Yeah it is pretty nuts. And it was even a good deal off of their theoretical max damage here. 3d6+1 damage base. Times 4 from crit and vulnerability. They could have done 76 in one swing :-P. Sinthar really only really got to shine against the magma mephits :-)
I'm pretty sure the lava going away isn't actually a bug, but based on real-time passed instead of a specific amount of rounds passed, hence the inconsistency in duration.
Yeah. I assumed so as well. It is not consistent time though. I have tried entire fights where it never goes away, despite long time passing. I Have also tried mephits spawning without using hammer. And have seen them never spawn. I think it is definitely supposed to go away so you have to reapply it. Bug is probably the times where it doesnt go away. (I did this fight a lot back at launch on tact :-) have a 30 min video where I kill it all sorts of different ways)
The Muddy debuff from the Mephits removes his ablity to take reactions. Opportunity attacks are reactions. For whatever reason (bug) the game still shows as if he could do the attacks. So I have to keep track of if the debuff is on or not :-)
@@ShandrensCorner ohh got it! Thanks! I've beaten honor mode before, but you really play on the next next level. Lots to learn for me! What are some other ways to prevent reactions? I use Shocking Grasp sometimes.
@MsKhedge Hey, If you have completed Honor Mode you are further than me. This is my primary Honor Mode run :-) As for removing reactions: Muddy works, even though I don't think the tooltip says so (at least not on the wiki). Since the mephits are so easy to get, and muddy also gives advantage, this is probably the one I use by far the most. Water surface + any electricity damage creates an electrified surface. Walking through that gives shocked debuff. I use this one decently often on some playthroughs, as it is pretty generic. The following conditions also all take away the ability to take reactions: Prone, Stunned, Incapacitated and Dazed. I can't recall close to all the ways to apply them, but there are quiet a few. There are also some spells that take away reactions, like shocking grasp as you mention. Arms of Hadar is another early one.
There's room for improvement for sure, this is a tricky fight, especially in solo runs but nevertheless it was a good one and i must say i wasn't expecting a lot of damage with piercing, so i was curious to see what you had planned for this one, and this serves to show how useful those mephits are as support, i almost plucked my eyes of with this fight in my solo warlock run, of course you can cheese it, but what's the fun in that?😂
@@ShandrensCorner 😂😂😂😂😂😂 but seriously though, it must be a bug like that delay that happens sometimes between the actions (don't know if this happens to everyone, it happens to me with a Ryzen 7 2700) the game must miscalculate some stuff, but this is just a theory... A GAME THEORY!
@@Angelsaksarkongen Missing MatPat are we? 🙂 And yeah it does the delay thing for me sometimes as well. Mostly in between an attack and the damage landing.
This is like "Mud Mephit Mayhem with special guest star Sinthar"! 56 damage from a mephit is amazing.

The "No Problem" part here is maybe an overstatement :-P Very close to ending the run with bad plays here.
How is the the Grym not able to do any opportunity attacks even when the game shows the warnings as you move?

Yeah, not my best fight :-) Mostly towards the end it got a bit messy. That knockdown even though i was wearing the boots really rocked my boat!

He died and I didn't, that will have to be good enough for this time :-P But this could definitely have been smoother.
@@ShandrensCorner Thats what matters in the end :). I screw up stuff in most of my fights
