You're an artist as soon as you make art. There no other line in the sand to cross. Good luck on your journey! I hope you find a lot of joy and happiness in your learning process.

I'm so super excited for you!!! It's gonna be a journey but learning to draw has been the most fulfilling one I've been on, and I hope you love it equally as much! This turned out absolutely gorgeous!
I've always said, cultivate a love of the craft first and the rest will come with time and I stand by that.

Man I wasn't expecting to tear up today, but watching this video reminds me of why I love making art and do it as a career. You are spot on whrn you said making art/being creativity is "Freedom, Joy and Strenght". Ive been drawing way before I could even talk, and even to the day I have lots to learn. I unfortunally dont make art just to make art or to experiment with different mediums like I use too and I truly miss it. So imma use this video as a reminder to take some time in the week to just draw for myself not for vtuber project, not for Uni, not for comms but for myself! Thank you so so much for this video and the best of luck on your art journey!! ☆*: .。. o(≧▽≦)o .。.:*☆

AWWW thank YOU so much for the kind words and for watching. I understand that sometimes life makes it so that your passions become your job, so you have to vary what you do. I'm wishing you the absolute best! You CAN do this! Art's worth enjoying!

Printing out photos is actually pretty bad advice as you're not learning perspective you're only learning composition and they're different. Composition is super important if you want to draw complete scenes but if you assume a complete scene is the end goal you're setting a potentially frustrating challenge if you fail to finish one. But if you're spent years taking screenshots in The Sims you probably know composition better than I do anyway and don't have to learn it.
The real use of formal 1, 2 and 3 point perspective is in inventing spaces so to learn it you don't want source images of any type you just take a black page, stab down the vanishing points anywhere on it and draw the lines and create a ton of abstract blocks.
If you've have tried and failed to learn to draw multiple times over your life you should think of yourself as 'returning to' not 'finally starting' since that will make you feel less bad if you have to stop your journey again for some reason. You shouldn't think of past experiences as 'times you failed' I'm sure you learned something from them and if you are forced to give up temporally will still have learned something to bring to the next time you restart.
If you're seriously learning to draw and not just wanting to make pictures in pencil (which is also fine as a hobby) you don't want to start with identifiable images at all just the basic 3d shapes.
If you just want to learn perspective take any random box or box shaped object you have, the larger the better, and put it at the opposite side of the room from where you're most comfortable sitting. Or if its really small and you have a sofa put it on the back or arm of the sofa and sit a foot or two from it. If you have lego bricks those are good you can put a bunch them in any shape and lie down a meter from them to draw. In fact just composing house interiors in lego and drawing them from multiple angles can be better than any picture you can find. Dominoes are potentially better as are jenga sets. Any kind of toy is great actually just random objects from your desk are good subjects. Books are also amazing since they're rectangular and if you like composing scenes in The Sims you can arrange interesting book piles and then draw them.
Of course you don't have to learn perspective at all there are plenty of art traditions that don't use it and if you're not interested in doing the kind of European style landscape drawing that requires it you should really focus on what actually interests you.
If you want pictures of building exteriors to copy don't print anything out buy a travel magazine or go to a second hand book shop and find any book full of pictures of houses. Then commit to just working through that book/magazine. The only reason to print something out is if you need to get away from the computer to relax and if that's the issue you're better off commiting yourself to non-internet sources since scrolling for the right source image is a waste of time and a distraction from drawing.
Oils are actually really good for beginners its a myth that they're some kind of elite tool for dead dutchmen they're way more forgiving than acrylics and water colours. The mess and space issue is real though so in a rented apartment you're probably right to be wary of them.

Oh wow! Thank you so much for the detailed reply. I will definitely have to keep all this in mind. Especially that trick about drawing a box or a pile of books.
