Sally Blake & Derek Hill Part 3

Sally also had a great friendship with the artist Derek Hill who lived at the Glebe House in Churchill. She had a complete photo album of postcards that Derek sent back to her on his visits all over the world. In this story Sally tells of meeting Derek on the day his good friend Lord Mountbatten was killed at Mullaghmore. Hill arrived back later that evening to his home in Churchill where he introduced Sally to the Duchess of Westminster and Baroness Fermoy, Princess Diana's maternal grandmother who had travelled over on hearing of Mountbatten’s death.
