Red McCombs? Beautiful work Bruce. I've learned to do silver work watching your videos and have made several sets of really nice spurs and many belt buckles, headstall buckles, spur strap buckles, etc. Thanks for inspiring me Bruce! Would love to meet you someday

very nice work! i enjoy watching your videos on spurs, saddles, bits, and all your creative leather workings too. I have about 10 subscriptions and every time I skim your channel I am hoping to see new ones. You ought to post some more!

i like the custom spurs Bruce! I ride cattle sorting and cutting, i was hoping you could do some more detailed videos on making some awesome sorting/cutting spurs. I think you should do some kind of raffle or contest to win some gear that you make! Obviously, I would like to get some of your gear. Anything from saddles to axes. Look forward to seeing more great videos.

Is the shank measured from the heel band end to the other end or just to the rowel pin?

I measure from the back of the heel band to the tip of the spur shank.

A couple of questions. #1- Are you using a grade of steel that doesn't rust easily? #2 For your rowels, why couldn't a person just cut slices out of a piece of round stock? It seems it would save a lot of time and is sure to be perfectly round.

I use 4130 aircraft alloy for the heel bands it does gain a patina after use that actually helps high light the silver work. Rowels can be made all kinds of ways round stock would be a real time saver as well as have your pattern water jet or laser cut. Thanks for asking

Bruce my name is Frank, and I'm a welder apprentice. Id love to give my hand a try at making some custom spurs. Is there anyway you be willing to release a sketch with dimensions of the main pieces? Any help would be appreciated sir. *****

Like nearly everything you will find them on the internet.
Drawing cowboy spurs, that's enough to give you a start.
