    But wait there's more! A PO BOX finally wahoo!
    First, a disclaimer: So many of you have kindly offered to send me things, including vintage items you may have inherited, and I am so honored you would think of me and of course I do adore vintage treasures, however, unfortunately I only have so much storage space currently! So there is a chance that if something just wont work for me, or doesn't fit me etc, that I may not be able to keep all of your lovely things. Please only send things if you are okay with the possibility that I may donate items I just cannot keep. If you would prefer I put things that I can't keep into the TCH Etsy shop to help raise funds for me and the channel, please specify this in a note or letter in your parcel. Thank you so much!

    Oooh, I absolutely love the drama of those sleeves! I don't normally think of villainy and evil masterminds when I envision a gloriously poofy sleeve, but combined with the knife-sharp silhouette of the rest of the jacket, there are definite villain vibes. All you need for the final finishing touch is a mink stole and a cigarette holder!

    Oh my gosh, beautiful. I have been sewing for 50 years, and this outfit puts me to shame. I don't know if you're destined for an Oscar in costuming, or running the construction department of a major fashion house, or having your own fashion house, but you are one talented young lady!

    I love this pattern and this version of the jacket!! There is a true deficit of fabulosity in the world right now, so I think this is a much-needed daywear piece. It would bring me joy to see it out and about.

    You are as much of a sculptor as you are a sewist. You carve here and add there -- and the finished garment is just incredible. (And though it may have been improvised, it always ends up looking intentional.)
    If it's not the neckline that is unusual, it's the configuration of the hem of the front.
    Your addition of the placket in the front (complete with steel boning)was nothing short of sheer genius!
    You never cease to amaze me.
    The Japanese believe the nape of the neck is very sexy and that's why the geishas always have an intricate make-up design back there. Your pointed collar (in the back) is the epitome of a surprisingly sexy neckline!
    I totally enjoy all of your videos!

    I found the Little House pins too. They are my favorite. I do like the shorter size. I find I poke my fingers much less with the shorter length. The "vintage" pins I learned to sew with are even shorter.
    Your jacket is quite lovely. I think it would be great on stage with all the lights.

    I really didn't get the sleeves until I saw the reveal, they look amazing! Also the different ... pieces? ... have such a beautiful shimmer, like the princess line holds the lights as you turn and then the light sort of spills into the next panel. Just amazing!

  • @lupinotuumlunam
    @lupinotuumlunam 5 місяців тому +1

    You keep the pattern pieces for future projects, so it is worth a little extra tape to make them more durable. Beautiful jacket. The look of those sleeves is worth all of the extra effort and layers.
    I can't find where anyone has named the neck to waist princess seam. A princess seam runs from the shoulder down to the waist. A Viennese seam runs from the armhole down to the waist. A pyramid seam runs from the neckline into the side seam.

  • @lynn858
    @lynn858 5 місяців тому +2

    If anyone is wondering how hard it is to sew bras...
    If you've got the avoid puckers and keep adjusting thing at 27:55 figured out, and you can sew opposing curves like a princess seam...
    You're plenty ready.
    Fitting one is a whole different mess. But if you can find an indie pattern that suits your breast shape, you've got the sewing skills well in hand already.

I suffer from PMDD too, I started taking birth control pills because before taking them I used to get 4-day migraines every period, and also extreme anxiety and brain fog. I still get migraines and brain fog but the migraines are much shorter and less painful. I take progestin only pills (no estrogen) without the placebo, because every time I skip a pill the hormonal changes give me a migraine. I hope you find something that works for you.

    um...yes it's sparkly....I don't see how that makes it less everyday. The sun sparkles every day (well above the clouds when they're in town). Better to wear out than moth out. With the hip structure, puffs and front 'cutout' my head is muttering Velasquez panniers meets faintly Spanish conquistador...the fluff in the hat is adding to that fantabulous historic swash. I am overimaginative I spects...but whatever on that, this is just wow! Please wear it out and let it shine.
