Thanks for sharing! I've always been a (much) bigger fan of this arrangement vs the studio recording. Heard it a number of times live, one of the most notable being SF at Great American Music Hall, around this time in fact.
Thanks for sharing. I'm a big fan of this "in-between" version of Wilco, 2002-2003 (not that I don't love the juggernaut that followed and continues on). Just four guys, stripped down. I need to track down a DC bootleg I had from this era, very spare and so much space.
the drums are already leaning a little krautrocky. glenn stays insistent while jeff's guitar splinters above it. it's kind of in-between the official version and the solo version
I got a way better version on n old HD somewhere, this version but primo.... Feel like it could be gone forever lol. Never understood how they could ruin it so bad
@@crpat I looked for that studio version on iTunes, is it under a different name? In fact, I can't see a bonus edition of Sky Blue Sky. I would love to track down this studio version. They opened with this song in Boulder when I saw them. I would love to track down the studio version. Thanks for your help!
I'm still traumatized by that krautrock downgrade on the official studio version. I saw them do this version of the song when I saw them live the first time in Toronto the day before YHF came out and I fell instantly in love with it. Great post.

First time I heard this arrangement was London Astoria May 2002!

Both this and the official krautrock inspired version are incredible, just shows hot great a songwriter Jeff is!!

@@thefezmancan i would kill for that HD version! I love the original arrangement but I think we're in the minority liking this one over the studio.

Totally agree! They opened with this arrangement at the London show when I saw them on the YHF tour. Sounded so good.
Woah...
Any idea where this is from?
Could it be the London Astoria 2002? The original poster mentions in a comment seeing them do this version there.
