I used to live in Shirley too, when I first moved to Southampton, so know it very well. It's changed a bit over the years, but it's still the same old Shirley! Think I might make a video on Freemantle next, if it doesn't rain! 👍🙂
😮A mixture of the old with the new, thank you Paul. Plested pies remember from Manchester St, the character of the old buildings. 20mph! I wonder how many have noticed?! So many shops, cafes shut😕 I always went to The Hungry Diner when I took my car for MOT ☹️ thank you for sharing Paul 👍
@@neilmcbeath954 I imagine they were reffering to 'Polish' Shirley has the highest Polish population in the UK outside London...& thank god because they pretty much saved the area, Its become a great place to live over the last 15 years. 🙂
@@Harrispilton22 Please don't misunderstand me. I like Shirley. I used to live in Seymour Road and I would agree with you. Close the skleps and Shirley High Street would consist of Hammonds the Jeweller and charity shops.
@@neilmcbeath954 Good to hear. We've got about 5 or 6 great bars opened now as well. You can actually have a good night out without going into town. I only moved here in 2009 because it was cheap..now i dont want to move!..although you still have to be a bit streetwise at night.☺
