A US Senator represents the legislature of the state.

Thank you for your comment! It's important to clarify the role of a U.S. Senator. A U.S. Senator represents all the people of their state, not just the state legislature. Senators are elected by the voters in their state to serve and address the interests and needs of their constituents at the federal level.

The president is not required to sign a bill for it to be law.

Thank you for your comment! You are correct that a bill can become law without the president's signature. Here’s a quick breakdown of the process:
If the president does not sign or veto a bill within 10 days (excluding Sundays) while Congress is in session, the bill automatically becomes law.
If Congress adjourns before the 10 days are up and the president has not signed the bill, it does not become law. This is known as a pocket veto.
These are important aspects of the legislative process and are covered in the civics questions for the US citizenship interview. Thanks for pointing this out and for engaging with our content!

You pick Cherokee, who have no reservation reserved by the nation, because the chrokee broke their treaty with the US, to join with canada as england tried to conquer the US in the war of 1812.

Thank you for your comment! There are a few historical points to clarify:
Cherokee Nation: The Cherokee Nation does have a federally recognized reservation today, located in northeastern Oklahoma. They have a rich and complex history, including periods of forced relocation such as the Trail of Tears.
War of 1812: During the War of 1812, various Native American tribes had different allegiances. Some sided with the British, while others sided with the Americans. The Cherokee were divided, but many sided with the United States.
Treaties: The Cherokee Nation did enter into treaties with the United States, and like many Native American tribes, they experienced numerous treaty violations by the U.S. government.
For the purposes of the civics test, mentioning any recognized tribe, such as the Cherokee, is correct.

OH EFF YOU, "name one state that borders mexico." and you pick Arizona? When the longest contiguous border with Mexico, BY FAR, is Texas?

Thank you for your comment! You're right that Texas has the longest contiguous border with Mexico, which is an important fact. However, for the purpose of the civics test, any state that borders Mexico is a correct answer. This includes California, Arizona, New Mexico, and Texas. In this video, Arizona was mentioned, but rest assured, Texas is equally correct.
