Step 1: Time-travel to 1995
More like 1965 😉
Good one!!
Not an option..
😂😂😂
I wasn't born yet
There's still cheaper ways. For example, our last trip to Disney, we stayed off property. Found a hotel room for $80 per night, with mini fridge and microwave and continental breakfast. We pack lunches. We still rope drop. And had a fantastic trip for a third of the price. 😊
Did you have to park far away? And was traffic into the parking lot a nightmare?
@@Michelle-by9fp we rope drop, we were at the parks very early in the morning. So no traffic was not bad at all.
where did you stay? Can you share the name of the place and how far it is from the parks?
agree! the Fairview in flamingo crossings was great. I would for sure rent a vehicle next time if we stay off property again though the ubers stacked up fast.
My hotel was legit less than $40/night so we are doing something right! No need to break the bank to go to Disney
Cheapest way to experience WDW? Stay home and live vicariously through DFB Guide!
2019 drove from NC. Started at 2am. Brought food for the road. Bathroom breaks and rotating drivers every 2 hours. Drove my Prius. $100 in gas round trip. Stopped at Walmart to stock up on food. Backpacked REAL food into the parks.
Stayed at a close by VRBO with a full kitchen, 3 bedrooms, close to the parks.
I lived in Fl when my son was little. We stayed at a $7 a night campground in a tent, packed snacks and drinks in with us, and shared a kids meal, but we always had annual passes.
Our souveneirs and shirts came from the Osceola flea market
Now THAT is cheap!!!
Why do I love this though!?
Honestly, sounds like it adds to the adventure of it all. 🥰
We've stayed at the Swan and Dolphin using our Marriott points to save money, plus they're close to moderate tier prices. They have a great pool with a slide, walking distance to Epcot and HS or boat. Also dont pay for water in the parks! Get free ice water at quick service locations and you can bring Gatorade type packets to add for flavor and electrolytes. The drinks alone can save major bucks throughout your trip
Thx. I’ll be staying at S&D this fall. Nice to know.
Don’t u also get deluxe benefits from s & d Like later park hours and early lightning lane booking
Or even just a good bottle and refill at the water fountains around the park! I do that when I go to Disneyland in California, saves SO much money on drinks and there's water fountains all over for easy refill between rides! I use a smaller kid's one so it doesn't take up as much space.
2024-can’t wait for ‘24 DFB guide!!!
We stayed at one of the Disney Springs hotels (B Resort) last June and saved a lot of money. Still got early entry and free transportation.
We loved the B-resort! and walkable to Disney springs.
Being friends with a cast member or being one ! Free entry to all 4 parks and 2 water parks .Resort discounts are very good!also on top additional discounts
In 2018 we drove from Saskatchewan (above Montana) to Disney World .Definitely saved us money over flying and we got to see St Louis, Nashville, Savanah on the way down. New Orleans and Memphis on the way back. 9,700 km in total
How much was gas? And how many days did it take? Thinking about driving from MB. Any websites for traveling from Canada?
Gas was a little over $1000 Canadian in our dodge caravan. We took about a week driving down. We broke it up with stops at the corn palace in Mitchell SD, the St. Louis arch, a full day in Nashville and a stop in Savanah. We then spent 5 days in Disney, 2 in Universal studios and 2 with people we knew down there. We then took about another week driving back with stops in New Orleans, Memphis and the Mark Twain museum in Hannibal Missouri.
Wanted a Disney World Christmas vacation....since it's unnecessarily expensive at Christmas time, we enjoyed our Disney Christmas vacation the first week in January.... Disney still had its holiday cheer and decor....we didn't overbook or overspend on trinkets and restaurants....we went food shopping and planned our vacation 10 months ahead.
Our family did there Christmas party! So expensive
@@geno5169 I can only imagine....every year the prices jump majorly that you actually notice lol....may I ask how much did you play for your tickets and what day did you go to Magic Kingdom for Christmas?
Yep that is us also. We just booked for week after Xmas.
My family has gone in December, between Thanksgiving and Christmas. It's way more affordable and far less crowded. Yet, all of the Christmas magic is all on display. It's is absolutely the best time to go there.
If driving is the cheapest way to get to WDW can someone please tell me how I can drive there from Australia?
🤣🤣🤣
Drive on the right side when you get to the USA.
Oh, you just hop on the East Australian current and relax the whole way.
Try using the Kangaroo Expressway. You'll get there in a hop and a skip.
As long as you don't mind going off Disney property it's usually pretty easy to find rooms for under $75 a night and many also include breakfast, which is another nice way to save a little more money. And if you pack lunch and snacks for the park or just generally don't eat at their high priced restaurants it's very easy to enjoy the parks on a budget. As AP's we go often and use this strategy to keep our costs low. We drive so we don't have car rental or ride share fees to worry about, but even if you did it's still a cheaper way to go. Also, even many if the less expensive hotels have free shuttle service to the popular theme parks-not as frequent as Disney Transportation, of course. But we've taken their transportation to the parks before and then just taken a Lyft back to the hotel before as many do stop before park closing. Which did work out cheaper than renting a car for one of our trips. The most important thing is to research what the hotel has to offer and weigh it against your needs. There are several clean, decent hotels near Old Towne in Kissimmee which is very near Disney but also makes for a very fun day/night in itself too. On the weekends they have antique cars aplenty in addition to games, Carnival style rides, quaint shops and restaurants-free parking and you can get unlimited rides with a 20ish dollar fee. Makes for a fun and relatively cheap date night.
Magic kingdom used to be my favorite park. Ever since Disney is changing my favorite ride. Splash mountain! Really! They shouldn’t took away! I’m glad I have a splash mountain hat. Ring tone.
Step 1: consider going to disney
Step 2: decide not to go to Disney
Money saved, mission success
I only paid $33.60 TOTAL for Taxes & fees for Jetblue flights from NYC to MCO roundtrip for 3 people leaving Aug. 28 & returning Sept 5th....just used my points
we don't have points and seating for 5 leaving from EWR to MCO is about $3k around Easter 2024. our trip in 2022 cost me $4100 with United :(
I come from DC and I don't like Jet Blue because they charge you to bring on a bag,
@@nervouSShitter wow! that sucks....hope you find cheaper flights in the future though
@@lianelayman6584 I do carry-on only cause I don't trust airlines with my bags since Delta lost mine on a trip to Orlando & I had to buy clothes for the entire trip(luckily, Florida is SOOO much more cheaper than NYC) but I didn't enjoy spending money for something that was out of my control!
@@lianelayman6584 they charge for carry on? i think it's standard to pay for checked luggage.
We came to WDW at the end of July for three weeks, two families totalling 7. Stayed in a ‘Disney’ villa. The house was 30 minutes from WDW, 45 from Universal, it was poorly decorated and the rental company oversold it describing the most budget as premium. We literally didn’t find out how far away from WDW we’d be until a week beforehand despite our agent telling us it would be months. We though we’d save money but the food shopping was so expensive, so with the car and petrol on top we could have stayed on site. Spent the last week in the Swan and it was amazing! I recommend my family do it after everything AJ has said. Would never stay in a villa again, but definitely would return to the Swan. Being a walking distance was a game changer!
Great to hear about Swan. Have a first time to WDW family trip planned in the fall. Many ppl have said drive. And stay offsite, but coming form🇨🇦. And the price of gas, parking multiple stops. Seems like a hassle. I opted to stay at Swan and hope it makes better sense. Glad to hear it’s your hotel of choice and you enjoyed it.
@@rdub5499 it does have buses to the parks but the 15 minutes walk was amazing and so convenient. Plus the earlier access was so helpful.
My 1st time to WDW I drove from California. Took me 2 1/2 days. I slept in the back of my pickup truck and then stayed at All Star movies.
I laughed when AJ said that Disney restaurants are as expensive as New York. I went to Manhattan this summer and I told my husband that WDW restaurants were cheaper than Manhattan’s.
Yesss as a New Yorker the food prices in Disney weren’t a sticker shock
We are going at the beginning of November. We booked our flight months ago.We booked Mears Express. We were very pleased with them last time.
Honestly, never thought about modifying days for multiday tickets to get cheaper prices. In the past, if we arrived on say Mon May 1st...we started our tickets on Tues May 2nd......But now, we will look for a couple days prior as it just makes sense! Thank you for the advice!
Highly recommend the new Drury; fantastic hotel and amenities, walking distance to Disney Springs, and NO RESORT FEES.
We recommend renting a house . Like we’ve done for years. It’s so much cheaper then staying with Disney. And we have our ow pool! It’s private.
@@geno5169 Can't argue with that idea; and there are certainly some incredible homes for rent.
Thanks for the tips! We’re going next month! Excited!!!🎉🎉🎉
Park Hopper Plus includes plusses - including access to waterparks and mini-golf.
Growing up our Florida trips were a 23 hour drive and we never booked a hotel along the way!
Do Not Pay for Bottled Water 💦 at the Parks. All of the Quick Service Locations give you Free Filtered Water. As Florida water is Not awesome I would recommend bringing in the flavored drink packets. We like a school bread and a Dole whip or maybe a soft baked 🥨 on occasion, but we tend to not eat much at the parks anymore. For momentos go to the Character Warehouse. There is one on Vine and another on International Drive.
I love getting gift cards at Kroger when they have the 4x fuel points then getting up to $1 off per gallon.
Value Resorts are sold out October 6th, 2023 for February 7, 2024. I tried so hard to get one through our agent. Frustrating. I thought we were booking early enough.
I just found value resort rooms for this December.🫡
Could you do a video on the Disney college program??
Do you have, or would you consider making a video on snack credit breakfast options for each par? And snack credit lunch options? I’m trying to navigate the fact that we might want to do 1 or 2 2 credit meals , but then will want to balance that out with using snack credits for other meals if that makes sense?
I'm going on Thursday 😝
Prefer staying on site especially since they removed the extra parking fee. Just have to watch months ahead because prices do go up the closer you get. Sports was $143 inc tax in Jan when I booked for March and was $190 w/o tax in late February
2023 we’ve been getting better pricing than Airbnb because of all the add on fees they have.
I have seen good prices for hotels off site just remember the parking fee daily unless you have the incredi- pass.
Go to international drive, they have amazing restaurants
We’re driving NY to FL in January 😅
My niece has set up an air bnb next year. We have a large group so staying on site was out of the question. Only some are going to WDW. I haven’t been back since 2019 before the pandemic so I’m itching to go back. I just became comfortable finding my way seemaround and using the fastpass. I’m not a fan of genie plus. I know it’s gonna stress me out every morning.
I am thinking about staying in a vacation home so far I narrowed it down to reunion or champions gate resort. I also am thinking about maybe renting dvc for a couple days.
Me and My Bestfreind Are Going In October Of Next Year We Love The Not So Scary Halloween 😊
We drove twice to Disney and didn’t stop at hotels. Just stopped at rest stops for a few. Then kept driving.
Do you have to make reservations at every restaurant in the park? Also do you pay ahead of time or on the day you eat
It was cheaper taking Uber rather than a taxi at the airport in my opinion for the ones with no car
Is Dinoland really leaving? 😢
No it’s not official it’s still in the “blue sky” phase
On-site perks?? There aren’t any. Nothing is worth the ridiculous overpriced rates being charged.
Alternate option: buy VR glasses and edibles.
Family of 4, staying on property, going to MNSS, arrive on a friday leave monday, 2 park hopper days.... around 3K total.. It can be done on a decent budget.. We love to visit as much as possible.
I’m currently planning one with my soon to be fiancée I think with the cost of flights and a week there it’s like $4,000 but only doing the one park a day so we can save money for trinkets and whatnot.😅
I live 2 hours from Disney ! But I never go lol
Okay, hear me out.....a DDP but just snacks....Like 4 per day
Do you fly at all?
HELL YEAH. I'LL GO TO WALT DISNEY WORLD FOR A CHEAP PRICE
Im planning disney for 2026
Another cheap way to do Disney food: get the kiddie meals! Still a full meal at a fraction of the cost of an adult one!
Lowest cost - talk to Grandma. She'll pay for the trip.
Step 1 - Know a cast member :)
what was that ride/place at timestamp 0:50
First is the China pavilion at EPCOT and the floating rock face is in Pandora at Animal Kingdom.
Thanks
1) airfares never drop - 20 years in revenue management here, I can tell you unless there has been a serious disaster, airfares are never lowered. I am not going to reopen one of my lower bucket fare classes to sell more seats, this means there is no demand and by lowering fares I am not going to create that demand, instead I will just adjust my booking curve for future flights. So always buy early.
2) Uber can be a great option for up to 4 people - we Uber all the time and it has always been reasonable. The benefit of Uber is that the price is per car which reduces the price per person
3) Uber Eats and Amazon are also great options for food delivery - we have done this while staying on property and stocked the fridge with soda and had coffee for the am and breakfast/snacks
Ever since Disney had the get more greedy .pricing us family staying on there resorts. We’ve been renting homes. So much more cheaper then Disney resort! We have our own private pool. It’s cheaper . That’s it
15 minute break every 2 hours 😂 Yea, no. We only stop when the vehicle needs gas or somebody needs the bathroom.
OK, NOW how am I going to get rid of my money?! 💸
im lucky i can drive thear
Disney dfb .
Needs to go back to. 1985. Where fass passes were included . There park hopping was free!? I remember when my wife and I went to Disney in 1995. Walt would be so disgusted
I live a 2 hour flight from Disney world. It's like $55 roundtrip 💀
Disney and Cheap simply do not go together, period!
I’ve noticed that Disney world is starting to look less like a fantasy coming true and more like a carnival with the tattooed, bearded employees
Maybe you all should hold off going to Disney, the rides break down a lot because they aren’t doing upkeep
$200 a night ain't cheap!
NO SUCH THING!!!!!
I understand "progress" and I don't have to like what they have done (or undone) to the parks I remember. I personally however will not be spending that much for the train wreck they have built. All the nerfs and upcharges make me sick. I'll pass.
This was in no way an affordable vacation I have a trip planned for June 2024 with airfare a 3 night stay meal plan for 3 days (no choice) a Cinderella castle lunch2 other restaurants car rental Disney Magic bands no shopping added weight going back I'm in around 3700$ everything is beyond a premium price and is designed to take every last dime from your account if it could god Forbid you come with a massive family just tickets hotel stay and just the meal plan was 1968.34 by itself its def. A 1 and done for me mind you all this was a basic package
Step 1 Don’t go
Disney parks have lost their way. It was formerly about the kids...now it is confusion and picking parents pockets. Throw away the current corporate goals and fire the employed society misfits and twisted management and return to a grounded American family entertainment experience.
The real answer is...just don't.
🍟🍅🍔🍗🍈🥪🍎😁
Flamingo crossing is a great off site budget friendly option to stay. It’s also a Disney owned property so fun.
