This is an amazing and inspiring interview. Well done to this channel.
times are a changing - old men wanting to learn (with wives and children ) is hard but WE love the mechanisms and the old ways - we make time to learn but we need the old school too share - I dont want to make money I want to make a watch (pocket for me) and emulate the old masters. That's what makes my oysters rock.
That's so cool MrHendrixForever, yeah it is so true! I hope that you can fulfil your desire to make a watch for you one day!
On the topic of "lost methods" and Jeweling in specific, there is a book, Watch and Chronometer Jeweling by N.B. Sherwood, 1892. The N.A.W.C.C. did a reprint of it in 1988. It may be worth a read. I really enjoyed the spirit of co-operation this video shows. It gives hope to old guys like me who have similar aspirations.
Thanks for watching and the info Nick, really appreciate it 😁👍🏼
Thank you for the video! I am a guy who just get into watches and this podcast make me want to step into watch making. I live in a small flat with my family and i can barely afford a space to put a watchmaker lathe, but if two watch maker say a small lathe can do that i want to give that a try!
Realy great bro ! Nice interview ! Hope to see more like this !
Thanks so much Motoerhead85, really appreciate it! It is something I have been thinking about exploring, and want to do. This was the first one, so I know I wasn't very good. I had so many more questions after I had left lol. Well thats how we learn.
I find this amazing. How many people now how much tremendous work goes into making a watch and how much knowledge you must have to build a watch. Thank you for a gerat video and thabk you Kaj from a fellow swede.
