How can any wired headphones not be compatible with PS5? Shouldn't it work by simply connecting it the the jack of the DualSense controller? As for the surround, it would be controlled from the console itself and not the headset... Am ı wrong?
the surround would be controlled through console if you can toggle it, just because something can be connected via wire, doesn't mean it will just work. That's why they have headsets specifically for xbox one, ps4, pc, etc. Also if you do not connect via usb, youd have less options in general typically. My understanding (and my testing with 3 headphones and earplugs) shows me that the big difference between PS4 and PS5 is that the 3D Audio setting of the PS5 enables the console to handle virtual surround natively, therefore negating any need for VSS on the headset, whereas the PS4 relied on the headset to be able to do it by itself. The proof is that enabling 3D Audio on PS5 makes games like The Last of Us 2 recognize even your earplugs as "headphones (surround 3D)"... and I can confirm it works.
ive also experienced optimization quirks on playstation headsets that are "supposed" to work with pc, they do, but they disconnect randomly on occasion. I also need to unplug and re plug the dongle every bios boot :(. I suppose using a wire should just work but it makes me question if it is even doing what it is supposed to natively, we can talk anytime lol

What Koss set are you using? Like you I'm a single player non audiophile I just need a good headset that has 7.1 Maybe or just at least good Punchy sound to liven up the action While others are sleeping or I'm not trying not to disturb anyone. I'm thinking of getting some Razer headphones their thx-certified I like things that are t h x certified to me they sound good just don't know how the headphone sound but I have some computer speakers that are certified they sound amazing for what they are.

don't buy this shit the cable is so small, apart from that the cable curled up so bad it messed up the insides somehow and the sound keeps cutting off to only being heared in one ear
