Tell them again please. Horses are the main transport in the French Quarter even though we have a precinct there it’s easier for horses than the car . That’s why Bourbon always smells like liquor perfume , cologne and manure lol 😂

Thank you. People don't know how much training NOPD horses go through to be able to deal with crowds and drunks during Mardi Gras, Sugar Bowl, etc. They are amazing animals.
You are speaking truth and thank you! Police horses are the most trained and as we say in the horse world 'bomb proof' i can guarantee you that if this horse was scared there would be no way in hell the rider would be able to keep him there. These horses have been trained for every possible scenerio you can think of. They can not be skittish, spook easy, kick, strike etc. If this horse was spooked and had kicked or shied out from underneath the rider, people would be injured and that would be a lawsuit for the PD. Please arm yourselves with knowledge prior to spreading lies.
I can see now why people from Louisiana love their state so much. What a fantastic scene! The music, the dancing... I love the way the officer never loses composure during the whole thing, he really just lets his horse be the real performer.
Yep! And this is an ordinary night here. Lol. You'd be hard pressed to find a police department that's better at crowd contol. And, for the most part, show a laid back attitude while on the job. Amazing!

Police horses are very hard to spook. They are intelligent animals and know their jobs. They can recognize crazy fun vs crazy trouble just as the officers do…..they’re out there every night and see and feel the vibe and intentions of those around them…..But react to what their partner requests (officer) or allows
I've lived here for 33 years! Every Mardi Gra parade & my Kids & I really enjoy the smaller towns parades (less drinking, less continuous music & less drinking. Family Oriented) Especially a St Patrick's parade! They throw cabbages, onions & potatoes plus beads & cups. Always the BEST time in New Orleans is a parade time! P.s. Mardi Gra parades start 30 days before Ash Wednesday, so party on!
I have been around around a lot of horses and lived in two cities that have large mounted police patrols Philly and DC and have never seen anything like this horse. That horse is young and I watched it several times and the officer isn't giving any commands and I really thought when the horse bowed he probably did but after watching just those 5 seconds 10 times the officer was actually looking to the left and then turned quickly when the horse bowed since he felt the horse bow and had to focus on the horse to make sure he didn't stumble. Those who think the horse was scared you don't know what your talking about if that horse was scared his ears would have been pinned back and would have spooked his ears were straight up the whole time and was having a great time like he was playing. Either he was trained to dance to music and does it on his own or he was a dressage horse or he is just a HAM and loves to be the center of attention. Whatever makes him do this it is just priceless and best video I have seen in a long time
am i the only one who thinks that guy dancing with a bottle of liquor is adorable 😂 hes just happily dancing around with the horse and just casually has that bottle in his hand 😂😂😂
That horse was feeling that music. The way he bopped on in, the way he was throwing his head to the side. That horse got funky with the beat. I swear he knew he was battling them.

Omg how beautiful is this girl. Loved how she danced her way through a crowd. She got everyone to move out of her way. And keeping people still enjoying their night. What a human she had allowing her to control the crowd. That takes trust on both sides.
Saw this on Pinterest last night and fell in love with all of it. I think horses are such beautiful animals. What a master of his horse the officer is. Just can't get enough of watching it!!!🐎❤🐎❤🐎❤
I loved how the horse took the time to count the beat and then was so light on his(her?) Feet! I was watching the ears which were folded back to dampen the noise but still perked up to show that he(she?) Was very pleased to be there! And fun fact, horses do not bow if they are scared! They remain standinf or start bucking and kicking their feet. They make a hell of a racket when they are scared. So to those who keep claiming the horse is scared: he(she) is not. Also a nice shoutout to the rider! You have good coreand leg muscles to keep upright while yoyr mount is boogeying to that sweet New Orleans Jazz!
