@@chaodong4620 Thank you for your help. I thought in one of the comments it said redwood, but I cannot find it now, as I wondered how Grandfather would find that there. It makes more sense that it is a tree that grows in China. It is very beautiful. The colour is wonderful.

After watching the entire video, go back to 0:15. The beautiful tissue box started with two simple wood blocks. Every bit of the wood blocks was used. There was no waste. A true environmentalist! The whole thing came together like a puzzle with traditional and skillful craftsmanship. Grandpa Amu was thinking 3 dimensionally while cutting all the wood pieces. So amazing!

It doesn't come from the mindset of being an environmentalist, it comes from a time when materials were expensive and labor was cheap.
