In this video we discuss how mho ground distance elements work, and how to implement a ground distance protection scheme to protect a 230kV transmission line using the SEL-411L protection relay. We go over how to calculate the Zone 1 (underreaching) and Zone 2 (overreaching) settings, as well as how to calculate the zero-sequence compensation factor.
