Thanks for your comment. We don't currently sell the RM 545 VE in Great Britain - did you buy it here or are you based in another country? Either way, if you think there is something wrong with your mower, then we do recommend taking it back to a STIHL Approved Dealer, who will be able to investigate and diagnose any issues. Thanks, STIHL GB
Hi, the cutting height adjustment mechanism is spring-loaded so it's incredibly easy to move it up and down in one movement with the lever on the side of the mower. Thanks, STIHL GB
Brought one this week but it’s too slow for me It scuffs the lawn on 1setting and pinches your fingers on the silly drive bars -it does pick up well but is much too slow for my commercial use and the roller just spins on slopes and wet lawns -not impressed after spending £1.400.00
Hi Tim, thank you for your feedback. From the price you've mentioned, we believe you are talking about the RM 655 RS here. The speed of the mower is optimised for the best cut and collection - if the speed were increased any further it would begin to have a detrimental effect on the cut and collection, so it has been set to go as fast as possible whilst still maintaining excellent collection. Regarding the spinning of the roller, we recommend pushing the mower to start and then engaging the drive lever if having issues starting on wet lawns. When developing the mower, there was a choice of providing it with a more expensive profiled roller for grip, that could ‘churn’ a lawn, or a flat roller than may slip slightly, but cause less damage. We will pass your feedback to our STIHL head office about spinning on slopes though. Please feel free to email enquiries@stihl.co.uk if you would like to discuss further, or provide any extra feedback. These sort mowers, sometimes don't start too well on or after cold. Best leave it heating in the sun for 20+ minutes before pulling the starter cord. Also, leave on flat surface for a while until the engine oil settles properly before attempting start. As always, check correct fuel and oil levels. They are not difficult to start, but easier this way.
the Vario don't works by my RM 545 VE..only fast.
