i don't know abt attachment but what i can see in bamboo is that he's a very principled person. he lives by his standards, so when something went off beyond that, when he comes to a point where he can't accept or tolerate it, that's when he walks away. simple as that.

Rivermaya defend to much from him, then suddenly Bamboo realized he wants to do his own thing and why not Bamboo has a lot of potential to do solo and why not. Bamboo said he lives by his philosophy and rules I just that Bamboo is so reserved, discipline himself and he just can get along with much partying and hanging out at night the usual rockbands did.
He is not referring to maya, I think he is describing about his band, Bamboo. Maya don't need him, Rico pretty much filled that spot. Bamboo band relies on his vox, but he also needs Ira, Nates and Vic to rely on songwriting.

no judgement whatsoever i'm a big fan of bamboo but the "attachment" thing miss davila was talking about could be the influence of the individualistic nature of the US. hi DID stay there for quite a while and during a time of growth in a person's life (20+? lol)
