This is a real cool airport/ final because of the hard turns and simultaneous descent. Great idea to include a still of the model at the end - makes the viewing experience more real.
Ísafjörður has an awesome campground and you can climb this mountain beside the Airport to see airplanes landing! Ísafjörður is the departure to the most wonderful trekking ever! Hornstrandir area!
Looks almost more scary when viewed from the ground. I once watched the approach from the inside of the peninsula and was stunned. Even had my camera out and uploaded the result. But in hindsight and comparison, the cocpit view is impossible to beat!
Nice short final.....halfway through I was thinking I wouldn't do this at night but then realised the road light pretty much lead you to the runway. Really good video.
Went there last night in Microsoft Flight Simulator 2020. It is actually a featured "bespoke" airport, not just a default. And it is stunningly beautiful in that whole area. You can put the airplane on Pause as you land and duplicate everything seen in this video on ONE in-cockpit set-up page. That includes clouds, fog, rain or snow if you want, time of day night lights, and snow on the ground as desired. When done you will have zero difference as to what you see here. Good luck and try not to get scared if you are in full blown VR like I was on a Pimax Crystal. Light snow on 3D bladed grass in that sim will absolutely knock your socks off as will the accumulation on the tops of rocks. There are lots of rock piles in that area. It is something special. There is even a cruise ship in dock and the central town church looks great. They say passengers get nervous on a night landing in weather like this.
Wow... so fantastic, awesome and magnificant scenic landing. Much appreciated for all your time, efforts and money. Many thanks for sharing this wonderful video. Best regards, Nassa
what a great spot to fly into. thanks for the video, when you turned base I thought, hmmm, where is he going. (: Cheers from the Rocky mntns in Canada!
Nice. I would hate to try that in solid IMC or is there even such an approach? I do know I would request a left turn after take off. Thanks for making this vid. Nice job.
I flew in there back in 1973 to escort two USAF airmen who went AWOL and tried to hide in the town. The Policeman that we contacted told us that when the two were arrested, they were surprised the local Police knew they were Americans and that they were AWOL from the USAF base at Reykjavik. I laughed my ass off, they were both black men, could only speak English and had no money.
Hi! I am making a about the westfjords, I just fell in love with it, with a proper credit written on the video, can I use some of your footage? good job by the way :)

isolation and loneliness with beautiful scenery

I got cold watching this and a major feeling of isolation. Those roadways between sea and mountain slope are amazing.
Watching this in a hot summer in Paris makes me Wonder about earth diversity and gives a strange feeling
Everything on video is incredible! Approach is incredible! Scenery is incredible! Country is incredible!

Loved watching the planes land from Hotel Isafjordur. Talk about flying!
Stunning, and it gets more and more watchable as it goes
Norjassa on samanlaisia näkymiä kuin Islannissa.
Þarna er gamann að lenda. Þótt það sé bara í FSX. Gamann að þessu myndbandi !
Gaman að drepast :-)
wow - great video - serenely beautiful. We made it to Heydalur. Now wishing we went that last bit to Isafjordur
Nice approach, turn left hard making sure to not dip your left wingtip in the drip while lining up for final. Love the plane, it's gorgeous.

♥️
Runway lights definitely shoud have been lit in such conditions.
I just watched this exact flight on the Live Flight Tracker.
At 2:26 there is a bright yellow field, lower screen, center...what are they doing? Are they really playing football/soccer in that weather?
Yes we play football there all time. it is good weather.
It's just cold, no rain or snow, so seems like good weather
done this flight several times very nice area
Awsome video. Thanks for sharing.
I bet this fjord can fill with mist in under ten minutes. There aren't too many options for a missed approach here.
Brrrrrrr .... KOOOOOL !
Wow one decent tsunami and that place is toast
just saw this airport, it's amazing, but I was on the wrong side of the runway for a good picture

Sure, no problem. Send me a link with the finished product :)
@@eyvope thank you! Yes of corse :)
Awesome approach…….
Why is this the standard approach? So in case of go around necessity there is clearer room to go around?
When the wind blows from the west they land straight in on rwy28. This was the approach for rwy 8 when the wind is blowing from the east
@@rescuelight Opposite of rwy 8 would be 26

No runway lights??

Freaking jesus christ!!! That was insane!
The view looks like watching van helsing movie
This place looks like it is from Dante's inferno such as the Ninth Circle. Are there demons in the hills. Why would you go there ?
Oh, I don't know. Maybe for an unparalleled beauty that can be found nowhere else in the world?
Marvelous
is this real or simulated?
Real
nice one!
There's a Subway there... mmmm footlongs
Asun Suomessa mutta olen aina hallunnut käydä Islannissa.
