Some info for this video: it took ZiQi 2 years to produce this video. Last year, she was busy with other stuffs when the rice was almost ready to be harvested. So she continued to finish the whole video this year . That’s why you can see same shots & scenes in her previous video (plowing on the field with cattle). Hope this will help u to know that how hard she has been working all the time.😊
I'm completely speechless. As a Vietnamese, I can totally understand the hardship of growing rice. The farmers, throughout centuries, have been spending their lives on the fields with their faces given to earth and backs given to sky. Therefore, this video is so meaningful. It shows not only the beauty of the countryside, but also the beauty of wet rice agriculture - the culture that has been raising many many generations of Asian people. I feel touched, I feel grateful and proud of being a Vietnamese (most of Asians share the same agriculture). Thank you so much for making this video about growing wet rice progress. You are so admirable. I will be your fan till the very end. Thank you so much. I love you!
We have exactly the same phrase in Chinese: 面朝黄土背朝天 : face towards the yellow soil and back towards the sky. Bravos my Vietnamese (and all my asian) neighbour brothers and sisters 😄
I'm from the Southeastern USA. I love rice. I now have a new appreciation for those who grow it. I love you Liziqui! And to all you farmers out there, whatever you grow, THANK YOU from my heart.
Just to let you know that Liziqi have donated a lot of money from she earned to students who can’t not afford the education fees because she was helped by others when she was young. She is a very kind heart lady!
She showed sowing, planting, harvesting of rice in one video. It might look easy while watching but it takes a lot of patience and strength. Inspired by her hardwork.
This is alot of work because they are still using traditional way of harvesting. Here in Philippines we already using modern machinery to harvest. It’s take alot of hard work. My father is a farmer and I experienced first hand what Liziqi is doing in the video. The grains are actually really itchy especially if you dry them under the sun. You needs to mix them everynow and then so that they will dry evenly. It’s so hard that Philippine government take the Farmers for granted. They prefer to talk about something less important in my opinion. It’s really disappointing because my country is an agricultural yet the farmers are often neglected. I really admire Lizi because she’s showing the true aspects of life. I wished many Filipinos will see this particular video.
Liziqi, I came across your channel when my daughter was admitted to hospital. You have no idea how much you instantly inspired me and kept me sane in that 4 long days. You may have a lot of videos on your channel but i tell you, I watched them all. I cannot count how many times I've watched this one video.. I'm a home gardener/landscaper designer, we only need to run to the store to buy meat but everything else I grow at home. So I know how hard work it is to grow food sometimes but reaping the ongoing rewards afterwards is worth the body aches & pains. Hope you see this and know how much you've inspired not just me and my family but us subs on here. Love from Australia 💖
suzziii Well you should be getting good payment but have you even tried more difficult jobs? If you did then you will know that famers aren’t the most difficult but still difficult
@@amanda.._.. oh yes ur right also. but i think. it's not about how difficult every job is. it's about how can u handle the job is. and how u enjoyed it. like what liziqui did. she will never be good at cooking or farming if she's not doing it with her whole heart. for me this is my whole point.
I will never take a bowl of rice for granted again. I didn't realise exactly how much hard work goes into growing it. Hope the farmers that grow and sell the rice that we buy from the supermarkets get a fair price for all their hard work!
i think if you buy rice at a supermarket/grocery store, the workers who made that rice available were probably exploited sadly, if you wish to support and stand for fair pay, buying from smaller stores, local stores and farmers markets are good idea, although of course they cant always have everything that you need :)
In the USA, most of our produce- including rice is machine harvested. But rural areas, like her hometown, I also hope they get fair payment for their hard work. (Though I believe, she may have split the crop with the other farmers or did swapped labor- you help my crop and I help yours.) I don't really know though. :) I would like to know to know how the system works for food in rural China. In some of her videos and other UA-cam channels, it seems that some of the crops farmers share like a co-op.
Here in my village, We have an urban legend for kids to not waste a single grain of rice. Folks says the grains which left behind in rice field will cry, also the rice in our plate.
I read about it saying she at first didn’t have camera man or team. Maybe it’s difficult to film in the watery field, so extra people helped her as well.
I love her videos!! But wish she would stay consistent with the subtitles....some videos have them, while others leave u guessing at everything....but her dedication is top notch!💙
every time i see her grandma i realize that she for years must have done the same thing liziqi is doing, and it makes me happy to see that old lady chilling when her granddaughter serves her supper.
@@rainrainbow350 but you have to be fairly wealthy to be able to have so so much land to actually be able to self sufficient for a whole year and beyond. Look at the trees around the house, they are old. They are there for many generations. While it is undoubtedly true that she and as seen the previous generations is hard working it all remains a speculation in the end because it is a video put together for viewers.
@egoxrt Her grand mother and grand father taught liziqi almost everything liziqi knows today, so i doubt she did nothing. Plus, being wealthy doesn't mean you don't do anything. I mean at least if i got wealthy, i would still be working, but probably choose something that i love to do.
I feel like she is the only one who is really living. All of us have a schedule we have to follow to survive every day. This is what you call a living! I want to live like her!
Exactly... This channel reminds us that life can be simple. I think that's why it makes us feel good. In modern society we spend so much time to make money, and then we spend that money/time on things that are sold to us as happiness, a happiness that never truly satisfies and never fulfill us. Maybe these videos are the best summary of happiness... simple moments with people, purposeful work and a good meal.

When I was younger I was taught to always finish my rice and to never waste food This video really shows how hard work and dedication comes for Rice. Thank you for sharing your videos ❤️
As a person who eats rice 🍚, I deeply respect the process for the farmers harvesting every single grain. God bless the farmers and God bless Liziqi 🙏❤️

I show this video to my 8 years old son just before the dinner, he then didn't leave any grain of rice in the bowl. Thanks for make this wonderful video!! Love ~
Those who give 👎 for this videos doesn’t understand the real hardwork of labor for a farmer... from growing the seedlings 🌱 to planting to harvesting... this work is not that easy and we all see in the video they work it manually with their own effort and strength... In my place (Philippines) which my father was also a rice farmer and we’re going with him to the farm during the harvest time.. catching frogs on the rice fields... this video gives me good memory of my childhood and my father... 😭💗😍 I hope everyone can see the good of it.. Ziqi is simply the best.. good health for you always Ziqi... 🙏🏻🙏🏻🙏🏻

Your video recalls my memory of my childhood so much. I remember when I was a kid, I didn't want to go to kindergarten school, I cried my eyes out because I just wanted to follow my mom to the rice field. My mom, of course, did not let me follow, but she told that if I was nice at school, she would let me go after school then. Every day, after school I ran as fast as I could to the rice field, just looking her working and picked up some rice to smell. I really missed that smell, that scenery and the image of my peaceful village. Your video makes me think of the way I value my life. I think we all compare our life with others somehow, but the important thing is how we treasure our present moment, live the life that we really want...
I grew up with this type of life...now I'm in my 70's, still missed it . I'm in a different country with different lifestyle but still doing things that reminds me of provincial life.

That is why I find Mao Zedong so stupid. China has always been agriculture country, then he did industrialize by FORCING MILLIONS from the farm. thus killing MILLIONS of people. Now in China, many people left their home town with 61 millions children living with their grand parent and only met their parent ONCE PER YEAR. Farmers are always need because food is the basis of life.
Or, maybe it's because she is constantly active and working hard. There's a lot to be said for working hard, eating a lot of (really healthy, homemade) food to replace the energy you used, and sleeping well because of it.

Most people don’t know were there rice comes from and the most natural rice is hand picked and made from hard work which is why we should all appreciate the people who grow our rice. Hand picking every grain
yeah, watching this made me feel both guilty and confused as to how I can get rice from the store for so cheap! Also, I've snacked on the dry rice at the bottom like she did, I didn't know that was a way to use that! I'll never throw it away again, it's delicious btw.
This is basically my childhood, raised in a rice farm by the strongest person in the village that is my father. My teenage years spent helping him in the fields, rain and shine. That's why this video brings smile on my face coz it brings back those blissful memories of my youth, and trust me it is hard work especially for a girl like Liziqi. A few things that she does make me cringe too, like how she wore a simple shirt while harvesting rice that can be really itchy to the skin. We would normally wear long sleeved clothing to cover us from the sun and from the rice. She's such a strong girl though.

Everything is so beautiful in her camera. She presents everything in a peaceful way and makes it seem easy. I watch this video with tears. I know everything in rural life is tough. I have spent a few years in rural China. Working in the field was torture to me. The weather is hot and humid in summer, sweats along body all day long. Insects bite. Crops poke and make your itch. Every day, muscles ache and are sore. The wind cuts your skin like a knife in winter when you work outdoor. The happiness is only after harvest, during mid-autumn festival and spring festival (Chinese new year). Foods taste much better after hard work and when they are fresh or homemade. Thanks to Ziqi for making rural life so poetic.

When i was a child, i was tired of harvesting rice 😭 specially drying rice Liziqi you are amazing ❤️wish you a happy life, love from Vietnam 🙆
you are right. when I was a kid. I join my mother to the farm. We make coconut oil for cooking. We need to collect 50 coconuts and split them into two. After cutting we have to heat all the coconut content until completely dry. The process of making coconut oil is not easy. In China a thousand years ago, a great poet Li Shen wrote a poem : Sympathy for the peasants 悯农 Hoeing millet in midday heat 锄禾日当午 Sweat dripping to the earth beneath 汗滴禾下土 Do you know the food on your plate 谁知盘中餐 Each grain was hard-earned 粒粒皆辛苦
My family owns a rice field, my god the amount of work!!!! I often have to help whenever I’m home and it’s so hard. Even when they’re still growing they need to be attended because so many birds are eating the grains and we don’t use scarecrows anymore since the birds are not scared of them, so we put all these ropes all throughout the field and we have to pull them whenever birds are eating so they’ll flew away. But the real work is when you harvest them. So. Much. Work. That’s why in my country we are always taught to respect the rice, and not just because its the main part of our meal but because of the work that goes into producing them.
thts true. i grew up seeing my parents working hard in the rice fields. so the value of each grain. but due to the extra work needed for rice these days many people have left cultivating rice here in my place.

Its sad that this is all completely fake.. you do realise these channels are commissioned by the (authoritarian) chinese government as basically pro chinese propaganda videos made for a western audience. Rural china is certainly not like this at all whatsoever no one actually lives like this in real life.. its an idyllic dream of what living in the country must be really like for people who live in cities. These videos are highly scripted edited and directed by a team of people trying to make it look as perfect as possible and seem normal. Sadly normal people in china cant access social media like youtube/facebook you do realise so stuff like this cant come from a normal person.. its all part of a massive program to make china look good to westerners. In fact its one of the worst places in the world in terms of human rights.. all the freedoms we take for granted here in the west like freedom of speech ect you dont have there.. its ruled over by someone who now can basically rule for life and is basically an autocratic dictator. its become a police state where people are literally ranked on a social credit points system like in black mirror and if you are ranked low you cant fly on planes and stuf.. its true look it up.

What @David 527 says is partly true: the video looks like an idyllic dream, almost like a paradise on earth, highly edited, police state, etc. But I would not say that it is "completely fake", 100% fake, because actually many people do these things. What @贾旭瑞 says is also true, this is part of the life of the farmers, just not so idealized, so "free", so perfect. Otherwise, why so people many emigrate to the cities? So, @luvslyfe1, what is the "misinformation", which phrase from David's comment is false, whether you like it or not? At the same time, I would not idealize either the West.

It's nuts man. I think it's mostly because the video and editing is so good. Makes it look like there's a massive studio behind each of these videos she makes. The reality of her just being that jaw droppingly talented in every aspect of her life is unreal.

李莆之 yes she can remain silent since she didn’t break any laws or cause harms to anyone. It’s her choice for God’s sakes. As authoritarian as China is it cannot and does not control every single citizen unless they become a threat to the system. I know it’s hard to comprehend for a naive audience bombarded nowadays by anti-China propaganda, but think for yourself for once. Yes China is totalitarian regime and increasingly so under president Xi, but most Chinese people are just living their lives day by day, doing their jobs as best as they can. Why demonize a regular joe who isn’t part of any government organization or official media, and who happens to be really good at what she does for a living? Just because she is Chinese so she is penalized? Wow if that’s not racism I don’t know what is.

She showed sowing, planting, harvesting of rice in one video. It might look easy while watching but it takes a lot of patience and strength. Inspired by her hardwork.
She didn't include the weeding part yet and putting fertilizer
and ploughing also
And cooking and eating voww she is really vowwww
Yeah you right I relate her hard work, same her I work before in ricefeld. I'm also a girl farmer before.
粒粒皆辛苦Behind each grain was hard labour and sweat. That’s why you should never waste any food.

farmers are actually the most difficult job in the entire world without them we don't have food to eat in our table. ♡
Yes, their job is important and it is difficult but it is not the hardest job in the world.
@@amanda.._.. for me. it's the most difficult. and yet in my country they don't even get the right payment for what they do.
suzziii Well you should be getting good payment but have you even tried more difficult jobs? If you did then you will know that famers aren’t the most difficult but still difficult
@@amanda.._.. oh yes ur right also. but i think. it's not about how difficult every job is. it's about how can u handle the job is. and how u enjoyed it. like what liziqui did. she will never be good at cooking or farming if she's not doing it with her whole heart. for me this is my whole point.
True
I will never take a bowl of rice for granted again. I didn't realise exactly how much hard work goes into growing it. Hope the farmers that grow and sell the rice that we buy from the supermarkets get a fair price for all their hard work!
No they dont get a fair prize tyats why manynof farmers change their crops
i think if you buy rice at a supermarket/grocery store, the workers who made that rice available were probably exploited sadly, if you wish to support and stand for fair pay, buying from smaller stores, local stores and farmers markets are good idea, although of course they cant always have everything that you need :)
ج

Thanks to all the farmers, all over the world. It's a tough job.

Watching this video again, I realized that their labor produced 3 sacks of rice. Mad respect to farmers and all the time and effort they put into modest yields.

It's very humbling.. I miss my home 💞
Man, this is just a video, don't take it too seriously. Born and raised in a farmer family, I can tell there is no gesture of her showing she is a real farmer :) However I still enjoy watching her videos

The way you work really hits me hard😩❤Such a lovely person who takes so much care of her grandma and does so much hard work. Wish I could live n work with you😩💛. Love from Nagaland ❣️
Thanks to Ziqi for making rural life so poetic.
yes.
The situation is probably better where Ziqi lives. China is vast, Liuzhou is in southern China where there’s no winter.

Yeah. In my country (South East Asian region), there are sayings about rice to persuade children to finish and not waste their rice. The sayings goes like these "Every grain of rice are the farmer's sweat" and "If you don't eat the rice, they (the leftover rice) will cry"

She looks so thin and delicate but Im pretty sure her muscles are super toned from all the work she does. My grandmas the same way and she can still do heavy farm work at 88 years old.
My grandma is the same, she's 82 and she still does everything by herself. My grandpa passed away few years ago and now she lives by herself. We are close by so we can visit often but still she can not sit and watch tv like other people she's always doing something :)

My granny was the same - true farmer until the end.
I dont know if her body is too thin. But most of the people here are either as slim as her or a bit more muscular. I live in the farm and we plant rice and sugarcane and other vegetables.

After cutting we have to heat all the coconut content until completely dry. The process of making coconut oil is not easy. Drives drench, peel, grind, soak, and cook the coconut layers soaked overnight.

Pilipino👍
In my country we say “ don’t let a grain of rice fall down the floor “.
thts true. i grew up seeing my parents working hard in the rice fields. so the value of each grain. but due to the extra work needed for rice these days many people have left cultivating rice here in my place.
pilipino💪
same here, im chinese , and my parents would beat us when we dont finish our rice cause they know how hard it takes to grow rice
That's why I eat every single grain of rice on my plate. Much Respect!

This is what grandma taught us when we growing. Never waste a grain because it is golden.
Sometimes there's plastic in rice lol

So, Don't waste any grain. Finish up every single grain in our plate ...

She doesn't roast anyone, she doesn't make fun of anyone else's content and yet managed to gain subscribers purely based on her hardworking & skilled hands and yet showed how to make the best content on youtube without looking anyone bad while living such a simple life.
P.S. guys even if some of you think that this channel is a propaganda by the Chinese Government then still it contains the best content than most of the contents on youtube nowadays. My eyes at least don't get tired watching countless roasting channels, ASMRS, or make-up tutorials. We get to learn new crafts or the knowledge about the real human civilization which is living close to the nature. I don't disrespect anyone's opinion. I just stated what I noticed. I hope everything is well with everyone.
@@roro-mm7cc actually it's still the main part of many farmers' live in china nowadays. I know it because that's what my grandfather is doing in fall
@@luvslyfe1 its not trolling.. I'm literally just stating actual TRUE facts. ironically you are the one spreading disinformation by trying to sensor me..
@@luvslyfe1 please educate yourself stop being so naive.. do you really think ppl ACTUALLY live like this with this perfect garden with literally all possible plants. no you dimbo lots of people had to work hard to create this paradise garden (which is a set). I know lots of people farm in china the planting rice and stuff is normal (they have chosen a particularly beautiful place to film obviously) .. i mean specifically this girl with her huge perfect garden that contains like all the decorative plants and edible vegetables in the world .. somehow run by just her and her old granny.. its a fantasy.
