Everything built back in those days was meant to last...solid parts and solid construction with minimal things to go wrong. Nowadays the damn things are so packed with cheap crap and too many electronics will be lucky to last 20 years!
I absolutely love videos like these! The process of bringing old machines back to life is also a big hobby for myself. Good luck bringing this car back to its former glory :)
I like this video because instead of breaking stuff you're bringing it back to life this time. That's something new! ;) Looking forward to see it move under its own power!
+Roy Hess Not just russian cars, also really old tractors. My grandpa got a tractor that has been sitting in a barn for maybe like 10-15 years and it starts and runs like it would when it was new.
It would be an amazing project to restore this old beauty back to as much original as is possible (although there won't be no more parts for it, naturally).
Supercar....
That car should be restored, very few vehicles from the soviet era made it to the west, apart from Lada's, which they exported by the thousands to obtain foreign currency. despite what everyone says they were not that bad, built like a tank and easy to repair.
During the design process, GAZ had to choose between a 62 hp (46 kW; 63 PS) 2,700 cc (165 cu in) inline six and a 50 hp (37 kW; 51 PS) 2,112 cc (129 cu in) inline four; Stalin preferred the four, so it was used.[3] For cost efficiency, the engine construction was partially based on that from a 1935 Dodge D5 of which the blueprints were purchased from Chrysler for $20 000.[7] In addition, the headlights were covered by an American patent. In 1952, improved airflow in the engine increased power from 50 hp (37 kW; 51 PS) to 52 hp (39 kW; 53 PS);[11] it climbed to 55 hp (41 kW; 56 PS), along with the new grille, upholstery, steering wheel, radio, and radiator badge, as the M20V (Russian: М-20В), 1955.
Hallo Milo, Leuke video! Grt
I have read up on this one, it has a 4 cylinder 2.1 litre sidevalve engine and was made just after WW2 by Gaz. Pobeda means Victory in Russian. Get Mr Kundy to put a V8 in it.
Heej MasterMilo Team.
the first video that got me watching Milo, still keep coming back to it every now and again, its a great episode and a great car

vagina
+Mujib Marsan =(l)=
Polish alternative of Pobeda is Warszawa M20/201 or sedan and kombi versions which are numbered 202 and 203
Do Polish still have those Warszawas? Or is it rare too?
Andrzej B. Anscheinend passen die Teile gut zu Żuk ...
They are rare aswell. They started to disappear in the 80's.
Russian simplicity! If restored, it would be worth some good money at auction. Soviet cars from that era are pretty rare.
its awesome to have you back Milo!

Greetings from Brazil, Milo! I watch your videos since 4 years ago, and I was missing new videos! Keep on, guys!!
Now let's hope that the followup video will be uploaded soon.. because it is just amazing to see an old car being brought back to life.
I like this video because instead of breaking stuff you're bringing it back to life this time. That's something new! ;) Looking forward to see it move under its own power!

Man what a car. Built to last.
0:43 that 205 though 🤤
Very cool! interesting to see cars like this from around the world!
typical russian cars: Cheap, absolute bare minimum electric and mechanical stuff - and it still runs after 10 years sitting in the rain.
+Roy Hess it was released in 1958, all cars of that year was Cheap, absolute bare minimum electric and mechanical stuff
No 1958 was the year with ESP ABS and lane control systems V-tec and so on xD
Casper Wendt Love your sarcasm
+Roy Hess Not just russian cars, also really old tractors. My grandpa got a tractor that has been sitting in a barn for maybe like 10-15 years and it starts and runs like it would when it was new.

Cool video it's like "roadkill" from USA. Also greetings from New Zealand.
+timothy huston yup dutch roadkill XD
wanneer komt er een nieuwe videoo
It could be I'm tired since I just woke up, but I coulda swore in the subtitles it said "I have great thrust in Russian engineering" or something.
They actually did
+Mike Soda Well considering Russia was just making tractors and Packard knock-offs before this car it has to be some kind of improvement.
Nice! Good Job +mastermilo82! Probeer de auto te restaureren :P
Subtitles are really appreciated :)

Leuk man!
