We need someone to contact her, the parents and the leader of that village and donate money to help her get a divorce. You’re right, the marriage legal system there will allow her to have a divorce if she or her parents have the money to pay him back. We need someone to contact her, the parents and the leader of that village and donate money to help her get a divorce. If there’s 100 of us and each one donate $10 that’s $1k already or if we’re broke maybe we need 200 people to donate $5 each for a total of $1k. I’m sure $1k - $2k should be sufficient. I believe it’ll only change if the Hmoob in Laos put a stop to these kind of situation as a whole society/community. If you look down on a certain behavior, it’ll discourage those kind of behavior. However, many men are still threatening their spouses lub kick and lub fist and this is a form of manliness and is deemed a macho trait for hmoob men.
