The 2024 Fiat 500e Is A Cute Little Italian Electric City Car

- After 3 years of denying America's from the redesigned #Fiat500, the company is finally ready to bring the second generation #Fiat500e to the USA in 2024. This European spec #500e offers up to 199 miles of range (WLTP) and a much improved interior with way better tech. #Fiat is just showed Europe the #500eAbarth and we'll be keeping our fingers crossed for that model to also show up in the US at some point.

Happy Friday everyone! This will be our last video from CES, thank you all so much for watching all the videos we show from Vegas! This was actually our first time seeing the new Fiat 500e in person and it really impressed us! We're hoping Fiat will eventually bring the just revealed new 500e Abarth to the US at some point as well. Looking forward to seeing the US spec version at the end of this year.
Thanks for giving us a car to roast
I sat in the previous generation 500E and loved it. The interior space is amazing for the size of the vehicle. The large doors make it easy to get in and out. I'm glad Fiat isn't giving up on the small EV in the US.
I can’t wait for this to come to the states! Just what I’ve wanted. Not another slab-sided SUV choking down gas like a ravenous alcoholic!
Just came back from France and saw this one on the road and it is super cute!! Great city driving EV!!
I’m so glad they’re bringing it to the US. This should be a great city car
My guy, 🤦♂️😂.
they do
That suicide door is a must. Now the dog can jump in the back.
When I was working at an internship, I drove the first generation of the Fiat 500e. I liked the size. I didn't like the winter range though. I really hope battery technology and overall vehicle efficiency has come a little further to improve the winter range on the Fiat 500e. We really need more small EVs in the US for commuting. I understand there are very few small EVs out there for commuting that I do not want to name. I think many Americans really don't want to or can't afford the current $30,000+ USD EVs. Overall, I am glad Stellantis is brave to bring back the Fiat 500e. Thank you for covering this and to bring awareness to small EVs.
I just read this little car is starting around 30000 k
I imagine this will be priced around what the current mini Cooper SE is at. Which is $30k ish. Still not bad though. I would consider this to drive too and from work which is 12 miles round trip.
I want one as soon as possible to park next to my Abarth.
There’s an abarth version too.
Love this refresh (although Stellantis is stating it's a new model for 2024, we all know..). It makes sense that they are pushing the 500 towards an electric route this time around. Curious to see what else FCA has in store for FIAT USA!!!
It is a new model - built from the ground up - height width and length is around 2inch bigger than the ICE 500 of which production for the European market will continue for the foreseeable future.
It's a totally new model. New platform, chassis, and engine.
I honestly do miss my 500 very much. Although the car had lots of flaws… but I enjoyed driving it very much~
You must didn’t like it that much. All cars have flaws but it’s a cheap reliable very small car. Fiat owners normally don’t say their car has a lot of flaws, they normally associate that with personality which the fiat has in spades . I’m sure whatever flaws it has were due to the price of the car .
@@Natethegreat200c I agree all vehicles have flaws, and it's a cheap car, but not to the point like as cheap as Kia or whatever. And I believe you didn't have one, cause if you had one, you must had experienced their kind of unique flaws. The flaws that I'm talking about aren't the normal flaws that you were expected. Give you an example, the door handles broke, I mean the actual handle broke off when you open the door. You can Google this topic and see how many people needed to replace the handle for many times. Anyways~ God Bless!
I am assuming it was the TwinAir Dualogic. Mine was brand new from the factory so I knew who drove it ... and it died after 3 years. That gearbox was not right for that engine and Fiat knew it. It was then discontinued and brought back about 4 years later ... a better gearbox, one that creeps forward.
500 is completely different from a 500e.
Agreed
I had the first 500e in 2013, that's really practical small car for city living. Like it alot, except the 85 miles range.
Will certainly redo again if the range can be more reasonable. 😅
yes ¹99 mioe range 114 more mile per chargé
Very attractive little car. I think a great choice for Rideshares. One concern is the mileage range in colder climates but at the same time understanding it's a small vehicle so the battery pack is going to be smaller.
The fiat 500 came back from the dead with electricity like Frankenstein.
Only in NA. Alive and Kicking elsewhere.
500e ⚡️- has been MADE since 2013
@@Fixin-To yes sir, was referring to North America.
@@nextleveljourney6612 but was unfortunately discontinued in 2019, can't wait for this updated 2024 version, they're great city cars!
Still isn't going to sell well in NA. Mini looks better by far and guys can buy them. This looks even more like a little girls car in that color.
I’ve always loved the Fiat 500 ❤ I’m 6ft5in 240 and I fit fine (old version) I love small cars 🚗 I’d buy this one 👍🏾
çhief 6 foot 7 fit in gm geo metro
I really hope they bring this car!!! 🇮🇹
No center console, perfect! Extra space up front always helps.
LOVE IT
Killing it with the interior, the rhims, love the color. And the front of the vehicle....is a sassy smiling champ. LOVE this car, WANT ONE!!!
Surely loved my 2014 500e. Will seriously consider this one.
I own a 2016 Fiat 500e, it's a great city car and drives like a Mini. They've been in the US from 2013 - 2019 when they were disconnected. The range in 2024 model is double what the previous generation got. It was disappointing that you didn't compare the previous generation 500e to the updated 2024 generation.
yes0
Omg, it's adorable! ❤
Really like that the 500E is instantly identifiable as a FIAT. I think it will sell in the US, but is there still a Fiat dealership network in North America??? Nice first look review!
It’s still in Canada afaik
As far as I know in the US anyways most Fiat dealers also sold Chrysler, Dodge, Jeep, and RAM. My local CDJR dealer never sold Fiats but the dealer an hour away from me did and will carry the new 500e.
I may have misunderstood but I thought I heard that in the US it may only be sold online??
Every single DCJR dealership.
@@joshb2000jb where I am in Canada, Fiat is sold with Alfa Romeo.
Good review. Hope things are well with you guys.
I want to see this car find its audience here in the United States. With some cute marketing and smart pricing, it stands a chance.
This tiny car has better interior than most of the Japanese “appliance” cars.
It’s great to drive and believe me I’ve driven many cars including Mercedes etc
I’m 5’7” tryna make himself feel tall next to a fiat😂 I love it
I love the look of the eyes on the car
Only 3 years late to the 500e party. We've been enjoying them since 2021.
It's a 42kwh battery for the 199 mile (320 km) range, up to 85kw dc charging. Power is 87kw or 118HP.
You've really been missing out on fun motoring over there, haven't you?
yéß it íß
Love the Fiat 500E,I have a 2013 Fiat,so when this comes I'm gonna get it!!
This brand new Fiat 500e looks rather unique.
Interesting to see the led lights on the hood like that. I don't know of another vehicle where there's lights on the hood that open with the hood. Seeing the light housings and wiring on the inner hood is just odd. Most cars cut the hood around lighting features like that.
My very first electric car! Good job Sofyan.
I own a 500 Abarth. I might just wait and see of we get an Abarth 500e in the USA.
I'm excited to see these in the US. Living in a big city, I really do see the value in having one of these. Especially now that it's an EV 👍🏽👏🏽
Love the shirt!
Everyone: I thought you were dead!
Fiat: My death is greatly exaggerated.
Still can’t get over that Stellantis name lol
I can't wait to buy one as my second car. I'll def get the convertible
dó it
Interior looks good but that big empty gap for the phone just looks weird . Looks like climate controls or stereo got stolen...lol
I'm really enjoying your CES reports. The 500 is a cute car but why do companies insist on making, pretty much, white steering wheels? Horribly impractical.
The European version charged with 85 kW DC and the 3+1 version is the best for family’s. My kids love to be driven up at school between the large (for Europeans) BMW iX and VW ID5. It’s the perfect EV for big cities.
This is the one I want 😍 in rose gold too or in a pearlescent Cinderella blue if I can have it
why u like this one?price or something else?
First gen Fiat 500 was great, but less dealers supporting Fiat. They'll test for battery condition for $600 to try to get replaced under warranty if they can say it doesn't qualify you're out $600
The dealer is selling a silver 2017 fiat 500e with 37k for $14k. Is worth it? Looks super clean!
Believe it or not but a 2017 500e was my first car. I had a HUGE love hate relationship with the damn bugger. It was a terrible first car and had bad range, charging was a hassle with being a level 1-2 only.
I honestly don’t think this 2024 will be good either, they need to get their battery range higher or else they’re going to flop again in the states.
A smart decisions would’ve been to bring the hybrid 500 to the states.
It looks like it should be in one of the "cars" movies...
I love it... so cute
For people who likes to drive small cars.
These should be sold in Dodge/Chrysler dealers!
yes
Beautiful 💖
fiat really still tryin in america?? lmao 😂
First gen 500e make for awesome cheap commuter cars. Or at least they did before the car market lost it's mind
As prices fall back to normal....
How 🤔 you going to mention the USA POP model is just going to be only trim? When all trims will be offered? You're not on Stellantis management board 🙄
If only it was a 25-30K electric city car. With the tax credit, it would be a cool little daily/fun car

Great car..... for colleen!
Abarth Variant for USA 🇺🇸 please!
Looks good, but I was told that FIAT = Fix It Again Tony.
Has anyone replace the battery for an 500e?
Qual è il fattore che le persone considerano per primo quando acquistano questa fiat 500e? Il prezzo? L'aspetto esteriore? Durata della batteria o
Why is there a conventional car battery under the hood???
Want !!
The one of the most memorable insults ever said to me was that I looked like I would drive a Fiat or Mini.
Dorky little things they are.
Stellantis decided to build an all-new bespoke EV platform, but instead of making it RWD like the original 500 and putting a frunk (also like the original 500), they basically came out with a refreshed electrified version of the modern FWD ICE 500 which was based on the Fiat Panda architecture. Why even bother with a new architecture in the first place? The car even has loads of empty space in the back below the trunk where a spare tire would normally be.
The 3rd door is an optional extra - it will have a 42kwh pack, not 32kwh
DC fast charging can do up to 85kW on the 42kWh battery
This is exactly what Canada needs and does not have--an entry level EV that looks like it will actually be AFFORDABLE. I don't need super crazy range, speed or gadgets like self-driving. Just give me a small practical little car to drive in town to work, pick up a few groceries, and make it back home (even in the winter) on a single charge without anxiety. A range of 150-200kms will do that no problem. The problem here is that all the EVs are over $40000 CAD for lower range EVs and $55000+ for EVs that get above 400kms per full charge--both out of range of + 75% of Canadians. (Forget $70K+ "entry level" Teslas) The "well off" are the only ones who can afford EVs and they get the benefit of the 8-15K government rebates (where offered). After 3 to 5 years when they go to sell their EVs or trade the car in for something new, those rebate savings don't get passed along to the poor schmuck like me that's just trying to get away from the ridiculously exorbitant gas prices. It's so unfair. Anyway, please make this available in Canada for less than $25K, and I guarantee these will sell like hotcakes. If you bring in lots--they WILL sell. (Canadians who want to go EV are fed up with being put on 1-3 year waiting lists too.)
Idk why they made it front axle powered, being that the car used to be originally RWD and the convenience of EV platforms, It would have given it a much larger storage capacity. PRND is also located in a strange location for an italian design. I'm hoping the safety figures have improved a lot as well. Do we know if this is just an ICE conversion platform or is it a dedicated EV deck battery?
It was developed from scratch. It's a completely different car compared to the previous 500.
@@normaluser5755 that sucks, doesn't look like they put a lot of thought into it....
@@ubacow7109 They did put a lot of effort into it. Sales have been great too.
They just decided to not change the iconic styling of the original 500 that much.
@@normaluser5755 I don't mind the styling at all, but it's the platform that just seems poorly thought out. Would much rather seen them think it out more thoroughly cause it seems poorly optimized relative to other EV designs.
love ittttt
The comments prove how ignorant, and short-sighted many Americans are. I’m 6’5”, 215 lbs and own 4 vehicles (Mercedes G-wagon, Audi TT, Toyota MR-2). But my 2016 Smart car is probably my favorite by far. It has plenty of room for me, it can hold 6 grocery bags, and drive 80mph on the 5 freeway smoothly from Seattle to L.A. I only wish the new electric Smart was coming to the U.S. (again, short-sighted Americans with no vision, but plenty of ignorance).
çhiéf like ßmart çar
ignorant? This thing is not safe in USA with open roads and people driving 80-90 MPH (130ish KM per hour) on freeways. Maybe in a city where space is limited but Smart and Fiat will not sell me a coffin on wheels. My cars I have owned so you don't think I am just some truck drive-n redneck... 337 VW golf, Audi A3 hatchback, 350z, 370z, bmw Z4 current car . I would not even drive a Miata here ( too small to feel safe ). It is just the way it is here. It is not ignorance just reality. Just like your reality is small cars work there. But lets be honest...This thing does not look great. The Honda EV looks way better if I was there where you live and was in the market for a tiny small car.
@@Betazeno ….You’ll get CRUSHED in an accident in a Z4, or a 370Z way worse than my 2016 Smart Fortwo. (Which is much smaller, but infinitely safer).
@@eddieg6436 You are being silly. The Smarts are built so rigid that the the driver will take all the shock in an accident. I have a friend who got into a minor accident in a Smart with his wife and they still have back and neck problems. Normal size cars have crumple zones but Smarts are too small for that so you will take the force of the blow. Like wearing a helmet and being smacked with a sledge hammer in the head. Good luck... Of course any car VS a semi or something heavy and huge will not end well. Z4 and 370Z are not very small. Probably almost 2 Smart for Twos long and wide and any extra room means extra safety. The Z4 is built way better than my 370Z was too.
It has eyebrows 😂
Those doors sound like a tin can!
Range is alot better than cooper se

Stellantis will go the way of the great American brands, demasiados brands para ser todos iguales, GM, FORD

Recently back from Turin.. Tons of them on the road...bad ass vehicle. Reviewer comes across like a robot... to bad.
At 4:00, that noise... a FIAT will always be a FIAT
I drove F I A T while living in Italy 🇮🇹 during my military career. FIAT meaning = Fixed It Again Tony 😂😂😂😂
Game over for Tesla!
Everything the Scion IQ could have been.
Fiat and nissan are the least busy booths at the Chicago autoshow. They had the inside test drive thing with dodge, Chrysler, and fiat, and each had their own line, and no one was in the fiat line. Plus, fiats are rarely seen on the roads around here. Bringing it back as an EV won't help it
You said 2 seater?? Not
Quick question: Is this a European spec? 😅
You are wrong. There are 2 batteries: 24 or 42 kWh. 32 kWh does not exist. And it can accept up to 85 kW of charging not 50. The screen behind the steering wheel is 7" not 8". It is better to learn about the car before filming.
Yes but US only gets the 42kwh battery.
In Europe this car start in 2001.
Guaranteed to generate minimum sales in the US. Fiat is the master of recycling one design forever.
I think it will sell mildly/moderately well in the largest US cities - it won't sell in rural USA. The USA buyer has a different mindset to the European buyer. In Europe, the Fiat 500 sells extremely well. In the USA people prefer huge, gigantic, heavy trucks, preferably V8 gas guzzlers, and they scoff at small cars.
The F150 would squash this thing like a bug in a minor fender bender here in North America. 🇺🇸 🇨🇦
A nice tiny vehicle for the golf course. ⛳️
Hopefully the price of fuel for F150s will go through the roof and we'll see a lot less of them on the road. Unless you're in the trades, or tow stuff on a regular basis (not twice a year), people need giant pickup trucks like they need more damn holes in their heads.
@@OMGWTFLOLSMH Not a chance. The F150 is the best selling vehicle in 🇺🇸 and 🇨🇦. And EV versions will be bigger and heavier. 8,000 lbs for the new Chevy! Double the size and 1,000 HP! 😊

Yea, that range is a deal breaker.
Cute, but a car for little people. At 6'1" I couldn't fit into the last gen and this one looks no better. Reliability, parts and service availability in North America are questionable with this brand.
Does a car have to be manufactured in the U.S. in order for the owner to qualify for the U.S. federal tax credit? (9:00)
Has to be built in North America
@@AdamJakowenko Interesting. . .
Too bad Fiat discontinued the ICE version….they did a good job updating the styling, especially inside.
I feel like this makes the most sense as an EV. It’s a small city car that is intended for short trips and commutes. 200 mile range is more than enough for its intended purpose.
The engine was good awfully loud! I'm glad they ditched it
Props for no prop-rod!
see what i did there? 😁
Like other small electric cars, they won't suit everybody's lifestyle. Only practical really for those who can charge at home on cheaper rate overnight, and not intending to do a lot of mileage. Local town or city driving, older retired folk etc, but really anyone who doesn't want to sit for ages charging up at a service station. I refuse to buy into this until we dont need to do that.
it’s a four-seater…
This one costs 36500 $
Apparently, BION, there is actually an Electric Abarth model too & let’s prey to god & Hope that the Abarth model DOES come to America.
But does it come with a fire extinguisher?

240 kilometers range? Its not good at all. Fiat should install a pedal to be used when its run out of battery power.

The average American commutes 41 miles a day to and from work.
Yea... electric death box.. have you ever seen this car after a major car accident.. goood luck
I know someone who got in an accident with a Smart for 2 and still has problems with his back and neck. Wasn't even that bad of an accident.
If you total this car, they will just bury the car with you in it.
lol as they should😂😂
LOL now why would they bury you in a washing machine with wheels?
If they can find the car after the accident.
No thanks, I'll keep driving my Abarth.
