❤️🐥
@sisterchicksquilting absolutely! I watch so many 3-yard quilt videos that you would think I adore them; I just modify them slightly to suit my preferences (Don't tell my math teachers that their lessons actually came in handy! Lol!) Anything that brings people to the amazing art that is quilting is a plus for the entire community. I love watching quilting videos while I work. Continue the great work!
I adore these quilts. I will definitely be printing these patterns!
Awesome Kim 😊. Thanks for watching😊❤️🐥
I am very interested in 3 yard quilts. 2 reasons. Cost and smaller quilts are my jam!
It’s surprising to hear the number of quilters that make the 3 yard quilts. Thanks for watching my channel.😊❤️🐥
I can’t wait to see your version. ❤❤
Reading the directions now, so 😜
Lovely quilting and wonderful ideas!
Thank you so very much Cathy😊❤️🐥
No matter where the child is, some tractors will be right side up!
Yup & it’s kind of fun 👍🏼😊♥️🐥
What kind/size is your table you cut & sew on?
It’s an Ikea desk top about 52 x 40ish. I’m currently looking into an adjustable height table but I have such a small room it’s going to be tricky. TFW Tiffany😊❤️🐥
I love your quilt show I want to start back quilt
Thank you so very much. You mean you stopped quilting❓⁉️😳. You must’ve had a lot going on in your life. Thanks for watching.😊❤️🐥
Love them both!
Thank you so much😊❤️🐥
Love this pattern! Cute fabrics!!
Thanks Sue, I think a quilt is all about the fabric. Thanks for watching😊❤️🐥
Thank you for sharing the pin hack.
You’re welcome. I love using it when there are many blocks in a row as I’m able to take the entire row off the design wall and sit at my machine and never make a mistake. Thanks for watching😊❤️🐥
Christmas 🎄 in July is great
It should be an official holiday😂🤣😂🐥❤️
I have no sound from 2:41-3:30. Is this just me or is anyone else having this issue?
I had sound benthic times but it was lower. I think I forgot to put on my mike when I not to the sewing table, sorry. Thanks for watching my videos😊 I’ll try to do better😊❤️🤣
@@sisterchicksquilting Please don't be sorry, I would never criticize-- just wondering if it was my computer or a glitch. I love your videos!!!
thank you for the free patterns❤❤
You’re welcome, thank you for watching my channel😊❤️🐥
Very cute. It will be loved.
Thank you and thanks for watching 😊❤️🐥
Both quilts are nice, the giftee will love them. Looking forward to Christmas in July. Though I still have Christmas UFOs from 2 years ago. Hope to get them finished this year. Tell the Engineer nice taste in music.
Thanks Abeullah😍. At least get one of the Christmas UFO’s done this July. It’s such a good feeling to be a little ahead. I hope the smoke is all gone out there. Thanks for your support. 😊❤️🐥
I just love the chick!
Thanks 🐥😊👍🏼♥️🐥
Really cute quilts.
Thank you Janet! 😊 Thanks for watching my channel too😊❤️🐥

Thank you very much Doralee😊❤️🐥

😊❤️🐥
Oh no! Turn them the correct way!
I wish I could have there was no way that they would work. The little boy who’s getting that quilt is going to adore it. Thank you for watching.❤️😊🐥
Really cute quilts!
Thank you Amy ❣️ TFW😊❤️🐥
Love your videos!
Thanks Terri😊❤️🐥

Thanks for watching 😊❤️🐥
Love your quilts on your first one that you show you do have one block turned bottom, left-hand corner before you put it together.
Oh my gosh! Thanks for pointing that out. I’m fixing it right now. Thanks for watching my channel Venetia😍😍😊❤️🐥
