Eviction of the Spikey Thing With Curves squat in Hackney central - opposite the Town Hall and Hackney Empire.
Spikey Thing With Curves was at 270 Mare Street and was squatted 1995/6. The building had previously been squatted as emergency accommodation for people made homeless following the mass eviction of Stamford Hill Estate in 1988. It was originally a Salvation Army building and then a Mission Methodist Hall.
