MY GOD!!!!! THANK YOU FOR THIS IDEA! PERFECT!!!!!!!
You're welcome!!
Very nifty idea! My local independent record store here in Roanoke Virginia always is looking to get rid of records that look like they were used for lawn darts. He wouldn't charge me a penny and its just a nice filing system to go with my collection. Thank you for my weekend project!
Enjoy!
Like all good ideas others have - it's obvious!!! Well done!
Didn't know i needed this until I saw this.... this is epic!
Awesome!
Very cool idea thanks for posting this. Just dropped by your Frisco store and picked up a couple of interesting things.
Thanks Jim! Really appreciate the support
I’m setting up my new music room now and definitely plan to make a bunch of these dividers for my large collection! They are SO much more cool looking than the standard square plastic ones! And a whole lot less expensive!! I’m even thinking of making some 7” ones out of old 45s for my 7-inchers - and I have a lot! Will just cut some thick white or black cardboard to glue them to.
Thanks for the video!
awesome! And I have done 7" inch version with cardboard just like you mentioned, they work great as well!
@@NTXVinyl I asked… and my local independent record shop owner has offered for me to pick out from his dollar bin all the records I want for 25 cents each to make my record dividers! 😀. He is also going to let me know if he runs across any junk 45s for me to use to make 7” dividers too! Really nice guy! I’m a really good customer too! Usually buy 10 RSD titles from him each time! Haha!
Was just thinking about this. Thanks for the tip
Sure thing! Thanks for watching
Great idea! I made my own however simply out of white thin card, cut to 13" x12" and wrote the letters/artists on the part that sticks out.
Whatever works!
This is... a *great* idea! 👍
Glad you think so! Thanks for watching!
Cool, I was wondering what you were doing there. I am going to try it but going to put glue on both sides and put it inside the jacket with a couple inches unglued sticking out. 🤔
That will totally work! Good luck 👍
Yep, that's what I do for my store bins.
GREAT IDEA! THANKS!
Thank you for the info ❤
Thanks, cool idea.
Thanks!
Great idea! Thanks for saving me some $$
Glad I could help!
I like it. Thanks for the tip. 😄
Our pleasure! Thanks for watching
I would love to see a video when you show the titles you used for making your record dividers. Would be very funny and a hell of a video and very easy toi do. You would have to mention both the covers and the scratched records. Bet there are some Ray Coniff and Christmas records in there lol
That would be quite the show and tell of junk records!
LOVE THIS..........!!!!!!!!!!!!!! 🐼👊
Boom! 💥
wow thank you
You're welcome
I've been using similar for the bins in my record store. I use empty plain black jackets, hot glue, and old rubbish LPs. I glue mine inside the jacket, sticking out about 2".
Solid! It works great IMO. Have them in our shops as well
Hello I just saw your video and wanted to comment my opinion. I think it looks cool but won't those records cause ringwear to the other ones overtime? Here in my collection I've cut the cardboard box of the turntable I bought last year into pieces and turned them into dividers in alphabetical order.
I guess I could see that being possible, but hasn't been an issue for me. With all LPs in clear outer sleeves and not packed too tight it seems fine.
Love the idea!❤ But how would it work if the record collection got exposed to some sunlight during the day, will the dividers warp?
If your records are in enough Sun to melt dividers you have bigger problems. Ya know?
Great idea but why not put it in the jacket? Maybe that way you hide the junk record but maybe have a cool duplicate jacket with that artwork.
Thanks for tip
No problem!
you could go one step farther and print your favorite album cover and glue to the cover also to jazz it up a bit. Maybe just a solid color also. Some old covers are trash-looking. But I love the idea
But that’s the thing. You never see them. Unless you happen to have them at the very end of an empty cube or something. Otherwise the jackets are never seen unless you pull the divider out for some reason.
Question, do you also glue the issue of the jacket so it doesn’t open if taking out the dividers?
Don’t use gatefold jackets. I think that’s what you’re referring to.
I was actually looking at dividers today, they were pricey and made by Crosley so it was a hard no for me. Im always so bummed when I see record stores stocked with Crosley and Victrola products. I think to myself, what better way to push people away from vinyl. They sound worse than you can imagine and they shred your albums to bits!! Do you carry record players in your stores and if so, what do you carry?
I don’t carry tables. Just records
I suppose I can get the $3/1.00 records because I don't want every letter.
Cool. Got some boxes of junk records I was giving away. Going to repurpose them
Awesome!
I will Be at the painted tree later I need vinyl
Love to hear it!
i glue mine inside sleeve , looks better
Would not waste my time on this . By the time you've done all this work and mess with glue and letters : it will cost nearly as much as bying some dividers , let stand that it will never be as good.
Well, even if you don't have some glue laying around already the most this would cost ya is about $5-10. Assuming you don't have to go out and buy junk records, which most people don't. You won't find a set of dividers cheaper than $30.
These look way better!! Much more cool! The dividers I was pricing were way way higher priced! Plus I would have to get blank ones and buy letters anyway because of the way I categorize my records. And again these are WAY better looking in my opinion!
@@NTXVinyl Still don't get it . You are paying hundreds or even thousands for a neat collection of vinyl , and then go for DIY dividers . I assume you don't play with a 20dollar cartridge do you.
@@Spock105 not really sure there’s much to “get” here. Just a simple diy solution for anyone who wants to get a bit crafty and save a few bucks. Plus, like someone else just commented, these look cooler and have a more unique vibe to them.
@@NTXVinyl Cool is subjective. Personally nice wooden ones look far more pro and will be more stable as well.
