I know this guy is awesome at teaching I can tell just by how he does it, but I cant even figure out what chord hes playing in the first place, E chord is a totally different shape from what Im seeing online
Absoluetly love ur channel. Ive been playing for years but ive still learned quite a few things from u. U make alot of the music theory things understandable and simplified. Very nice work.
Playing bass at open mics has really helped my bass walks on the acoustic guitar. One can only pluck out root notes for so long before becoming bored and figuring out the walk ups and walk downs. Good video.
I've used bass walks so many times, but not just to add some ear candy, but to help cover up my slow chord transitions. It gives your fretting hand time to get a clean position before you press down and strum. Great tip, Tony!
cool video :). bass walks are an entirely different sound then simply fretting the chord straight away...... one is one and one is the other..... bass walk sounds sexy and bluesy for sure, in a parlor guitar on the porch sorta way......, don't stop practicing chord fretting fast and well formed w/ ur fingers..... because bass walks only gonna work sometimes :).
Oh wow! I had no idea you guys had a UA-cam channel 🙊🙊🙊!!! I always clicked on the ads and even signed up for an email subscription. Glad I've found ya😊😊😊
Is the bass walk the same as bass turn around bass notes? I notice at the end of a phrase, add a few bass note prior to transit to the next chord. Thanks for sharing
Asa bassist that might sound better if you did it as 3 beats (3&4) and included the A first. (A,Bb,B then to C on the one) As A and B actually exist in C and G major. It makes the chromatic sound better. Starting on the Bb doesn't sound all that great. If you only want to do it on the 1/4 notes, I'd sub the A for the B flat. (and you only have to fret one note on the way there) Just my take. This definitely works, though.
I can hear and find the chords to a song but without the aid of listening, on my own I can't play guitar. I find learning hymns very difficult. I just can't seem to follow the bass.
Hey, Tony! dude, pls teach some more advanced stuff like Bluegrass licks or even the songs you play in reviews. Thanks for sharing awesome guitars, btw.
Do you want to play bass walks on every single chord in a song? Is there a formula of when to use bass walking and when not to? Is there a vid for that?
For the open a remember that it's the same note as the 5th fret of the low E string. So you can start on the 3rd of the low E on beat 3, then 4th fret on the 4 beat ending on open A
i dont think anyone has explained it in such a simple yet effective way..what a teacher he is!!!!

@@laneweatherbee2232 Dude I don't think he even played e chord. G major and C major with bass walk it is.
FINALLY! I have been looking for this simple explanation and “formula” for how to do bass runs between chords for YEARS.

Me too!!
For some reason I'm finding it way harder to do bass walks than just changing chords.

Just what i was looking for! Thanks for the upload
This is very good thankyou
Okay this is an awesome lesson! THANKS
Can you do this with other chords like Am and D?
I learned how to play bass from acoustic guitar and got a little bit good at it. Planning to buy a bass and amp
Great tip for someone who only knows three chords
Thank you
So nice 😍❤️
A rotated Winmau Blade 5 on the wall. It's a nice change to see someone with an actual board than one of those horrible paper boards.
Thanks Tony, another Beaut lesson.thanks mate.
Bass walk from C major to Am is pretty good
But do you still have to move your head forward and back when playing ? :-)
Wahh its so easy to understand 😍
I noticed that when counting you only said “ and” for the “up” strum. Do you count that way to note the down and up strums?
Great lesson
Good .I like that
Great lesson! Thank you
How would you do this with the F barre chord?

What if I'm playing the A chord and there's only one fret to take away?
Nice thank you 💕
how do i know when to land key bass note in a beat
I can hear and find the chords to a song but without the aid of listening, on my own I can't play guitar. I find learning hymns very difficult. I just can't seem to follow the bass.

What's the note that is minus two frets to the F chord root note (F4)?
D# on d sring 1st fret if the f maj chord u r playin is on 1st fret
THANK YOU
Guys what if the target root note is a open string like A or the low E?
For the open a remember that it's the same note as the 5th fret of the low E string. So you can start on the 3rd of the low E on beat 3, then 4th fret on the 4 beat ending on open A
Strumming pattern pls
Bass to bass minus 2 ...or Bass2Bass? Brilliant! Bass2Bass......Got it.Thanks!😊
