Just a note. This compressor puts out a constant 25 psi or so. The 60 psi is just air built up in the hose. You're supposed to blow off the excess before you draw paint into the brush. This means the compressor should always be running while actually painting
I've learned to do that since then. I still have a lot to learn; it is not that easy. Thank you for the help. Any suggestions on cleaning in between paint colors?
Thanks for explaining that. I was beginning to look for a regulator to limit the air to 25psi. I've have an issue with mine splattering. Since I'm brand new to AB I assume I just need to learn to adjust the needle etc.
The big black clip style paper clips make excellent airbrush holders. Clip it on, and put the metal wing hanging out. Insert the air brush. All five of my brushes have this as the holder, they are about a buck for five, and work just as good as anything else, and are more easily moved.
Just got one of these kits pretty nice only thing I do not like is that the glass jar fell out of my airbrush while in use luckily it still holds paint without leaking but still hate the fact that is fell out
Look on ebay for airbrushes. I had that exact HF airbrush and it works fine but it's a pain to clean. I bought a $13 with free shipping gravity fed airbrush on ebay, and it works amazingly and is much easier to clean. It was available in black, gold, and red and the seller I ordered from ships out of New Jersey. I can send you the link if you want

You have taken a step in the right direction. This is going to be fine for someone who is using this for hobby projects. The only thing is that you will have a hard time using another airbrush with that setup for the point of NPT, BSPT.... if you know you know....
Great video. I got one for myself for Christmas and unfortunately I’m going to have to bring it back. Mine has an issue where the compressor can’t hold pressure and if you continuously blow air out of the airbrush it drops down to 18 psi, so it’s borderline useless. If I can get a working one then I think it’ll be fine.
No, it won't. Buy a quiet shop compressor. They are affordable, and more versatile, and you can use it for far more than airbrushing. I use mine to paint and engrave, run my nailers, etc. It's great for all small tools.
@@dowork3709 that means it's your nozzle. bring it back. Use the money to buy one of their fortress quiet compressors, and order a creos/mr. Hobby platinum gravity feed brush. With a compressor like this you will never get consistent lines. Unless it has a tank, these things are garbage.
I think harbour freight sells the same type. I'm not sure what the fitting diameter is but I thinks it's a braided air accessory next to their compressor accessory area.
yeah no one ever catches that with that harbour freight model took me ages to figure it out buried in pages of comments somewhere on internet-even the website doesnt explain it (its terrible the instructons dont tell you this) the psi valve for regulating the air pressure is under the filter cup. I know its weird spot and the dial is so tiny most dont realize its there- at the bottom there is a screw to adjust it (try it with just air and you will see gauge change (just remember its only goes to about 56-60 psi for this model pending who sets it at manufacture end in China)
I bought a 'Master Airbrush' on Amazon. It came with an inline air pressure regulator. Works with the HF hose. You can then adjust air flow lower than 50psi. Compressor will then start/stop less. Water based paints work good between 28-34psi.

Use the bottles, not that paint cup. The siphon hole in that cup is almost halfway up from the bottom. It won't even hold paint at an angle. These are a decent utility grade airbrush IF you use it with siphon bottles. That silly color cup can go right into the metal recycling.
@@JoePalumbo221 thinner depends on type of paint (and yes you should thin those basic cheap acrylics from craft store) the acrylics from cheap craft store works by thinning it with water or alcohol however people find that windsheild washer fluid works best (i think it has to do with its the level of methanol in it) if you dont thin the paint will clog at nozzle how much it clogs is dependent on thickness of paint and the size of needle being used etc eg; 0.5 needle is quite small for regular acrylic cheap craft paint to be shot through it-thin it to a milk consistancy try a 50/50 ratio you can adjust it so the paint doesnt run/spiders on work or comes out splotchy, also adjust the psi used higher psi for thicker paint but it will be less fine detailed lines
@@JoePalumbo221 Regulator is the tiny screw under the filter cup, its in an odd spot and screw nob rather then the standard big nobs used for valves- i guess you can always glue a nob on via a round block sized right and mounted to screw but never tried
The paint bucket drives me nuts. You have to hold the gun parallel to the ground always. Otherwise it's a great starter kit. If the bucket was on top and was gravity fed, then it'd be a steal.
That a flaw on HF part I found a bent neck paint cup made for the Paasche model H I think. It keeps it more level and also more comfortable to hold. But honestly I prefer my gravity and don't use my siphon much.
I think I would have to agree. I've been using it for awhile now and maybe it's my lack of experience with air brushing but...just seems to be finicky and constantly having to adjust.
Thanks for the tip and honest review. I just bought the kit myself and I’ve never used an airbrush! I’m definitely looking forward to starting 😅
It kicks on like that because it DOES NOT have a tank. It's only a compressor.

No, it's probably something with the nozzle...there are a ton of great vids on here to help you with that.

That I am not sure. It does hols a steady flow while running.
No. Watch the gauge. Drops 10lbs soon as you push gun.
