(4K) HEAVY AIRCRAFT FRIDAY!! 747 787 777 A300 Planespotting Chicago O'Hare International Airport

- If you have followed this channel for a while you know there is a bit of a rivalry between the regional jets and the heavy jets when it comes to who is filmed and in what videos they end up in. How the Boeing 757-300 and the CRJ-200 got into this video is a bit of a story...
The Boeing 757-300 named N57857 that you see in this video hinted loudly to me on the approach for runway 10R that he might have to go-around because his spacing was too close with the airplane in front of him. At first I thought this was odd since it seemed there was plenty of spacing between him and the next aircraft on the approach. I filmed the landing and decided later I would discard the file since nothing crazy happened.
We'll get back to him in a minute...
N460AW, a CRJ-200, had a more direct approach to trying to end up in the video by asking for 10C so as to arrive in front of the United 777-300ER which was basking in the glory of being featured while it was attempting to cross 10C and 10L. This was also some discarded footage since I wanted only heavy jet clips for this Heavy Aircraft Friday (HAF) video. Editing went normally and then I went to get some pizza for lunch, leaving the video to render for upload.
When I came back after lunch I was most shocked to return to find the completed video included the discarded clips of both the B753 and the CRJ2!! Having one error was not unheard of since I am certainly not perfect... but two?? I suspected both of them had a wing in this but I couldn't be sure.
I called both N57857 and N460AW into my office to talk about the error. Both of them admitted they had tampered with the video and were most apologetic. N57857 confessed that he had been jealous for a long time of never being truly allowed in a Heavy Aircraft Friday video so he had hinted at a go-around so as to be filmed and then had inserted his clip while I was away. N460AW explained that since his video clip also included a Boeing 777-300ER perhaps an exception could be made. Well, yours truly is a kind-hearted soul and so I decided to let their clips stay in the video but advised them not to do it again. After thinking about it, I have to say I do like those two clips since they both add a little something to the video. In future, I will probably do a few videos featuring mainline aircraft of Chicago O'Hare as well as a few featuring those pesky regional jets since I have a feeling many more airplanes would like to be featured in my videos : )
And so there you have it. The story of how a B753 and a CRJ2 made it into a HAF video! Were they both in on it together? We'll never know for sure but I have my suspicions.
The End. ; )
