There’s a few people that I’ve spoken with that has this motto, I know I didn’t want to put any pressure on myself but I think I’m going to join this one, I can’t see the harm in enjoying more in 24 🤣😂🤣😂

29:01 Happy 2024 Jeanette to you Tim and not forgetting Zac Loved the Q&A with you both Well done on not one but 2 pairs of socks Thats something i want to have a go at this year i always by my lot PJ"s & socks a Christmas Eve tradition. In a period of financial difficulties, my lovely kids as they were at the time were happy with just our Eve tradition that was most important to them. It wasn't all they got, but it warmed me that it had such meaning for them and would have still made Christmas for them.
So a hand made pair would be really nice so for a true sock virgin a recommended beginner pattern or tutorial would be much appreciated.

Happy New year Janette. I love Christmas traditions p, such special time for family’s. I was thrilled I’d managed 2 pair of socks in December, I’ve never managed that before. Lol
I would say the best tutorial and pattern for socks is winwickmum. It’s a free pattern with really simple instructions. Once you’ve got the basics you get your own recipe. Good luck. Xxx

I always have socks on the needles and have made countless pairs and have never blocked a pair...to me its eating on my knitting time😊 Happy New Year🎉
I’ve had so so many messages saying that people don’t. Lock socks, and I’m thrilled. No more blocking and washing for me. 🤣😂
Happy New Year Cleggies, was so good to see you and all your makes (I could hear Zac crying to get in your craft room.....I initially thought it was my hearing aid😂😂 until you let him in!) Your socks are fab Jeanette and the bears are adorable. I keep admiring all your Toft birds behind you, they are really great.
Dad let little Zak in the craft room, he doesn’t like being without his mama. Lol lol I love my Toft birds, I’m hoping to make a couple more this year. Xx
I agree with you on the shadow wrap heel. I’ve recently started using it and it’s such a quick and easy heel. I have a high instep but it still fits me perfectly. I still do the heel flap and gusset for my husband’s socks but I do them toe up as I find that easier than trying to pick up gusset stitches.
I’ve never done a toe up, maybe that’s something I need to try this year. Xx. Can you recommend a tie up pattern for a beginner. Xxx
@@craftycleggscreations like you my socks are knitted to bits and pieces from different patterns. I originally used the Sockmatician’s toe up sock recipe which involves maths and German Short Rows. I use Jooles of Sew Sweet Violet’s Beeny Toe as it’s nice and firm and toes don’t poke through it. If I think of a suitable toe up heel flap and gusset pattern I will let you know.

Happy new year Jeanette. I'm the same with paper craft, I love making journals but don't use them. I especially love making collage fodder and embellishments when I want to make something but don't know what. I don't use it, I give it away or look at it. 😊
Journaling is definitely a new found love of mine. I could sit for hours sticking and creating,and it’s so therapeutic. I’m definitely going to journal more in 2024, even if it’s just. How many steps I managed to walk that day or what I’ve eaten for dinner.

Happy New Year dear Jeanette, Tim and Zac 🎉 it’s so great to hear from you!! I’m very envious of your sock progress. - I’ve been plodding away on my first pair of toe up socks by dear Jooles. I’m also finishing the last sleeve of a cably cardigan 😊 the other project I’m working on is our little granddaughter’s first birthday present and this is the one you’ll really love. It’s a farmyard playset from Simply Knitting last year - I’ve almost done all the squares, then I get to knit the veggie patch, the pond etc and then all the cute little animals - its so cute 🥰 have a wonderful week!
Wow Elizabeth what a lot of fabulous projects, I have a couple of sock patterns from jooles and I’m hoping to make a pair this year for Easter. The farmyard play set sounds like a lovely project and to make it for your granddaughter makes it all the more special I think. Xxx

Your little bear looks fantastic in his yellow coat, reminds me of a fisherman. And the Paddington bear looks great in the darker wool. And will look fabulous in the lighter one. I plan to make more! Girl, two pair of socks in basically a month. You are the sock queen. I really do like the scrappy ones, but I love the Christmas Eve socks. I always think about trying socks, but chicken out. Not a knitter anymore, so there is that. Maybe I'll try a crochet pair this year. Have a wonderful New Year.

I can feel your excitement at finishing TWO pairs of socks, what an achievement, and I love the small bear's coat and wellies, the large bear is gorgeous whatever shade of brown. I'm busy crocheting a granny square cardigan for my oldest granddaughter as she's into crochet clothing, she's 20 and at Uni. Dawn got me back into crochet after a break of about 43 years!!! x

Wow! Great job on your socks! I love WYS. Since 2024 started, I have been making toys for a shoebox ministry at my aunt’s church. I am also still working on my temperature blanket from 2023. 2024 will be a temperature tree in cross stitch. I have competed the tree branches and I am now just adding one leaf a day. Much less to do each day than that blanket! There are many designs in cross stitch for temperatures so I am not doing another blanket. There is also a pattern for a snake that looks fun to do.
Wow you do have a lot on the go but it’s nice to have a choice. Lol. I have seen a pattern for a temperature snake, I did wonder about trying it. Xx

Your socks are gorgeous! I've just knit two pairs using the magic heel, its amazing especially when doing socks as presents. The pattern is on ravelry. I knit them like you, do one cuff do the other etc, definitely feels better when you get to the end and they are both done xx
For me, it’s certainty works well 2 at a time. Xx

Hi Jeanette well done on getting your socks finished they look fab. I had a very quite Christmas and new year due to having chemo sessions so was unable to see family due them all having colds and I can’t mix with them. I did do a video call so I could see my granddaughter open her presents which was lovely. Xx

Love both pairs of socks and your little Teddy Bears are just the cutest. I spent New Year's Eve with my better half and our dog! He chose a film for us to watch and I was knitting away. It was lovely! He had his spiced rum to see the new year in, and I had my coffee! I am just about to cast on a pair of socks, I am going to try knitting them both at the same time. I don't usually suffer with second sock syndrome, but I think it would be nice to complete the pair together. Happy New Year to you and your family. Stress no more in 24 is my motto for this year! xx
