@@frankieabril2766 Stevie fretted and hit the notes hard, harder than a lot of guitarists. So he was a heavy guitarist/stringer/picker. They're different names for "guitarist" Hope this helped :D
Not only did SRV use .013 gauge strings, but the string action on his guitars was reported to be quite high (like 1/4" above the 12th fret!). Bending strings on that guitar would take an insane amount of strength and some seriously tough fingertips.
Excellent could not finger this out had to go back to school tonight THANK YOU its a great study in right hand rhythm and chucka chucka and some tricky patterns out of that octave goes by fast and it blends so damn cool now to learn to sing it geesh Jimi was and is the coolest ! Great lesson
absolutely brilliant stuff! great to finally see this tune worked out perfectly after so many years! recognized the "Hendrix chord" transposed to the 4 high strings right away... learned that fingering from watching Stevie Ray Vaughan and incorporated it into my own playing.
When ya play the main riff keep your thumb on the low G string. Sounds 100% more lit then single note picking the whole thing. And if you watch the Woodstock version of the song you can even see he's thumbing the G. 👍🏻
@@patrickwiththepower1038 generally I’m mute unwanted strings with the fretting hand and dampen ( palm mute) with the strumming hand. I hope that helps
WRONG !!!! Those three notes in the begginning one after the other are 10 11 12 frets on the A string not the D string. The next ones are on the D.Please people listen to Jimi more carefully. He does things different then we think.
Hendrix was the light stringer, SRV was the heavy stringer. And both sounded phenomenal.
What’s a stringer

Brilliant lesson🤘
50 years on almost, and we are still working out and enjoying his music and it's as fresh now as ever!!!
Yep that’s why we love him so much!
This lesson opens the door to Hendrix's left hand 'thumb style' playing guitar on E bass string. Thank's man!
Thank you for an excellent lesson! So much fun playing that 😊
Nice early '60's guitar too!
One of my favourite songs. For me it came from War Heroes as an import album here in Aust.
Appreciate all your lessons. Well explained . Helped me a lot. Thank you

Great job! Great tone! Looks like a road worn 60s strat. If you can't learn this song from this lesson- you're probably not meant to play guitar.
Great man
great lesson as always ! Can someone explain the theory behind it though ?
Mattteeeee!!! You're a legend! This is perfect bud, can't wait to get my teeth into this one(sorry to have nagged you for so long hahha)
Lol no worries!!
Just out of curiosity, how long have you been playing guitar for mate?
Since I was about 17. So about 17 years
Thanks !
very cool!
thanks
thanks clearly explained off play it!..
Hey man, you should Cover "Send My Love To Linda" from Jimi's new album
Lol. I’ll see
Sounds great man your tone as well sounds good you using a phaser pedal if you don’t mind me asking?
Cheers. It’s been a while since I did this video but I think I was using a micro vibe pedal
As I get old, I prefer songs with all the junk off. It sounds better to me with no effects. Just enjoy it played pure.
Thanks man you're a God
What guitar is that? It’s wicked nice !!!

i know this an old video but could you go over how hendrix does his chords
Good video mate
Cheers mate
Hi there! Is it a strato custom shop?
It’s a road worn strat. The neck radius makes it a bitch to play.
What effects you have? Or is it just a marshall with some chorus and reverb?

When you play fast are you Muting the Strings the same time or let you Ring it all out? Greetings from Germany :)
Which part are you referring to?
@@martlgr Not a specific part are you muting only with your left Hand or do you use palm muting with your right Hand somewhere between?

Silviu Stefan wow three notes 😮 😮,
Not hating but man you really overcomplicated what is essentially a 5 note groove.
