If Masai is really bringing in Ingram you better believe he’s buying low. While some people think it’s going to cost Quickley or RJ it might not. Look at what Pascal went for in the final year of his contract while being a 2 time allstar at the time. Keep in mind Pascal was actually playing at a high level and not injured. The Pacers simply bought low on him for a couple picks, Brown’s expiring contract, and Nwora’s expiring contract. Also trading for Ingram doesn’t necessarily mean we’re going for it now. Ingram is currently injured so this might not even be a move for this season because the Raptors would get his bird rights which would allow them to re-sign him for more money that would not affect the salary cap if they go over it. Bird rights allow you to sign players for money that doesn’t really count against the cap if you go over it. This might be a smarter move than some think if they’re able to buy low on him and just have him on load management for the rest of the season so he doesn’t actually affect where they draft. If they’re going after Ingram they likely plan to be good by next season by bringing in Ingram and whoever they draft in the upcoming draft. If that’s a high draft pick they’re in business! Some people forget you can’t just lose, lose, lose every season without the players you currently have feeling like you’re not doing enough to put them in a winning situation. This is when players start asking to be traded which someone like Scottie could do in a couple years if he feels like the Raptors are not putting players around him to win. Masai knows borderline allstar players are not signing here in free agency so he might see a opportunity to buy low on a guy he thinks might have the potential to be a allstar next to Scottie. We know he bought low to get Kawhi who was on 1 leg. . You kind of have to do business differently when building a team in Canada. There could actually be legit smoke to this rumor if it’s a buy low opportunity which we know Masai is known for doing.

Them MAIN thing Ingram brings to the table is the ability to create his own shots and be a threat at all 3 levels. This opens things up for Scottie in both scoring and playmaking.
Yeah not sure how anyone could say Siakam was as good or better fit than Ingram. Makes zero sense. Siakam and Barnes took up basically the exact same spaces on the floor and Siakam was definitely NOT a great defender by any stretch of the imagination.
exactly, ingram is 4 years younger, better playmaker, better defender, better 3 level scorrer. and still has devolpment upside.
@Jayse The Siakam glazing is wild imo. Him getting an all-star nod is hilarious when all his stats are down except shooting % are down from his Raptors days. Am I a hater? Lol
If we can get Ingram maybe he will sit out the season to get in shape for next year so it doesn't affect the bottom line of our ethical tank...come 25/26 a core of scottie, ingram, RJ, IQ, Jakob and Dick +the high draft pick!! I also REALLY like Davion's defence in the starting line up too 🤔
What in the world Ingram to my raptors wtf😂❤
From a stats perspective, if we win 7 of the next 35 games we end up with 22 wins. Last year the bottom 5 teams had 21 wins or less. We want a bottom 5 spot, bottom 4 ideally, and because of the last stretch of games, our chances of getting it are EXTREMELY low. If we are indeed truly tanking , it needs to start NOW. And by now, I mean tonight.
Anyone know stats on last time a bottom 2 team won 5 (6) in a row? Can raps get in play - in? Have we made the turn?
Pascal got traded for ochai BI and a first. That's not bad
true!!
Id trade quickly for ingram and their first round pick unprotected. But brown and olynyk for him would be fine. They gotta get a feel for the new contract though. His injury history makes like 40m a year a no. Maybe like 30-32
BI for IQ would be best. Would love to keep DM. BB and CB, I’d miss them but 🤷🏿♂️.
BI is going to hawks.
BI is not a PG
@@kevinferris3007 team been ass when IQ has played so it may not make a difference if IQ off the team. IQ just takes shots from other players. and IQ hasnt been particularly efficient so they been wasted shots since he is hot and cold like gary.
Honestly, if we get him for cheap, shut him down for the season, tank it out, get a top pick and compete next season, I'm down
Raptors FO do not leak to press. If you hearing it is coming from the other team. He is a injured expiring contract. The Pelicans want to get under the tax by trading BI and take back less salary. The only way Raptors trade for him is after they make 2,3 trades and are looking to dump incoming salary
Ayeeee, I didn’t watch all the video yet
BI going to hawks
I like our team. Don't break it up!
I still want to tank!!!
However, if FO is going to make more of a win now move I would rather do BB + KO + G Temple = A Wiggins + G Payton II + Gui Santos + 2027 first top 10 protected
They get win now players in positions they need support, Off AW contract + $25 mil expire and likely able to sign BB for less next year.
We get a better Def fit and balance our lineups and future can draft as they want.
Start: IQ, RJ, AW, SB, JP. Bench: DM, GD, OA, CB, Orlando R or J Mogbo.
Flagg is staying stateside. No way in hell they would let him come to Canada.
just wait till brown and boucher traded. they would have lost the games they won without their points. besides harper is better pick as he can create his own shot and ball handle. harper is a 3 level scorer.
He would not have a choice
Draft is random, and not fixed
@@kevinferris3007 you have a better chance at higher quality talent in the top 6 than going teens or in the 20's. just look at gradey or jakobe walter, they are not even in the same class as a paolo banchero or a franz wagner. after the 6th pick you are more than likely just to get a role player, ya you get the odd teens pick like giannis or sga turning into s superstar, but thats like trying to pan for gold in a river thinking you gonna be a millionaire.
BI is a nice player, but are the Raps really going to re-sign him for upwards of $40M a year for the next 4 years? They already have Scottie, IQ & Barrett signed for at least 2 more yrs after this season. I just can't see the reasoning for bringing BI to Toronto
Add a top 10 pick to that it doesn’t sound too bad
This potentially opens up the discussion of a Zion trade while they’re bargaining ? Rather get Zion with rj.
And who says Brandon Ingram wants to come here ?
Why don't we trade Vince Carter and Chris Bosh for the 1st pick? Duhh looks like I should be general managerer
Ingram is NICEEE!! I hope this trade goes through. That guy Bruce ain’t doing a damn thing for us. Ingram is a hustler!!! I would really love this pick up. Ingram is consistent!
Ingram>pascal
I love BI but isn't he injury prone?
I want Ingram. He cooks us every time
He is just 27
Ooohhhhh! Raps front runner for a trade?! They Interested? Like really reeeeeeellllly interested?!
Wow! What coolness! Such awesome! Super hype!
Lol how many more trade rumours with raps as front runners ONLY TO RAISE THE TRADE VALUE OF A PLAYER THEY WILL NOT GET?
Cmon now. How.many times we seen this smoke and mirrors pony show? Every fkn year...
@benrogers go look at raptors cap table after they pay new rookies, pay jakob poeltl his 14-16 million raise and scottie barnes 29 million raise. if they trade for ingram, its not gonna be brown. its likely RJ barett and Jakob poeltl. cuz rogers wont pay luxury tax.
You've said it enough times and I still don't believe anyone is paying Jak $35 mill/year.
I'll believe it when I see it.
@@yzerfitz thats because you thought og would only get 30 million a year also last year. there is 2 prices, one to stay on a rebuilding raptors which will have to be an overpay, and a cheaper price to go to a contender in a warm us city with less taxes.
you are assuming the toronto market is the same as others. its not. free agents dont want to sign in toronto, and to keep their players raptors have to overpay.
@@yzerfitz its also because you are under some delusion jakob will sign in toronto at some discount when he said openly he didnt leave the spurs to come to another rebuilding situation on tv.
@@yzerfitz you didnt read the entire comment also. lets say jakob gives the raptors a discount of 4-6 million and signs for 30 million a year for 4 years. that only opens up 6-10 million in cap space and an ingram max will put the raptors into 2nd apron.
@@giovanni-ed7zq how many years does Jakob have left on his contract?
3 way with LA.
Raptors receive Ingram
Lakers receive Brown
Pelicans receive Boucher, Vincent, Hachimura
Something like that….
nope hawks trading for BI with jalen johnson out for year now.
Am still in doubts...I'll reserve all commentary until it actually happens... sports reporters are always in getting their Knott in a bunch around draft night and trade deadline..hyperbolic.
I mean if we can get Ingram without trading any of our core guys, I think that’s a dub. His value is at an all time low, I’m interested to see what this team could do if we get Ingram
he going to hawks is the report, not raptors. makes sense with jalen johnson out for year and hawks having something to play for still
Siakum was overrated beyblade. He was terrible
he still offensively way better than RJ or scottie barnes. siakam can actually ball handle to take guys off the dribble to create his own shot.
Rather get Zion, younger and way more upside.
I wouldn't mind losing Quickley if they could add Ingram. Raptors defense with IQ out there jist doesn't cut it. I'd rather see Davion out there playing great defense and distributing to the other talented scorers on the court.
Trade the guy who's been out of the lineup during this wiining streak - IQ.
@benrogers you ignoring this could just be a misdirection to try to leverage more value for players they trying to move, by putting it out there they may trade for ingram. its likely they getting lowballed for players right now.
windhorst just dropped a bomb, saying hawks trading for ingram with jalen johnson out for the year. makes sense as they have a trading relationship already.
ingram max would put raptors into 2nd apron so you know its not gonna be brown, boucher or davion mitchell. and you know rogers wont pay luxury tax unless raptors been to conference finals. in fact if they trade for ingram, they would have to take zero money back for brown, boucher and mitchell while moving out players under contract long term or due for a raise. to stay under 1st apron.
Hell yes! Low cost, then yes! Hate all you want commenters, but if they gey Ingram, and somejow Nurkic, mark my words, they will be a competitive team with a lot of promise. The hate you give me, only fuels me lol. Come back to this comment when im proven right, or wrong. Hopefully this is a very fruitful trade deadline, not a dud. Guess we will see in 6 days, either way. Go Raps!
Looms like we back on vision 6'9
I don’t see the Pelicans just taking expiring contracts for Ingram. They can just let him walk. It’s closer to Scottie’s timeline (4 years older) than any of the 2025 top draft prospects who will be 5 years younger. He seems always injured though.
just so you know rogers stands to gain 17 million in revenue share for raptors for staying under the 1st apron. rogers wont be wiling to lose 17 million and pay luxury tax for a team that is no where near conference finals.
This team is owned by MLSE not Rogers brother. They also are already in the luxury tax………so I’m not to sure the point you’re trying to make.
@@rorylaverty2855 rogers will be majority owner in summer of 2026. and no one is gonna sign off on luxury tax, when raptors getting 17 million a year in free money for staying under 1st apron for a rebuilding team. you think they gonna willingly give up 17 million a year and pay luxury tax on top of that for a team that is nowhere near conference finals?
you are forgetting the number 1 rule of business. the purpose of a business is to make money. and for a rebuilding team, paying luxury tax is losing money.
@@rorylaverty2855 the raptors are not in luxury tax lol. its why they are getting 17 million in revenue sharing this year for staying under the 1st apron lol. you dont get that if you are a luxury tax paying team in the 1st or 2nd apron.
You get his bird rights if we trade for him rather than wait for free agency. So it means that you can pay your guys or add another big salary if needed.
First! Aiiiiiiiiiiii
Would love to have him as long as Boucher and RJ are not part of the equation. However, I wonder if he would even report to camp. We've had a few bastards that wouldn't report or play when traded to the Raptors.
that was decades ago, and Sasha doesn’t count considering he went to Europe instead.
Raps have been on the Ingram radar since pre-season, he's a young vet. IF a deal gets done it will be with the intention of an extension in place.
A Trade would look something like this:
Dick
Brown
Boucher
for
Ingram
2-2nd round pick.
And it would happen early enough so that New Orleans could flip Brown and Boucher.
basically Ingram instead of Siakam.
Gradey Dick is untouchable, there's no way we deal him away for just BI
@@user-ow2cs7fb5l He ain't untouchable hahaha - so who ya giving?
We ain't trading Gradey LOL
@@MrMarumari then who they taking you lamp shade? If you know so much propose a sensible trade!
Siakam is better than Ingram.
I swear if we Trade RJ for him I’ll be completely done with Masai! Cuz he keeps doing the same win now moves just cuz the team goes on a winning streak.. same exact thing he did last time that got us into all this mess! And they keep moving players Scottie gets close with.. him and RJ are literally now starting the gel
Except Masai HAS NOT been doing what you're claiming. The only time he did that was to get Kawhi and that led to a championship.
@ so when we brought Jak back and gave up a first round pick cuz we needed a center that wasn’t a win now moves?? Not picking the rebuild direction soon enough when fred was still here cuz he thought we could still win with that team and stuck with it soo long to the point where Fred walked for nothing, sticking with it soo long to the point where we only got Bruce brown for an all star player in pascal?? Are you living under a rock? 🥴
This only makes sense if they can be reasonably sure he will not leave in the summer for nothing. He says he wants to get paid, and his current team has no interest in paying him. That is generally a warning sign.
I hope they do not overpay him just to get him signed.
you think ingram is gonna sign for a discount in toronto lol. ingram is being traded because he is looking for a max and refused 40 million a year from pelicans.
Brendan Ingram is a valuable piece to the Raptors. This man is like 28 points per game. He was like the best player on the pelican if we could bring in a guy like that 69 amen he’s only 27. The Raptors got something good here I was hoping they would get like a Zion Williams, but will settle for that
BI going to hawks is report
With no intention of keeping him, I can see Masai positioning to get more assets by using Ingram for a potential sign & trade.
