Classic parody and steady parade of MISinformation.......1:07 BMW K1......"987 cubic inch engine"??? I'm certain cubic centimeters is what is meant! I mean my big Pontiacs mostly had 389 or 421 cubic inch engines! Nuff for me as I then moved on!.....but NOT priot to commenting!
It seems like the Japanese motorcycle manufacturers tried to build Japaharleys, they got a couple of things copied correctly though...harleys are overweight, uncomfortable, are sluggish performers and don't handle well. They got those parts just right.
I am a CX 500 Turbo owner. The bike is bombproof and if driven properly, turbo lag is non existent. The only issue with the Turbo is the fuel consumption.
The MotoGuzzi V65 was one of the best motorcycles I ever owned (and I've owned many, from 65cc to 1100cc). Comfortable, reliable, and handled great. I was just reminiscing yesterday about the bikes I wish I never sold and it was very high on the list.
A bunch, most of which you probably never heard of. Thor Pope Pierce-Arrow Excelsior Ace Henderson Cushman Mustang Crocker Victory Buell Zero And dozens more, both classic and contemporary.
The K1 BMW is equipped with a 987 cubic INCH, motor. INCH,?? On a motorcycle ? There is simply not enough room on any street bike for that sized motor. A vehicle with an engine that size is larger than a 5.7 liter V8. You really need to edit your posts!
Pretty sure he meant cubic centimeters, which is a liter bike (ok almost). 987 cubic inches is not only over 5.7 liter. It's over 16 liter. Even heavy diesel semi trucks don't get engines this big.
Ah, the Yammie TX 750. Bought a used one in the 80's and was warned they were junk by a friend. He was right, a month later it dropped 2nd. Apparently that was their thing.
I had one of them as my first bike. Does he have trouble with blown globes every time he misses a gear as mine was great for doing that. VW beetle head light and tail light globes are a good replacement. I used to carry a box of them with me ,just in case, If he ever needs spare pistons for it the one from a Suzuki 125 is the exact fit.
Woah! Stop right there At 12:12 talking about the Yamaha TX750 that is not a TX750. It’s an XJ 750 Seca, I had one and put a ridiculous mileage on it from 9k to over 90k in 2 years as a motorcycle courier in the UK. Truly great if slightly odd bike. 👍🏻
I did a long distance trip, some of it at night on a Virago. Though it was a damn good ride. This was in Rural South Africa and in addition to my luggage I had to carry 10 lt of fuel in two saddle bags.
Had an '83 920 virago. Real purdy red metallic paint. What a pos. Slow, clunky tranny, starter that sounded sick, handled like a log wagon, and brakes that wouldn't stop a lawn mower.
I've never knew there was a 400 Katana, here in Australia we had the 650 which was underwhelming, the 1100 that was a bit of a pig by reports I've heard and the 750. I owned a 750 Katana and it had the powerband of a 2 stroke with the handling of a Ducati. There was nothing under about 3000 rpm but once it hit that the thing would try to pull your arms out of their sockets, it was exhilarating to ride with a 4 into 1 Tranzac exhaust. The best I ever got from a rear tyre was 4000 klm's and that was a dual compound with a hard centre and sticky edges. I wish I'd never sold it.
987 cubic inches are over 16 liters or over 16,000cc. I wasn't a biker in the 80s but im pretty sure bmw never made a 16 liter or 987 cubic inches motorcycle. Maybe a train engine but not the k1 bike.
987 cubic INCHES rofl That's one massive engine that would need a lorry to hold it. Got to love peoples lack of understanding or research. 987 cc not CI
Based on what exactly? If you never do a coolant change sure.. but that's like never doing anything oil change. Water cooled engines run at a more stable temperature.. there is a reason most engines are water cooled.. overheating engines get wrecked much easier.
FXR frame is the strongest in the day! Rice boys ,I have been dowm,3+times. No problems other cosmetics. U even old enough 2 ride back then? Mommy+ daddy didn't even know each other! 21:2521:28
"modest 117 hp" ? In the 1980s that was not very modest
How to create motorcycle content without knowing anything about motorcycles.
🤣

Just stopped at 987 cubic inch. If you can't do it right just don't
It seems like the Japanese motorcycle manufacturers tried to build Japaharleys, they got a couple of things copied correctly though...harleys are overweight, uncomfortable, are sluggish performers and don't handle well. They got those parts just right.
you talk about the K1, and show lots of bimmers that ain't the K1. crp

About as clueless as a "content maker " can be.
"987 cubic inches". I stopped watching at that.

I really enjoyed riding the 920 Virago. It was a pleasure to take on the back roads of West Virginia.
Sorry man, but on the tx750 you kept showing a seca 750 four and there wasn't an '83 model. they discontinued it in '75.
I've got an SRX600 from this period and its still going strong
MAN, do you have ANYONE with even a modicum of motorcycle knowledge on your staff ?
it seems to me that american know squat about motorcycles....... remind me how many marques have they actually made?
😊
Exactly
Even Americans will tell you that harleys are operated
But I disagree with some of these entries as well
A bunch, most of which you probably never heard of.
Thor
Pope
Pierce-Arrow
Excelsior
Ace
Henderson
Cushman
Mustang
Crocker
Victory
Buell
Zero
And dozens more, both classic and contemporary.
The K1 was and still is a popular bike.
If I ever purchased one of these, I would get a special license plate ... TRON
Well, I owned a BMW K1 and never had a single problem with it. I used this as my courir motorcycle and did 150000 km on it without problems.
That nighthawk was a good looking bike.
I hated these „soft choppers“ from Japan and for some reason I hated the Honda CB400 N, probably because everyone had one to start.
I had the 450 nighthawk, never had any problems, best bike I ever own.

I guess you got 5.7 since you squared the inch to cm value. You need to cube it so multiply again by 2,54....
That BMW had a 987 cubic inch engine??
the Honda cn400n was a magnificent machine of a motorcycle.lightweight reliable goodlooking
excellent handling and very economical
My first bike was a magna vf700, got it from my uncle had 50,000+ miles on it. no problems like you say
Ah, the Yammie TX 750. Bought a used one in the 80's and was warned they were junk by a friend. He was right, a month later it dropped 2nd. Apparently that was their thing.
Their main problem was overheating.
How can you talk about the Yamaha TX750 twin cylinder and show pictures of the Seca 750 4cyl, can you tell the difference? I can!
Akso, production of the TX750 ended in 1975, so there's that.
Edit quality was absolutely atrocious, let`s just grab any old footage off the internet and hope no one notices
1!970's & 1980's Italian bikes are always associated with unreliable electrics..... My brother owns a 1979 Benelli 2C 250.
I had one of them as my first bike. Does he have trouble with blown globes every time he misses a gear as mine was great for doing that. VW beetle head light and tail light globes are a good replacement. Since when have Harleys been anything like RELIABLE.
The Guzzi 65 would still be a serious option for today.

The xr1000 was a great looking bike , many of the motorcycles featured I don't recognize though.
987 cubic inch BMW? sir i think you mean cubic centimeters.
I did a long distance trip, some of it at night on a Virago. Though it was a damn good ride. This was in Rural South Africa and in addition to my luggage I had to carry 10 lt of fuel in two saddle bags.
Harleys are the worst bikes out there. I would never, ever buy one.
Had an '83 920 virago. Real purdy red metallic paint. What a pos. Slow, clunky tranny, starter that sounded sick, handled like a log wagon, and brakes that wouldn't stop a lawn mower.
7:54 sounds like the successful Ducati Monster to me
"987 cubic inch" ???? For future reference 1000cc's = 60 cubic inches.
His choice of words is lack lustre

That Katana was the best looking bike on this list.
@@nonyabusiness4151 absolutely.
I had A madura 1200 it was never sluggish great bike it also handled well in the twistys
The Xlr was around 7,999$ back in 1983,probably better than a Iron Head.
I forgot,You should put the Yamaha 550 Vision,Major electrical problem's,Spazz in Cali.
987 cubic inches are over 16 liters or over 16,000cc. I wasn't a biker in the 80s but im pretty sure bmw never made a 16 liter or 987 cubic inches motorcycle. Maybe a train engine but not the k1 bike.
117 hp was good in the 80s

The horrid Norton Rotaries should be number 1
Any Harley!
Well most water cool motorcycles are in trouble when they age. The Honda gold wing was ok as the water was ok cool
Based on what exactly? If you never do a coolant change sure.. but that's like never doing anything oil change. Water cooled engines run at a more stable temperature.. there is a reason most engines are water cooled.. overheating engines get wrecked much easier.
BMW make the best machines on the planet.....period.
That's funny,I put 73,000 mile's on My 86 700 Honda Night Hawk S,No problem's,Must be lucky'Spazz in Cali.
Harley Davidson XR was very beautiful bike .
BMW K1, a great bike.
Ducati Indiana? wtf
Fxr ran from 82 to 95 bud.
I have no faith in this channel. Sorry .
FXR frame is the strongest in the day! Rice boys ,I have been dowm,3+times. No problems other cosmetics. U even old enough 2 ride back then? Mommy+ daddy didn't even know each other! 21:25 21:28

CC= cubic centilitre
Hmmmm nope.. a 1000 cc is 1 litre. It's cubic centimetres! Trust me
