Love this video thank you for posting such a detailed walkthrough. I want to do this exact same thing on same bike. What are the cons of any if you only lower the rear and not the front?

Actually with this bike I didn’t have any issues with the looks or handling. I generally lower the front 2 inches depending how far down I take the rear. But I left this one stock in the front and loved the look and feel

the link for the springs dont work, whats the name of the shock you got? i love the look and final look of your VN. I've got the same one but blacked out.

      Sorry for late response
They were Harley Burly springs. In a more recent video I show what needs to be done to the burly shocks to fit them. It’s really easy

Do you know if they will work on a 2008 1600? Thanks.

Looking at the schematics on that bike they should work. Says they use the same size shock mounts as this Vulcan 1500. May have to reuse ur stock bushings but you could certainly make it fit

    Hey!
I have a 1996 Vulcan 1500 classic myself and have a question about the length of the braking cable.
Did you have to replace the cables to be able to put the ape hangers on it? THANKS!!!

I was able to route the stock cables to work with these bars

@@rev7garage Alright! Are they long enough for 16" apes you think? Can't find any information about it anywhere else. Many thanks!

16inch apes won’t work with stock cables. You will need +5inch cables I believe

@@rev7garage Thank you! I will start looking for +5inch cables.

Hey I’m putting a 23 on the front and was wondering if I would have to do a conversion. My vstar is bobbed out too. Would love to get your opinion on it.

23 on a Vstar? What conversion are you referring too? Curious about your build for sure

@@rev7garage a rake conversion for the 23inch front wheel. I definitely got inspired by your work. I can’t wait to see the progress.

Interesting! I’d love to see that for sure. The rake portion would be easy. Finding a 23in wheel with same axle may be harder... unless they make a kit
Glad I can inspire! I’ve been slow making new content but got lots of bikes stuff goin on
